  • Pulled from the comments section and made real, we go on at (extreme) length about the pros and cons of wheeling Zoidberg back-to-back on 1.9 and 2.2 JConcepts Ruptures.
    Did they both do well? Sure.
    Did one do better than the other? Umm... maybe?
    Was it a good time on a cool 'n sunny morning? Heckin.

    I feel honored. Happy to have peaked your interest enough to not only get a reply comment but a whole video in response?! Sir you have made my week.

    Ruptures are a great tire! Run a 1.9 set on a TRX4 Sport. Used to run them on a Capra, but the Capra really wanted a 2.2 tire. Hard to find in stock anywhere. I went deep into a internet hole and found some shop online in CO. that had some in stock 🤣

    The 2.2's vs the 1.9's is an interesting bit on that 'ol Zoid. The stair step part. Consider this if you would. The final drive ratio is what made the difference in Zoid being able to make that "punch" over the first part of it. Wheel speed is king for pop. While he does look a bit off on 1.9's I honestly believe he would do better in the "competitions". I'd be interested in seeing another cat on 2.2's just for reference. Daphne is calling your name sir. I think she would like the big curves as long as the power is there to drive it.

      Daphne would lose about half her steering throw on those massive Ruptures. I honestly can't think of another rig here big enough to clear them.

    The face is 100% Sam Eagle of Muppet fame. I also had a feeling you were making a Spongebob reference. From that same bubble stand episode, I will sometimes blurt out, technique! technique! 😂. I agree with your conclusions on this one. Trade-offs with the taller and shorter tires. It's fun to see them compared!

      "Swing it around town" (which might actually be a paraphrase) is in my permanent lexicon.
      I'm definitely seeing Sam the Eagle now.

    This is great thanks I qualified for class 3 finals using my 1.9 ruptures so I was wondering if it was worth going up in size

    Get u some "D's Straps" for the front of that rig. If u don't know they're like limiting straps that pulls ur front down but still gives u ur flex. They work and they're good 👍

    Well now you have to test Rovers. At ~5.5" they're (the 2.2's, don't get the 1.9's, they're like 3.3") between the 1.9 and 2.2 Ruptures in size, and some people claim JConcepts allegedly "borrowed" HPI's design for the tire.

    I wonder if the slightly more squirrely bump and changes of attitude on the studder step come from that slightly higher center of gravity w/ the 2.2's vs the 1.9?

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Před rokem +1

      I think that's absolutely part of it, as the 2.2 is WAY bigger than the 1.9. CGH has to go up close to an inch.

    As an idea would love to see you do some shock recommendations/testing as well as some weight testing light versus heavy truck feel it would be some good content as your tire comparison videos seem to be pretty thought out and comprehensive thanks for some great videos 👍

    Looks like it gets more flex with the 1.9's and it also looks a little more scale. Might just be me

    Thanks for abusing Zoidberg for science. Those were some nasty drops off the ramp.
    He did look silly on 1.9's. I agree he should stay on 2.2's.
    Can you take Argentum out on the ramp to empirically test if overdrive helps with climbing?

    • @philthy5058
      @philthy5058 Před rokem

      Overdrive vs no overdrive along with overdrive vs front weight.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Před rokem +1

      I can indeed. I think I need to arrive at a slightly more elegant solution for temporary front weight, rather than duct tape + Lufkin.😂

    • @Andy_Yates
      @Andy_Yates Před rokem

      Where I find overdrive useful are those ledges that'll suck the rear tires if your fronts don't pull them up the face faster. Awkward situation to describe, but I think you know that type of obstacle. The turning radius being the other benefit and fighting the push, while side-hilling suffers as the rear drags.

    looks to small on the rig DO NOT hello sir , a suggestion for the step maybe you should score some ribs on the ramps to get more grip - it is basically too hard in my opinion for amy rig - not to much just a couple to give it a fighting chance.
    and about the tires - are the way to go on the ZOID -he is phenomenal on these - hence the win overall the Invitational - plus the 1.9 looks too small on the rig

    Yikes it looks awful on 1.9, 2.2 look really good tho
