In this video you can see how easy is to replace/upgrade drawer slides. Thanks for watching! Here is the link for the Drawer slides: www.amazon.com/Promark-Capaci...
Clever installation-definately will not pull out old slides until new slides are installed. We appreciate very clear directions and quality video- just to the point no music or extra chatter. Thank you very much!
Thank you for this video! You tube people like yourself have allowed this lady to do many things on my own, including run a new electrical outlet from an existing one, lay flooring, install a backsplash and much more! Tomorrow I will be going to get some drawer slides to replace those flimsy ones as I will be getting new countertops soon and it will be easier to do this without the countertops on. Thank you and all the other helpful professionals and do it yourselfers out there for taking the time to help us all out!
This is the best video I have seen about how to fix the draw glides. I have the same sort of flimsy glides and the back of my drawers fall through them. I'm going to get some new glides and do this today!
This was probably THE most helpful video! I was having an issue with glide length because I was hung up on the fact the current glides were too short and the installation method was all wrong. The boards on the sides answer my question and will make my installation much easier!! Thank you!
Excellent Fix ! Like the fact you used the existing slides for your baseline and jig to mount the new slides ! Exceptional Idea ! Many Thanks for the Great Idea !
Fabulous video! Now i know how to fix my cheap broken tracks! You just made my life easier! Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge! God Bless!
the best purchase ever. i never had brushless tools before to compare but those are 10 times better then any other battery operated tool i ever touched.
Absolutely perfect video. Your installation idea is simple and efficient. I too bought Home Depot cabinets and I have the same issue. Cheap and flimsy hardware. Thank you!!!
Thank you for making this video. It was very well done & the video angle was perfect. Allowing clear visual views from all important angles. Thanks for providing the link to the amazon products, also.
Excellent video. New subscriber here. I plan on replacing the roller sliders with the ball bearing ones just like you showed. Seems like a much simpler way to line it up with the old rails keeping its place while the new one is fastened. I too have to add the wood shims on the sides of my cabinets. Thanks for the video and the idea. This hobby carpenter is going to give this a try.
You had a very easy job because you could work through the opening in the top of the vanity. My vanity is already installed with the top. My drawer opening are only 12 inches wide and impossible to get two hands and tools inside.
+Ghost Boogie Baby yes doing it yourself it's not just going to save you a lot of $$$ but most of the time you'll do better job then whoever you hire. It's hard to find good quality work even if you pay extra :-)
Simple and smart. Not quite what I needed, but well worth watching for reference. I just want to build and install sliding shelves under the sink, but I will have no side points. I must build it stand-alone.
you make it look so easy :( 3 drawers from 6 of my dresser are just hanging w no clothes because the drawer slides fell apart long time ago) I was just going to buy another dresser, but hey, they are not cheap :(
@@MartinMinkov I was doing them today for a client...Sadly, the original rails were bent and shot...One of those 36 inch three drawer cabinets...A bit more work...
Martin - you have a 3/4 inch space between the old slider and the cabinet wall. In my cabinet there is 1/2 inch clearance at the front and 1 inch at the back (the slide is on a slight angle front to back). Would a 1/2 thick board work ok from front to back? Thank you so much for your video!
Quick question, so when you have already installed the new drawer slides on top of the old drawer slides inside of the cabinet box how can you pull out the new guides without access from the top. I have granite counters already installed and wanted to follow your method.
Is the thickness of the sliders universal? I mangled the right side slider on my desk drawer a few months ago and want to replace it. Doubt I have the luxury of that three-quarter inch that you had to work with so if I can't find sliders of exactly the same thickness I don't think I will be able to do this repair.
I installed some of these, Richelieu brand from Lowes , on my bathroom drawers,, but are very inferior compared to the mechanism in my kitchen drawers which are mounted on the bottom and are smoother and very quiet. The brand may be Blum.
i was looking for how to remove the original sliders, mine are installed improperly; too close causing my drawers to stick and i have to use both hands to pull it out.
This is very helpful, thanks! Also, new cabinets have full face frames? I have a 50s kitchen with full face framed cabinets, and someone told me that is not done anymore.
I get them from overstock.com or from amazon.com . I choose them by the reviews and the price. I don't have a specific brand. You can also check a&hturf.com
Just pull it out. It's just flimsy plastic stuck in a whole. There is no hardware holding it. Might need to wiggle it a bit but they come out fairly easy... At least most of them do
What air compressor would you recommend for a hobby woodworker I'm interested in making cabinets for my laundry room next, I think a nail gun would help me out a great bit.
+Poring Littlefoot you can get a deal at Menards Bostitch 6 gallon with 2 guns and stapler and the hose for $189 I believe. I have one like this for 5 years already and never had a single problem with it. It's easy to move around and doesn't take too much storage space
Martin, nice job of putting sturdier slides in. But, why didn't you replace the crappy plastic sockets with metal ones? Anytime that you can replace the Chinese plastic junk parts is a good thing. I found metal ones at RVplus.
+Chadwick Anderson you have 2 options. Amazon or overstock.com. They have the best prices and practically free shipping. Good luck :-) and check all the reviews before you buy anything. I always find important info in the reviews that helps me choose the best fit for my needs
how do i fix slides on a dresser? I have two that have broken rails, but it's the ones in the middle of the drawer where there's a long piece of wood. Do you have tutorials for that?
I usually replace them with metal. You can fix wooden ones. There is a lot of videos how too depends on what kind of tools you have you can make them from scratch.
+Jerry LaRose Here is where I got them: www.overstock.com/Obiz/GlideRite-22-inch-Full-Extension-Soft-Close-Drawer-Slides-Pack-of-10-Pairs/6188049/product.html - you cant beat this price with FREE shipping too.

Leaving the old slides in place while you installed the new ones was brilliant. Good move and thanks for the video.

Wow, that was a really neat trick keeping the old slides in. I'm going to check that out.
This is excellent.
Easiest way to install drawer slides.
Highly recommended
the best purchase ever. i never had brushless tools before to compare but those are 10 times better then any other battery operated tool i ever touched.
Absolutely genius Martin! We'd call that Southern Ingenuity around here. Thank you so much!
Thank you
Wow! Very intelligent solution you came up with. Thank you

check A&H Turf online for good and cheap slides and hardware.
wow! i wish i watch your video before buying all the tools needed to install the drawer.
So satisfying to watch! Great work!!
Brilliant way of replacing tracks. Thank you for posting it!

You just saved me SOOO much time!!! Thank you!
how did we all recently decide we needed to watch this 6 y/o video
All I can say is I'm glad I did because his method is genius! Guess there is no time limit on learning.
We have drawers to fix 🥴

Now that I know, I'm buyin the slides and supplies myself. I want to completely replace my cabinets. Guess I'll keep watching youtube. Thanks Martin.

+staninjapan07 you can put the slides underneath, will be easier. I'm pretty sure you can find videos on CZcams of how to do it
That was a great solution - nice job !

Thank god for you tube, that is fantastic way to replace drawer slides I have ever seen

Awesomeness thank you Thank you
This is such a good process! Great information Martin. If you ever need a job in the Denver area get in touch.
:)...Sweet trick, Leaving in the old rails to guide the slides...:)...Very practical....
Saves so much measuring and aligning

Great video. Thank you!
Awesome video, thank you..
Good stuff, thanks!
Also, it would be nice to see what your kitchen looks like finished. Did you put knobs on your drawers?
Very good instructions, thank you!
This is a good way to replace slides counter top or not thanks
I literally have the same cabinet and trying the same thing. How did you remove the old slide from drawer? I didn’t see any screw heads on mine.
Quick question, so when you have already installed the new drawer slides on top of the old drawer slides inside of the cabinet box how can you pull out the new guides without access from the top. I have granite counters already installed and wanted to follow your method.

Awesome I love the soft close sliders
+Charlotte Diaz thanks
Genius!

The one you have in the kitchen is different style and usually a lot more expensive then the one I have in this video.
You just saved me so much time....
Bravo!

+Thorson Painting :-)
omg.. this is just what i was looking for. thanks so much
Nice work!
Thank you!
Nice video I'm gonna copy this thanks
super helpful video. what type of wood did you use for the spacer/support? also what type of nail gun is that?
I used pine boards 1x3 If I remember correctly but that's just what I had available.
I have seen several vids on replacing slides and your method is the best! what brand drawer slides did you use?
+Robert Berg I'm not sure about the brand but I bought then from overstock.com and I believe if you go there you'll see them
How did you remove the old drawer glides from the drawer? Mine have rivets
Outstanding.
Genius! Thanks for sharing info and video!
+danloyol no problem 😀
you`re welcome :)
Very tutorial video, I’m going to try it.
fabulous!
Great idea!!
+CTSully1 thanks
Well done 👏
wow u r so skilled
Genius, Thanks.
How are you liking those Rockwell tools so far?
Good luck on your cabinets
Great job. Thanks.
+ec driver thanks
very helpful video!
Excellent 👌
Hey Martin, excellent vid. Where did you get those slides and what brand are they?
I get them from overstock.com or from amazon.com . I choose them by the reviews and the price. I don't have a specific brand. You can also check a&hturf.com
Hi, great video! I have the same issue. How did you remove the old slider in the back of the cabinet? I don't see a screw by the white plastic.
Just pull it out. It's just flimsy plastic stuck in a whole. There is no hardware holding it. Might need to wiggle it a bit but they come out fairly easy... At least most of them do
@@MartinMinkov thank you
love it

My favorite part is when the slide pulls the drawer in on its own!
Great work
Thank you
Thanks!

I love it but I can't remove my counter top. Plus I would need a thinner stud, because I have less room to work with.

I might be wrong, but I do not think he used a socket in the back. Since he screwed the slide to the side of cab
Where did you buy the 10-pack of soft-closing drawer glides? I need 24 pairs and am looking the most inexpensive option. Thanks!
+Chadwick Anderson you have 2 options. Amazon or overstock.com. They have the best prices and practically free shipping. Good luck :-) and check all the reviews before you buy anything. I always find important info in the reviews that helps me choose the best fit for my needs

im a perfectionist just like you my man
Thank you sooo much!!! Have the same issue!!!!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡
What size screws did you use to not go through the cabinets on the ends.
3/4 inch #6
If installed like this do we need the rear mounting bracket or back socket?
No need for the rear mounting bracket
@@MartinMinkov I was hoping that mounting bracket wasn't needed, I just wanted to make sure. Thank you for replying so quickly.
Can you still do this if the countertops are already on the cabinets?
Yes. The countertops will make it little harder but most of the times I do it with the counters already in place.
very good video.
Thank you
Great video. Where did you get the slides?
+PillCosby overstock.com.
Excellent
Thanks

Nice and interesting Martin
What size screw was used to attach the 3/4 wood on the sides?
1 inch. But depends on the thickness of the cabinet sides. Make sure the screw us little shorter then the cabinet side and the wood block together
Martin great video. What is the manufacture of the slides? Brands name and where purchased would be appreciated. Thanks
