It's because people don't know what awesome music sounds like, nor do they look for it. They're all fed mainstream garbage.
It's better this way. I hope the band makes a lot of $ off it's hardcore audience but going mainstream normally constrains artists while if they run under the radar they can do anything they want for their real fans. It's just up to fans to support them which is why concerts are great people pay a lot of $ to see people they like win win.

I know your comment was 8 years ago but I had to reply. Huge metalhead until a few years ago and the two artists you named were the reason I became an electronic music fan. Massive Attack solidified my love for electronic music and caused it to become my go-to music over metal. All 3 are in my top 10 favorite artists. My music taste has grown tremendously because of these 3 artists.

When you guys played this at the gorge 2019 for the gud vibrations tour 😍 best performance by any artist I’ve ever seen the whole set was immaculate

Your basslines kick you out of your seat. Your high ends bleep and quiver at a strobelike rate. Your drums hit hard, fast and violently. Everything about your music is awesome.
