Can This work for a 4-wheel rear driver powerchair (the Ranger Discovery)?
I want a lift that is outside the car and does not involve using straps or tie-downs (as the user of the chair has mobility issues.)

With that chair being a lightweight folding type chair weighting 50lbs, you are not wanting to lift it into a vehicle but instead put it on a lift on the back of your vehicle correct? The lifts have a minimum weight of 55lbs in order for the folding mechanism to work so I don't think it would want to stay flat when not enough weight is on it. You could end up adding extra weight to the lift every time you use the lift for the chair.
Are you not wanting to put the chair inside the vehicle or is it that it is too heavy to lift into the vehicle? We have a small portable lift called the GoLift that people purchase for lightweight folding chairs that are just a bit too heavy for them to lift into a vehicle. I will add a link below for that.

@@Marcsmobility Thank you for the reply.
I want a lift for my 69-year-old senior mom that:
      1. she does not have to bend down or pick up at all to use. (So that also rules out the golift you linked to.)
      2. that is external (via hitch)
(we tried the Bruno curbsider on the inside of the car. But due to her chair being different than many other chairs, it did not work out. Additionally, it also takes too much room in the back of her 2015 Subaru Forester)
      3. that does not involve tie down or rachet straps, as I want her to be able to just drive onto the lift, press a button/turn a key, and have the lift do all the work.
      4. that can swing away when we need to get to the back door.
      5. that she can use all on her own without my help so she can have some independence again.
The reason I was looking at the al560 was because it seems to fulfill all of the criteria.
I especially like the swing arm which holds the chair in place without the need for ratchet straps.
From your previous comment, it looks like to use the al560 we would need to weigh down the chair (which is no problem) I would also be leaving the chair unfolded all the time.
(btw We would get a chair cover but we live in AZ so rain is usually not a problem. )
My only concern is if the al560 would work with the wheels of her Ranger Discovery as it is a rear wheel drive system and only has 4 wheels and not 6 like in the video.

So the AL-560 would work for her. As far as the braces, they are able to be moved around on tracks so you would take the 2 wider pieces and move them to the center side by side and the smaller ones would be moved to fit the drive wheels and front casters to match where the bar would need to come down to the seat to hold it in place. You could always get a small weight and attach it to the lift so when the chair is on there, it would lift the chair instead of folding up like there is no chair on the lift.
