I wasn’t surprised to hear what Payton said about playing in the Iron Bowl. I was there and during the game I said, Payton gets it and he became and Auburn man tonight. 🦅

Enjoyed hearing PT talk at length. Hoping for big improvements with PT being here for winter workouts and spring ball, etc. Lots of positive vibes for ‘24 season. Simplified offense, improved coaching, attention to detail, improved o-line and receivers. All trending in the right direction.

I love Cam Newton(my fav player ever) and I’d argue he had less talent to help him out but I mean it’s Joey B. By the end they were just crushing teams. Auburn struggled with everyone that year haha
.....bc of the talent gap between the 2 teams. Put that 2019 AU defense with that Cam-powered O and we would have crushed everyone....there would have been a couple of shut outs imo

I know you look at Cam and just think like “that man cannot lose” but when you get 2 of them in the building against each other. One of them has to lose.

Nope, Cam was not only the best QB in the SEC in 2010, he was also the best RB! He was two players that should have been MVP, so he was MVP and the Heisman winner...Burrow had an incredible team around him, Cam did not, over achiever's on offense and a rag tag bunch on D that did the best they could with only a few standouts while giving up points and yards like they were free.

That remains to be seen, PT was dead LAST in the SEC in 23' with a QBR of 129 while leading a passing offense that was dead LAST in the SEC, avg 162 yards a game...PT would have to make a quantum leap to be a "high level" QB...from last to the top 3 in the SEC,... impossible?? Nothing is impossible for argument's sake, but highly unlikely imo, We shall see.

Cam Newton had the greatest season in Auburn history but Burrow had the greatest season in college football history. Burrow wins.
Why are we even asking this question? We haven't had a good qb in a long time. Cam was okay, but our team sucked and the defense was horrible, which is why the offense had to score so many points and run with the qb so much. Just a sad team, and I don't even accept it as a championship team. I don't see auburn making it to the top again. Especially if we keep getting trash qb's like Thorne
