Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu

This is Machu Picchu. Home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Discovered in 1911 by US explorer Hiram Bingham, the citadel is deemed one of the world's finest examples of landscape architecture.
Machu Picchu was declared a Peruvian Historic Sanctuary in 1982 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
