I am a country music fan because I grew up on Southern Rock. To me, it fit right in with my other favorites: Soul, R&B, the funk of James Brown, plus the singer songwriters of pop music in the 1970s. But before that my daddy loved Ray Charles and the Genius put out a great album: Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music in 1962. I am also a country music fan because it is honest and I am not talking about these newcomers. Garth Brooks is my favorite country artist. I am glad Chris Stapleton is keeping it real. @@chi8772 being from the boot myself it’s definitely nola brass elements there. those horns are a dead giveaway lol. but it’s not zydeco you hear. two different sounds cause zydeco is mostly accordion not trumpet and a lot faster in pace. It has zero jazz in it luv. It’s mostly country, cajun, creole, R&B , native, afro-carribean all into one. we dont play trumpet in zydeco at all. this is def nola brass band for sure when we second line and a lil bit of jazz. not coming at you just wanted to explain both genres dont share the same elements at all. you was right about it being Louisiana country music tho 😂 we cuts up down here all the time to zydeco
