For the next two weeks I laid in the shower as much as I could with as hot of water as I could stand hitting me because it took away some of the pain. She hit the nail on the head. She touched on something we all know but until recently, i didn't think enough about. At the base of politics and activism, it's about people truly wanting and thinking that they are doing good for the community. The problem always lies in the lies that people believe, even if the lie is just someone being wrong about something while genuinely believing they are right. It seems like a Duh type thing but that is one thing that always has to be remembered. Discussions are always the goal, not arguments.
You being well dressed, articulating stats so well, on a podium, with the American flag behind you really looks like you’re running for governor. I have to say it, it looks good on you Amala
So happy my sister recommended your channel to me. Love watching you talk about all these issues we are facing in our society and you calling all the issues out.
Wow, Amala is such an insightful young person and very knowledgeable. So few young adults today are as effective in communicating their view points as succinctly as does. Especially when comes to the issue of race.
When I found out I was pregnant for the 1st time at 43( not for a lack of trying) I had to get Medicaid. The way I was treated was horrible. I couldn't see a doctor until I was 12 week. I ended up with a midwife who didn't listen to me. She told me because of my age my baby had a 95% chance of having Down syndrome and wanted to know if I wanted to abort her,(the baby I wanted and tried for, for 23 years) my blood pressure was extremely high and they did nothing, I had an accident a long time ago where I broke my pelvis and tried telling her that I would have to have a C-section due to the break. She didn't believe me. My next appointment was to see how my daughter was doing and the doctor said to me. "I can't believe you aren't seeing a high risk doctor due to your age" (this was an outside that did my scan) Well that day and a month earlier than my due date I went to the ER and had my C-section because I almost died.
I am sorry that happened to you. State funded medical systems in the United States tend to operate based on cost more than need. I was younger by about ten years, but with high blood pressure and gestational diabetes, I was seeing a high risk doctor, getting frequent medication evaluations, and visiting the hospital frequently toward the end. I had three babies in three years. That was in the care of Kaiser Permanente. If anything, they overreacted to some things and ignored others. But they really tried. I have a friend who has complex medical issues, low income, and relies on medical. She has really had to fight through that system based on how poorly it functions and the complexity of hee health. We have both learned to better advocate for ourselves in a medical setting.
one of the biggest problems in the US is the healthcare system. they dont listen to people and at the same time dont seem to know what they should know. over 250,000 people die each year from medical malpractice its the 3rd leading cause of death in the US
I see alot of stories like this it it makes me feel sad but also lucky I haven't had those instances. I've had medicaid for all three pregnancies and never felt as tho I was treated bad for that,my last one and this one having high blood pressure. I've had more people, sub obs and ultrasound techs, make comments on my weight; I had a baby in 2020,2022 and am pregnant with my third, than anything. Acting genuinely surprised and making snide remarks when I say I don't have gestational diabetes ect. I love my normal ob who has been my ob for all three girls and will stick with her for any further pregnancies
Amala, I aspire to be as discursive and articulate as you are! You genuinely look at these people with compassion and that is thoroughly admirable! Thank you for being an absolute role model!
I went to a school that was very, very diverse. Children just got on with each other, none of us cared about skin colour - we just did lessons and played together at break. We went to each others houses, enjoyed each others cultures. It's tragic what has happened, it teaches division, hatred to others and self loathing.
What she said about children not ascribing value to race is exactly how I felt when I was a teenager and my school kept trying to instill in me Black pride. So of course I was ostracized by my classmates and accused of trying to be white because I didn’t want to live up someone else’s idea of what it means to be Black. I saw Black history as a tool of oppression because people are always trying to use it to tell me who I should be, what I should believe, how I should act.
She is so articulate! I wish I could speak with that clarity of thought and ideas. I’m so glad we have people like her pushing back against the harmful tenets of CRT.
THIS is how debates and Q/As should be handled. See how respectful they are? No interruptions, or shouting insults etc. Just civil asking and answering of questions.
You are so amazing, Amala! Also thank you for appearing on Dr. Phil so my sheeple msm loving family members actually had a chance to listen to you. Recommendations from me are not wanted.... but Dr. Phil and the view and all that crap... they eat up with a spoon.
idk if he tried to school, he was more just curious. and im glad at his calm demeanor as you dont see that much these days as when someone who tries to challenge another's view point they usually are heated and confrontational. so kudos to that young man. as when i watch people debating ideas in the past they usually are calmer than whats going on today with people so full of rage and anger when people have different points of views.
I agree. He may disagree with her fundamentally or ideologically there's no way of knowing based on his behavior. But he was articulate and respectful and asked great questions.
Wow. How anyone can listen to this dissertation and not come away amazed and edified is beyond me. This young woman is a rising star in the political landscape.
I’m not into women but when I look at Amala, I find her to be one of the most beautiful women I’ve looked at. She seems more beautiful today than when I first found her content. I can’t help but think her wisdom makes her so much more radiant and awesome to watch and see.
I agree. If you look into her past when she was pro BLM, she was angry and it definitely showed. Once she opened her eyes to the bs it's like she blossomed and smiles/laughs a lot. She's happy now. It comes from inside. All that unnecessary rage is not cute lol!
Lotta uh & um's. He seemed more inquisitive then assertive - although he didn't want to admit that maybe he's the one who changed since the last conversation. Racism was seen differently before and after WW2. Boomers were born into a transition, they listened to black music, went to school with black kids and repeated MLK's words. Teach the 60's not CRT
I admire this man with a different view, he is being open and trying to understand the other sides view without yelling and being extremely hateful like the thousands of other vudeos
She’s not African American she’s Nigerian. To say that she’s African American is to say that she is ADOS/FBA because she KNOWS where she comes from in Africa.

I've always been a supporter of CRT being taught in schools; however, this discussion really made me rethink that stance. I've never thought CRT should be taught as an absolute, but I also didn't see the harm in teaching it in elementary school. Thanks for such a clear explanation of the issue.
I'm a big fan of you Amala, but I don't think this is a fair title. I don't think he tried to school you, he was nothing but polite and respectful and seemed genuinely curious about your positions.
BOOM!!! OUTSTANDING!!! How did one so young become so wise? You are a gift to this country and your generation in particular. Keep doing what you're doing, Lady. You are brilliant!
As an Asain immigrant from India’s, what she explained at 6:13 is what I have notice most immigrants families mentality is like. If you’re not able to move past the limitations that you face (whether racial or financial) it’s what will determine if you family will prosper or continue to struggle in your new home. When I moved to the US I grew up in a majority black/Latino neighborhood and noticed this similarity in my friends and neighbors struggles in raising their families as well.
I wouldn't say that children don't recognize race, obviously they can see skin color, they can tell that there is a difference. Rather I would say children do not add a hierarchical value to race unless otherwise told.
Love to see more open debates like this with Amala, best way for the 3rd person who is just there to listen get the REAL information on what's going on. need to keep Amala on the megaphone
What a well-done, civil discussion! Interview? Kudos to both of you! We need more of these! I feel like I learned quite a bit from your answers. This is unrelated to this video, but I found something out as a result of your channel and I want to share it with you and anyone who might read this comment. I can’t remember which one of your videos prompted me to make this experiment, but you and Taylor were talking about how easy it is to get stuck in an echo chamber no matter how much you try to defeat the algorithm by not liking or engaging with content. Then Taylor made a comment that stuck with me enough that, a day or two later, it inspired today’s experiment. Taylor said that he will sometimes put his tab on private and then go onto CZcams to see what is suggested without the influence from anywhere regarding his interests. This is where my experiment begins. I’ve been noticing that I get recommended to me a lot videos that are titled things like “why I left the left”. So I did a search “why I left the right“. 1 video came up, but the guy immediately said, “don’t worry, I’m not becoming a lib.” From what I gathered from listening to his intro, he was maybe becoming independent. But that was the only video. I figure that it might be my CZcams history, my echo chamber getting in the way. So I opened a private tab, got into CZcams and searched again “why I left the right”. Same solitary video option before a ton of videos either comparing & contrasting views of right vs left, to mocking videos about conservatives, even to dance moves. I even tried searching “right wing” instead of “right”. Same results, just no more dance videos. As the last part of my experiment, still in my private tab and still not logged in to my CZcams, I searched “why I left the left”. Video upon video came up. So many content creators, so many young people, leaving the left. It was such a contrast and a bit mind-blowing. It might not seem like it, but the tides are turning. You and content creators like you are reaching people. You are changing minds. The left is changing minds - albeit not the way they intend to. The woke are waking up. I found this incredibly hopeful and just wanted to share.
Found you a few months ago and randomly tune into your old videos I come across and you never cease to amaze me 💕 thank you for your voice 👏 kudos to the young man also for listening and engaging civilly

6:39 "But now that we've placed the blame, what do we do." Amala - That's a brilliant distillation of the challenge. Unfortunately, labeling something as "racist" often ends the conversation instead of catapulting it toward the implementation of concrete solutions.

i think this also doesnt take into account the fact that a lot of people who are in dangerous situations and dont have good planning skills often fall pregnant on accident, people who are poor, people involved in drug circles, people involved in other similar things. so it would follow that if youre more likely to be pregnant if you have poor planning skills, and also are more likely to be in dangerous situations for the same reason (for example dating a drug dealer, dating a violent man, dating a gang member etc) it follows that those women would be more likely to be murdered by those men.

I'm so sorry for your experience. I spent the whole story waiting to hear that your child was ok. So happy that she is. We kinda get the conveyor belt treatment....next. Truly sad that a human could be so disregarded. God Bless.
@@LightLivingEst80 I haven't heard all of the particulars. But I believe you.
So much respect. Woman, you are a QUEEN. This needs to be seen by all. How does she hold such grace while speaking- incredible
Queen is a term for people that don't deserve it. She's something else. She's super smart, brilliant and classy.
For people who don’t deserve it? Never heard of that, but, either way I think people are smart enough to read my comment in context and know I am trying to give her huge props. You are right, she is everything you say she is. Serious gift to the world.
@@georgiagirl1986 True True, you speak nothing but the truth, still, it has become such an underused word these days it's hard for mind not to go there.

honestly this is a good Q&A. he wasnt dismissive, he was listening, you guys talked and nobody accused anyone of some extremism, it was just problem solving and observation.
Great conversation! We need more of this. Not naming calling, and shouting down ideas.
Civilized conversation..... that was the norm a few years ago.
Always inspired by Amala's wisdom and grace.
That was absolutely excellent. I am so glad that conversations like these are happing with no hatred at all.
This is how people SHOULD BEHAVE DURING A DEBATE, WITH RESPECT AND KNOWLEDGE BASED ARGUMENTS. 🥰🥰🥰
Both of you guys did a great job at respecting one another and the ideas. This is how we need to be
Man I tested up watching this. You are the teachers we need in our schools..Amazing God Bless
"I can't believe you aren't seeing a high risk doctor due to your age" (this was an outside that did my scan)
Well that day and a month earlier than my due date I went to the ER and had my C-section because I almost died.
Good grief! That sucks. I hope your baby is doing well now ❤️🙏
@@annabanana6965 she is a beautiful, sweet and smart 7 yr old.
For sure one of the future leaders of the black American community! This young woman is VERY impressive!
You nailed it, so clear, so logical consistent, so carefull of every thing you say. A pleasure to listen to.
idk if he tried to school, he was more just curious. and im glad at his calm demeanor as you dont see that much these days as when someone who tries to challenge another's view point they usually are heated and confrontational. so kudos to that young man. as when i watch people debating ideas in the past they usually are calmer than whats going on today with people so full of rage and anger when people have different points of views.
I agree. He may disagree with her fundamentally or ideologically there's no way of knowing based on his behavior. But he was articulate and respectful and asked great questions.
That was epic. I think he really learned something. So proud of you Amala ❤
Same. Major girl crush.
I don’t understand the title of this video. I was thinking that he was challenging her. But they both had an amazing and respectful convo.
Is it weird to say I am a little proud of you ;) Well done !
WOW 😮 Great speech 👏👏👏 So much knowledge and Wise words. In a debate i'll pick your side. Merci pour cette leçon d'histoire.
CRT sounds so destructive. Cruel to teach that to children. No one should be taught they have 'no choice' to be racist or a victim.
I admire this man with a different view, he is being open and trying to understand the other sides view without yelling and being extremely hateful like the thousands of other vudeos
Really nice to see more mainstream African-Americans who are articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking gal. I mean, that's a storybook, man!
She’s not African American she’s Nigerian. To say that she’s African American is to say that she is ADOS/FBA because she KNOWS where she comes from in Africa.
I don't think the young man tried to school Amala, at all. He was asking questions, as he should.
Excellent dialogue and engagement. This is what is needed.
I really appreciate the way you deal with questions, and how articulate n brilliant you are amala. You are way beyond your years in maturity. You should run for President one day. You'd be 100x better than many the U.S. have had. Honestly. You're awesome!
This was powerful. Amala, you are wise beyond your years. Love the discussion these two had. Well done.
Nice to see polite and well thought out dialogue on both sides, and no click bait "student destroyed...." title. The good side of Uni....
This was wonderful dialogue! Amala, you're such a well spoken person!
the "problem"
is not racism.
*the problem is sin*
in the wicked hearts of men.
Amala is so grounded. Like listening to her.
That was incredible Amala! Great job and thank you so much for standing up for everybody!❤️
I wouldn't say that children don't recognize race, obviously they can see skin color, they can tell that there is a difference. Rather I would say children do not add a hierarchical value to race unless otherwise told.
Your right racism is taught 100 percent
Love to see more open debates like this with Amala, best way for the 3rd person who is just there to listen get the REAL information on what's going on. need to keep Amala on the megaphone
Great to see people with opposing thoughts talking it out. Far too often its a shouting match or talking over each other.
"Children do not prescribe value to race". That was very profound. Loved this entire exchange of ideas.
This video is absolutely amazing. Accountability in the black community, man do we need it 🙌
The whole of humanity could do with people like you leading us! Brilliant video!
"play the victim and you will be the victim"
This was great!
Also, I've never seen a single person opportune to so much question time!
Beautifully expressed points, and I agree wholeheartedly!
i never clapped so hard in my life, GET EM TIGER.
Found you a few months ago and randomly tune into your old videos I come across and you never cease to amaze me 💕 thank you for your voice 👏 kudos to the young man also for listening and engaging civilly
You are the most eloquent of all these conservative pundit types. You are never snarky or dismissive, you actually lay out lots of nuanced facts and factors that go into every problem. You're not myopic or cocky like other conservative types. You're a smart ass lady
Amala... you are such a delightful human being. You have the quality of expressing your thoughts flawlessly. I just need to know, in the current educational "system", how you attained this knowledge and to whom you owe the credit for molding you into such a fine and rare example of a highly educated American.
I started following this girl a few months back and love her. So smart and so eloquent
Great discourse and dialogue! Rarely seen these days with such a divided nation where it’s mostly two monologues of shouting match most of the time. Very refreshing! We need more of these!
I'm glad you skooled him with truth and facts
Amala you killed it so spot on and concise❤️❤️👏👏👍👍🤗🤗
Amala is about the smartest, most naturally eloquent speakers I ever seen. She should be a role model for any young woman.
I just love her. The way she presents and her detailed argument.
That was a great conversation. Need so much more of that in our country
Closing statement made it worth watching. You're a very bright and strong leader. My Respect.
I'm glad you have opened your mind to reason. I support everyone like you. Keep up this very needed work.
Mmmmhhhh🔥🔥🔥🔥 really enjoyed this segment. Amala you're very smart, eloquent and well spoken...and very beautiful. Keep doing what you do!!! ❤️
Grl where did u come frm??? I'm a 40yr old woman n ur ideology Is EXACTLY like mine. Only I dn't have the guts to get up there and open eyes like u do. I appreciate u so much!!!
I don't know if this guy will change his mind on these issues, but I love his attitude and apparent sincerity. Love Amala's attitude as well, it's just very wholesome as a whole, like a real, respectful conversation. Definitely miles better than screaming incoherently, damaging property and assaulting people.
6:39 "But now that we've placed the blame, what do we do." Amala - That's a brilliant distillation of the challenge. Unfortunately, labeling something as "racist" often ends the conversation instead of catapulting it toward the implementation of concrete solutions.
And those solutions often end up reaching the conclusion that one grotto requires more power than the other.
When I worked with the homeless and low income most of the people did not have primary care providers. They went to the ER for everything. I think Amala nailed it on lack of education and support.
I am just in aw with Amala. Hands down to you girl! 🙌🏻👏🏻💛
Amala, great discussion, but would you consider changing the title? I don't think he was trying to "school" you at all, but to better understand. He was very respectful and thoughtful, and he helped you give a more thorough explanation.
Agreed. I don't like that it's set up to seem that way especially over these types of issues. We have to be understanding and willing to learn from each other. Not treating discussion of viewpoints as a battle for supremacy
She is so clever, knowledgeable, and articulate, way beyond her young age. And to be able to speak spontaneously like that is a gift. And kudos to the young man for his part in an interesting debate. This is the way it used to be.
great job!! the man asking the questions did a great job too
You have come a long way quickly Amala. Have watched you mature and really become a strong articulator of your thoughts. Excellent job! Keep up the amazing work! It is so powerful seeing an ex LEFTIST come around to reason and logic and articulate your position so well!
Wow. I was just going to listen to a few minutes and couldn't turn away! Eloquently and intelligently stated arguments. You have a bright future (and present) and we're blessed to have people like you standing up for American values and truth. Keep it up and thank you.
She speaks Facts
i think this also doesnt take into account the fact that a lot of people who are in dangerous situations and dont have good planning skills often fall pregnant on accident, people who are poor, people involved in drug circles, people involved in other similar things. so it would follow that if youre more likely to be pregnant if you have poor planning skills, and also are more likely to be in dangerous situations for the same reason (for example dating a drug dealer, dating a violent man, dating a gang member etc) it follows that those women would be more likely to be murdered by those men.
this was NOT a debate but a civil discussion------refreshing
This was insightful thank you. Ive heard this term but was never really given depth into what it looks like on details.
