Unique RibCat V12 Lamborghini. Old footage from 1996. Very nice sound!!

This is old footage from a small show i Karlskrona Sweden 1996. Two boats, a small racer and the Unique Ribcat V12 Lamborghini 800 hp . It is very loud and fast.

Official sanctioned world record:101.8 knots with 700 hp on the propshaft. One engine, 3000+ kg of boat. This was in 1996 and the large outboards of today were not available. RibCat was later outfitted with a bigger V8 and beefier drive but performance dropped. Even later, it was rebuild with triple outboards and speed was probably improved. However, this has not been proven in a sanctioned record attempt. Just snapshots of a GPS.
In 1996, we saw almost 105 knots on the GPS before the engine hit the rpm limit. But such readings don't count.
If you know anything about boats and efficiency, you will take notice...

hello i did build the engines for this boat and the record its so nice to see it again after all this years... i belive it was sold to norway but this is only rumors...... thanks for a nice memory from a racing engine builder

Nice to read this! Engines like that are engineering pieces of art. I saw one of them and thought it was an F1 engine since it was so beautiful and sophisticated!

First off, Lamborghini v12 in a boat = awesome. But that boat is way too big for a single Lamborghini V 12. Single Allison or rolls Royce maybe....

They have problem on one side . It,s leaking air so it was not possible to get som real Speed. This boat have today 4 big outboardengines and get mutch higher speed. This setup was cool but not so fast. But The sound is awesome
