- What Hearts of Iron 4 / Hearts of Iron 2 / Darkest Hour Game Mod is this? I "played" Hearts of Iron 3 last week, and now it is time to check out its predecessor. I don't know anything about this game, but the end results left me interested.

Yeah, it seriously downgrades more or less any Paradox HOI game, and this game was made by a group of modders literally 6 or so people. That’s like the Kaiserreich mod.

Played Darkest Hour as my first HOI game, loved it, 700 hours in it and still learning new.
Upgraded to HOI4, also loved it, haven't played DH since, kinda sad, but DH had its quirks.
But still so glad you made a video about DH, it needs more attention.

Naval invasions are similar to Hearts of Iron 3, where you put your troops on the boat, move the boat next door, then unload the boat.

Drew, I know this was probably planned as just a one off but you have to do a vid on the og Kaiserreich for Darkest Hour, it's amazing and Hoi4's Kaiserreich is still a baby at best compared to it because of the insane amount of development time that the original Kaiserreich had over the years.

you should try playing Galimulator, its literally made for observer mode!
In Victoria 1 Revolutions there is built in suport for exporting your campaign into HOI2. So you could play a campaign from 1836 to 1964. Also using NATO counters looks better.
