YO! I compare Joji's Smithereens to Tyler the Creator's Cherry Bomb! I feel they have around the same quality and had the same audience reaction and I wanted to point that out. YEET! #essay #music #short
joji is an artist that consistently never hits his creative peak like to the point that it pisses me off songs like slow dancing in the dark, test drive, sanctuary, run, glimpse of us, die for you are truly amazing but he can never keep that quality for a whole album
Great video, but I think Smithereens is a great 3rd album. Things we liked about the comeup Joji mixed with new themes. That being said, I would rank it his 2nd best because of the cultural impact of Glimpse of Us and Die for You.
Great video bro. Huge fan of filthyfrank/pinkguy/joji. Cherry bomb is artistically a passsion project for tyler and let him experiment. Smithereens is the complete opposite. Your comparison to a rushed out video game is super accurate.
I love cherry bomb, although smithereens is really mid. I do agree with comparing it to cherry bomb because people hate cherry bomb for some reason but even though I love cherry bomb, I do agree.
As a Joji fan myself, smithereens was a disappointment, it felt like just a bunch of throwaways to give us while we wait for his next "real" album. That said, I think the most important factor in the drop of quality resides in that if you look at the credits, Joji himself doesn't even write and/or produce the majority of the album, personally one of Joji's distinct appeals for me was the "DIY" vibes of his firsts selfproduced projects like in tongues or ballads 1
I think his label forced him to put an album out honestly its sad considering the "album" is so much worse compared to any of his unreleased its an ep not an album
@@atronecttribe7992 yea definitely but the way he delivers sentences and his editing just seems identical to older shawn cee videos if u were to watch one
Nah it's truly not good. Legitimately one good track rest are through aways. From an artistic standpoint his shit as pink guy and the things HE actually produced are significantly better. L take on your part. This dudes right
It's weird that Joji has so few writing credits on smithereens, I can imagine that explaining why the vibes are off
how old are you to be saying 'bass thicker than a seventh grade latina' 😭😭
mfer you said that " a 6 years difference is a 10 years sentence " was weird but then joji's bass is thicker than a 7th grade latina >? huh
bro what im so slow can u pls explain wym by this comment lmao
@@liam333_ 3:18 & 4:59
4:57 how you gonna gloss over that like that’s normal

Pretty good video, the outro being from the party hard soundtrack was awesome.
Great video, it surprises me that this guy only has 100 subs!

People hated the first prequel movie when it came out. I remember it quite vividly because i was so dissapointed.
Haven’t listened to the album yet, I’ve heard almost nobody talk about it tho lol and some of my friends are joji fans
Made me laugh
This was a good take. I would take cherry Bomb over Smithereens
