The wolf in vr lore is all coming together now! This mysterious man in a suit has hired wolf to jump between different times and different universes. His first job was in the future when the zombie apocalypse breaks out. He was put into the body of tourist. To put a stop between two factions. But wolf rings a clocktower bell and kills everyone. Messing it up. The man then takes wolf to the 1940’s where he’s put into the body of a detective to solve murders. But one day on his final case he dies. He’s then reborn as a ghost after his death. Into a giant ghost. His job is to help a little boy and his mother. After he successfully succeeded with this task the man puts him into the body of another detective. But this time not for crimes. To get rid of evil ghosts that invaded the world after he became a good ghost. After he rids the world of this evil the man knocks him out and wakes him up out of stasis. This time some scientist who survived a alien invasion in a middle of no where top secret military lab. He’s forced to pretend he knows his collueges even though he never experienced the cascade himself. On the way he meets alyx. A 20 something year old who is helping him through out this invasion. Suddenly though alyx’s father dies and wolf starts to disobey the mysterious mans orders. Against his will he forces wolf to go back in time and go into the body of alyx to complete yet another task. Disrupting the timeline afterwards. After he completes this task the mysterious man drops off wolf to robots who have taken over their own universe. Forcing him to work as punishment. But then he destroys the virtual world thanks to some fellow rebels. But as he destroys the virtual world he’s sent back to 1908. He’s lost some of his memory and the things he does remember is altered to believe it was a dream. Where will this daring adventurer go next? Tune in next time to a wolf in vr....

Me: NOT A GOOD MUMMY! DEFINITELY NOT A GOOD MUMMY!!
(As a big fan of mythology and puzzles, I feel like this series is gonna be an absolute joy to watch. Also, those are called things you had to put in the sarcophagus are called canopic jars! They contain certain organs from the body (liver, intestines, lungs and stomachs to be specific) and were buried with the body so the deceased would be complete in the afterlife. The heart however would be left inside the body so that it might be weighed by the Jackal god Anubis against one of the feathers of Ma’at, the goddess of truth, to see if you’d lived a good life. If it balances out, you’d be let into the afterlife. If not, well then the lion-croc-hippo goddess Ammit would eat ya.)

  • @Enderhippo
    @Enderhippo Před 3 lety +7

Considering the artifacts apparently contain trapped souls, I wonder if the first one (the one from the safe) contains the soul of the player from the first three games? That would make the first ending of Room 3 canon, and also explain why the Craftsman is still around to send letters.

@@Volpha I just study, but you're very close. In the Egyptian afterlife, Anpu (Anubis) would lead you to the Hall of Ma'at, the Goddess of Truth, to stand before the 42 Judges and Usir (Osiris). There, you would have to assure them that you had fulfilled your purpose, your assigned place in the scheme of things, your role in the Divine Plan. That you had not wasted your time, or failed to do your job.
Then, after you had made your defense as to why you had done your job, your heart would be weighed against the Feather of Ma'at. And if you had lied in your defense, the heart would be heavy, and you would be devoured by Amenti (Ammit), Devourer of Hearts -- and cease to exist.
If you had told the truth, however, your heart would be light, and you would pass on to journey toward the Field of Reeds, an eternity of life free of disappointment and hardship, where you would fulfill your role forever.

@@AWolfinVR if I may, could I request you revisit that game sometime? A friend of mine and I were discussing a few things neither of us had seen anyone do in that game, like:
What happens if you play through 5 times going through all the Scouts, if that unlocks a secret ending.
What happens if you fail a test other than the fail-o-tron.
What happens if you put "data" instead of "arts" into the keypad in Nick's section because that word is also 4 letters on Riley's slide. Or if there's any other places with keypads where that could be implemented.
Body swapping to see what all the puppet writing says, like using the looking glass in Bendy And The Ink Machine to see all the secret writing.
If it's possible to body swap before you're supposed to in the game, and if it is possible if it will trigger any different voice lines from Scout or just the "our psychic link must be going haywire" line.
What happens if you do nothing at the tea party, I am curious to see if the lights really will turn red and you get a game over.
We would try it ourselves, but neither of us have a vr headset. This is just stuff we've never seen anyone do in the game, could be good for a secrets/easter egg hunt. And replaying it would be relatively easy for someone who's already played/watched it, you know where the scripted jumpscares are and how to do the puzzles. Granted so do we but again, neither of us have a vr headset unfortunately.
No pressure, if you don't wanna do it you don't have to, these are just things we're curious about and will probably do for ourselves once one of us gets a vr headset and recording stuff.

The symbol was the ankh, the Egyptian symbol of life.
The organ containers are called canopic jars, though they're usually made of pottery or stone, rather than wire. The heads are the children of Har (Horus}:
The baboon is Hapi, representing the north. His jar contains the lungs, and is protected by the goddess Nephthys.
The jackal is Duamutef, representing the east. His jar contains the stomach, and is protected by the goddess Neith.
The human is Imsety, representing the South. His jar contains the liver, and is protected by the goddess Isis.

Thank you for doing this as many (like myself) cannot afford a PS and VR equipment, so you can imagine the disappointment when I found that their 5th game is in VR only.
But now that I found you, Im going to make some coffee and watch this video with my new device that makes it available to watch CZcams on tv!!!

If you played Room 3, you’d know that The Craftsman is the antagonist from that game. It’s also revealed that he’s the antagonist to the 1st 2 games. Room 4: Old Sins is very trippy, though. It’s generally related to the other games, but it doesn’t seem to follow either the protagonist from The Room, 2, and 3 or The Craftsman, though. Maybe we’ll see some references to R4: Old Sins here?

Oh hey, I remember The Room. It was one of those games I saw while browsing the "Overwhelmingly Positive" category on Steam several years ago. I ultimately decided not to play it (a lot of the "Overwhelmingly Positive" games tend to be cult classics, i.e. not for everyone, and I got that vibe from The Room), but it seemed interesting. Nice to see their jump to VR seems to have gone well.

Fireproof did an amazing job of bringing the game to VR. My only criticism is that the game was a little short and some of the puzzles were a little too easy.

this game is generally best played after completing the room trilogy and old sins and doing a bit of research online about some of the more hidden yet still crucial lore points. otherwise a lot of references and story will make no sense.
