@@IlIllIIIlll TLDR - a guy who endured 500 years of pain to bring back his beloved back to life. To do so, he did so many appalling things that HI3 characters and players hated him passionately (hence why Welt was apprehensive of Luocha - he looks like Otto.)
You might wanna play HI3 yourself for more details about Otto. Highly recommend it!
@naomikirisaki they see his sacrifice but in the end he's the ultimate definition of a villain. I trust the trailblazer will never walk his path. Wanna know why Kallen died? Half can be attributed to Otto's indirect doings. That's one main reason he's guilty, and he's so guilty he focused on reviving her for 500 years rather than directly dealing with the honkai. So even if people know his sacrifice, they won't understand him. For Kallen her life was meaningful dying for what she knew was the truth and justice, yet Otto... even after 500 years failed to comprehend.

How the hell did a character that we spent a short time with leave such a big impact bruh? Is this what it's like to experience a Honkai game? I have to give props to the writers.

Shaoji is the one responsible for the countless ugli tears of captains in Honkai impact 3rd. And this whole arc of penacony just shows that. You know your a master writer when you can make even a character you spent such little time with have this much impact.
I wish this version's also an option for the Parlor Car. While I absolutely adore the original, this has better 'BGM loop' to it. The vibe it brings as I look back to Trailblazer and Firefly's moment is so peaceful like a sanctuary. The way the vocals in this one fade in and out, like an actual firefly's light.

I always understood Otto and realy when you think about it, we would not have the somewhat good ending of Part 1 without him doing what he did. There would be no Kiana to fully master Finality.
Otto's goals have always been extremely human, let's be real if someone you cared about could be brought back by sacrificing others I'm sure 9/10 of us would take it. We hate Otto because the people he's sacrificing are people we care about.
As for how we deal with the pain? We don't, I still cry whenever I watch Final Lesson despite who knows how many times I've seen it and break into a sobbing mess every time I see chapter 25. We just kinda let MiHoYo do their thing and enjoy the ride while crying all the way.
For me, Otto was always evil. But once Kolostën arc roll around, i understand where he's coming and his motives.

A friend of mine hated him for what he'd done to Kiana and the team, his motives to reverse time to 500 years ago to save Kallen. I then asked him, if you have the power to do so, the power to save your loved ones from a fate where they weren't supposed to befall upon them, would you be willing to do so, and he answered yes. I asked even if you need to trample the lives of innocents, and he froze.

I always hated him, but he gained my respect because he's willing to do that for the person he holds dear. His family discards him, people shunned him. The only ray of hope he has left was Kallen. Once that's gone, he had nothing to lose.

As for how I'd cope with the loss and heartbreak Honkai always puts up, short answer: I don't 🫠. I just let myself feel depressed and adding unto it more by listening to the song/OST that company the scene🫡

Dang it. I saw the cutscene in leaks, I knew what was coming. But it still hit me hard. After inspecting the phone and seeing the unsent message, It hit me even harder when the song started playing. Just stood there for a good 5 mins
Music is a powerful tool, and you know its a good ost when i felt fine after i was spoiled this cutscene but when i heard this song playing in the backround after finding the image, i got emotional.

I think we’ll have a sad brief reunition before she’s gone for good or maybe there’s a plot twist. Remember that we haven’t get confirmation yet whether Firefly dies in real life or not. There are still many things that require explanation. Why is she with Sam? Why did Sam betray her? Bait? To lure who? The true enemy? We’ll see in 2.1

Alongside the Express crew and maybe a few others, we fight against the 'monster' once again.
Penacony is destroyed and Firefly's body begins to fades away.
We spend one more moment with her in the Secret Base, looking at the stars until she completely fades away and we forget about her.
The Garden of Remembrance arrives later and will try to reconstruct Penacony using the memoria fragments of the dead planet.
After we warp out of Penacony, tears ran down our face once again.
Black Swan will come visit us in the end and give us the memories she's found.

Ultimately, let your feelings flow, probably the ultimate message “The Great One” aka Harmony Aeon wants us to understand which is very understandable, because Harmony wants the best for us and to make us feel emotions. No wonder why every quests in Penacony are related to fixing one’s emotions.

to those who feel sad after, I gotta admit. that was pretty sad. but no matter what the trailblazer will get back up stronger. I used to watch this anime called Berserk and it was gory and sad, almost made me traumatized. but one thing Berserk has taught me is that pain is temporary and that the only way to recover is to push forward in this futile struggle I call 'life'. well, I hope I don't cause a fight in the comments.

I've been thinking about our relationship with Firefly in game, and watching all the theories on what happened to her. I was really infatuated with her to begin with and saddened by her death. The theories of her being alive give me hope, but it also gives me some dread.
Firefly will not be forgotten. Not just by us, but by the story. She had secrets. Too many. Clockie basically confirmed that she does not have innocence. Sparkle tried to warn us, and even called us out for being infatuated with her and being blind to who she really is. Firefly's last words are an apology to you. Right after Firefly's death, Acheron says she wishes she could have done something, but can't explain why she didn't. Then quotes this: "No compassion for the enemy, for that is cruelity upon yourself. But you must see clearly who the true enemy is. And then, with one swing of your blade, you must understand its meaning and the price you pay."
There are a lot of theories out there. The game makes it clear that what killed her causes "spiritual death", and the somber reactions of Black Swan and Acheron seem to confirm that this is more severe than "dying in a dream", which is treated as something more unnerving or frustrating than something permenent. However, in your fight with the Meme, your characters are downed by it's attacks, and yet can be rescued. Maybe it's not spiritual death, but, spiritual separation? Acheron seemed to know something, and once Black Swan leaves she releases something at the place of Firefly's death, asking to guide her back to the waking world.
I think the most sound theory so far is that Firefly is or will be a Stelleron Hunter linked with SAM. Some people smarter than me have made the connection that every person who describes SAM describes him in a different way, with Fireflly's use of "Mecha" being an interesting choice, as only people from where SAM came from would call him that. On top of this, when mentioning all the parties at play at Penacony, Firefly fails to mention the Stelleron Hunters. While you could chalk this up to ignorance, she also mentions both Black Swan and Adventurine in the same line, two people she has not met yet that you are aware of. She even has some inside information about the invitation, which the bigger parties had cracked. How does she know all this? Given that she seems to work closely with SAM, must be that she's working with the Stelleron Hunters.
If Firefly is a Stelleron Hunter, then she's following Elio's script. Question is, how much of our interaction was scripted, and how much of it wasn't? Meeting her in the first place felt like a whole "Damsel in distress" situation, and maybe it was Elio's goal for us to fall for her and want to save her. That's where the dread kicks in. What if she is faking any positive feelings towards us? I hope that's not the case. It would be kinda awesome to be close with one of the Stelleron Hunters.
Another possibility is that Firefly is the main villain. While unlikely, my suspicions are there.
A final point I will touch on is, Acheron. Rereading that quote from her, "with one swing of your blade, you must understand its meaning and the price you pay". In our first dream meeting with Acheron, she ends the dream by killing us with her blade. She wasn't willing to kill the Meme with the blade, but she does it to us in the dream. And does it tearfully. Acheron's red text is seen to have control over our fate at some points, and I've heard a plausable theory that Acheron is an emanator of Finality, and moves backwards through time, which is why she seems to be unable to remember things that should be obvious, or why her red text is inconsistent through different playthroughs. Maybe our death in that first dream is itself an important role we play.
No matter what, this story is going to be really interesting, and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
