- An amazing scene, so very well played by both, Gillian Anderson and Pat Skipper, unfortunately deleted due to lack of time... you know the drill 42:00 minutes...
I love the way Scully (even though sick and feeling like crap, let alone the thoughts she's having) answers him so quickly about whether or not her decision was worth it. Puts him right into his place.
Interesting cut scene. Bill Scully really made for wonderful mild antagonist for Scully and even Mulder at times. Made for great drama. I kinda wish they had kept this scene.
Marta GO yeah it’s a deleted scene....it was cut from the original episode release. So yeah, we saw it but it was a deleted cut....
I would have been fine with this scene if he said this while Scully WASN'T dying of cancer... Since she was, I'm glad they cut it because it makes Bill look pretty monstrous.
Bill saying that she kinda chose Melissa dying cause she joined the FBI was stupid. It's like, if I buy a car and a drunk driver slams into us, killing a passenger in my car, it's not my fault because I bought the car.
Of course it is but this dialogue is so accurate in what happens in families that suffer such losses. It's often not rational.

Yeah, this scene is like cold water to the face. It would have been fine and more understandable IF his little sister wasn't dying of cancer. But given that fact and the fact that we are supposed to believe Bill loves her, this would have been a terrible scene to leave in the episode... No loving brother would fly across the country to his terminally ill sister to say THIS lol
2:35 "I didn't come here just to lay this on you" -- says every asshole who tries to unload their conscience and then feels like the shitass they are after.
This is the first deleted scene that made sense, that was called for.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate Pat Skipper's acting, please? That scene was so damn accurate. Too bad they decided on not keeping it. And how not to mention Zimmer's perfect soundtrack. Thank you for sharing this video!!

Yeah it’s a powerful scene but it makes Bill too cruel so I can see why they cut it.
Yeah, he's enough of a dick in this episode as cut.
He's already painted as the stand-in Shotgun Daddy when it comes her relationship with Mulder, but this scene would have made him an even bigger prick.
Now, we see the truth behind Bill and his hatred for his own sister, he even tried to blame her for Melissa and their own father. And whatever happened to Scully's other brother that we never see.
Personally, I think Bill is exactly what he called. A sorry S.O.B!!!!!
"Your brother's name is Bill, and he hates me!" This scene tells us that Lt. Commander William Scully Jr blames Dana too over Melissa's death.
I'm not up to Scully's cancer arc. And I already know it's going to make me depressed.
Wonder why this wasn't shown in the episode?...Love seeing Scully she's beautiful with and without makeup...🙂🦇👁👁

They should have brought her brother Charles in during s8 while Mulder was gone or in s9 as the person who really sent her to that ship in the season premiere.

I would have kept this scene. We saw so little of Scully's family and this shows so much of it.
I never quite understood why her family wasn’t proud of Scully becoming a FBI agent???

Bill is just awful
I disagree... family relationships can be complicated, Bill sees his (now) only sister constantly in danger & being put in danger by the antics of her "wacky" partner... he obviously finds it hard to express his emotions properly, witness the awkward hug.
Not all families are well-adjusted & loving... dysfunction is more common than people think... DAMHIK 😒
The cancer arc was painful to watch, our heroine vulnerable & mortal, but it showed her strength & stoicism. I think Chris Carter was brilliant & he wrung sooo many emotions out of the fans, sometimes we even cursed him for the cruel & tragic situations Scully ,& Mulder, found themselves in.

Bill Jr should have been in dress whites to match the shot of Bill Sr from _One Breath_ but I guess that would have made him invisible against an overexposed background.
Music choice is good but it’s too loud. Please redo the video with appropriate sound levels? Thanks for posting this deleted scene. I can understand why they’d delete it, but it also shows the complex relationship those two have. He’s totally unreasonable though.
I'm glad they cut this because this makes me hate Bill and before I liked him because he didn't like Mulder 'cause he thought he was bad for his sister.

Horrible choice of music. Better to leave it without a background track than to taint Zimmer's score representing hope and perseverance.
