76mph is awesome with that setup! You're not even spinning that large props (the 4092 can probably handle more) nor that high rpm. I would try 8S to get it to mid-high 80's 😎. My guess for your 100mph project: a rigger!
Had a couple of guys recommended replacing the bearings before going 8s, so I think I'm gonna order a set of bearings first just to play it safe. Yea should see 80 plus on 8s
Hello Big B I'm having 1 of them days ! Got my new 6s battery from SMC today so i charged it an wen't to take boat out for a run about 30 mins before dark that was at 730 pm tonight an boat made it about 350 ft out an smoke was bad boat stoped an spun around so tryed to hit the gas to get it back to shore an more smoke but didnt move gave it a few seconds an tryed 1 more time an lots more smoke i didnt have recovery boat so went an got fishing pole with tennis ball by the time i got back it was way out in middle so went an got a friends boat took me 30 mins to find it in the dark on water (no wind no moon lite an fog starting couldn't see to push it even with flash lite tapes to his boat no luck here it is 1:48 am an boat is still out floating in lake now i wish i wouldn't of boat a black boat so have to wait till sun rise hope it will still be out there floating when i go back i think i must of smoked the motor wish me luck :(
I don't understand what happened i had the osc 90 amp esc an a 6s cat pack from osc but the damage i find is cat pack is still soldered on but the + cable is burn out of esc an 1 of the 3 motor wires are unsoldered right out of the other side of esc an its the 1 across from the + going into the esc an i only had it Val crowed down were the old esc was but it burnt up bad ! An little wires going to the remote sencer are melted but still connected to the esc but its so close to the + that burnt of esc that it could cause the wire coating to melt . so it wasnt pinched an none of my sadder joints melted an the capacitors on cat pack look fine. Could my remote sencer in boat be to weak for 6s ? im lost on how to prevent this from happing again but as of right now i would say i need a new remote sencer an esc but i dont even know how to set 1 to my stock remote. I wish i could find a flaw in something i did that way at lest i would know how to avoid it from happing again please help this is on that heat wave boat. If u want pictures ill send them just tell me were to send them.
Nice run, if you don't mind changing bearing, you might be able to get away with more voltage on the leopard 4092. I have the 2080kv version on 6s with a cut down x450 to 45mm. I have a rewired 4092 that is 2751kv, the guy who rewired my 4092. Ran the rewired motor on 6s so the leopards can take more rpm. But the bearing will wear out fast at the higher revs. As far as prop goes, that 1730kv, I saw on offshore electrics forum where someone was running up to octura x460 on 6s with the 1730kv for speed runs.
Roger that, thanks for the confirmation, I'm gonna order a set of bearings. I don't get it, company's build amazing motors using decent materials just to ruin it with a crappy set of bearings. Blows my mind.
That noise at the end sounded like a pole on the esc output had a bad connection like the motor was trying to run without one of the phases. Great speed probably your 76 run might have only been one of your runs if those batteries slipped forward between the 76 and the 71 runs. Once you stop them shuffling forward you might get a couple more 76mph runs I would try them right back because It kind of seams too stable, like it’s slightly wet. Anyway it was a fantastic speed run day. I am so keen to see what you have coming my guess is a rigger. I bought one out of Romania It’s called an Endgame it’s about a metre long I’m running a tp4060 1650 kv with 2x4s 100C HRB 5000 mah cheap lipo’s in series = 8s and a 1917 abc cleaver with a slight round on the ears of the prop. Also a 200 amp ZTW crap esc I’m getting 167kmh with no temps over 40celsius and getting 6 passes about the length of your speed run spot all over 100 mph. With these low temps I could prop up but I am just so happy to get so many passes over a hundred I am just going to enjoy it for a while and possibly fine tune what I have a touch more before I go up in the prop. So so glad you got back out to the speed run spot. I can’t spend the kind of money it takes to use the quality gear you use so it is fantastic being able to see where you take things. Thanks mate it’s a blast watching.
It was definitely salt water, it's happened before, I rinsed it off with fresh water when I got home. I does sound like it's single phasing but it was the salt
"entirely too stable at those speeds." 🤣😂🤣 The Big B method is to power it up until it becomes unstable, then create a work-around to solve the instability issues; then power it up more..
what do you think about the xl2 for the price it is?? im just curious because i really wanted to buy one but using 150s for a fraction of the cost using a higher kv motor cuts the price down to less than half. creating the same RPMs with a much lighter set up in the hull? i was just curious??
The Hydra is worth the money, it's a beefy speed control, I'm still on stock parameters (lol) about to install all the castle link firmware on my laptop so I can change timing and check data logs. If you wanna save some money get the castle X8s or xlx2 with a stump fab cooling block. Saves about 100bucks
@@IRONCLADRC yeah i thought about that, i will never use the datalogging castle has always been too overpriced, but ill probably get one in the end. thanks

How have you freed up ur driveline? I have lubed the shit out of everthing and i still cant get more than 58mph on 6S on 150c SMCs. Also I hv the boat running a lil bit dry. Any suggestiins would be greatly appreciated.
Slightly blueprinted the bottom, also upgraded the stuffing tube and lowered it about 3mm.. lowering the stinger really helped free up this boat. No Teflon linner

Still waiting on that 21 catamaran, and yes it'll be a twin for sure. Almost done with the little hydro, but that's not a new boat, I'll say this It's a big boy boat

@@IRONCLADRC when we were running the hydrostream with the 250hp Yamaha, it had to have a low water pickup, meaning a scoop in front of the skag. Otherwise anything faster than 70 it can’t pick up the water
Watching the video on my laptop while texting on my phone. Your killing it dude.
Scratch builds , blue printing ride paths , sharpening rudders and hardware. Making props. Your as professional as it comes to rc boats
Thanks, brother! There's quite a few guys that will disagree with ya on that one, lol.
