Nicely done. The one metric cited for myth number 8, that students 'perform better' online than in face-to-face reflects research that did not/cannot actually measure learning against performance assessment. While I have wonderful success with some of my online courses, I can also compare my face-to-face university courses that are ALSO taught by colleagues online. Their students will often 'get' better grades by 1-2 full letter grades on average, but the rigor is completely different and the overall testing does not actually measure 'learning' nor overall cognition of concepts. Getting to the deeper learning assessment is possible online, but difficult if there are too many students in the course, if one wants to provide the levels of personal feedback needed to facilitate motivation and learning. It is important to remember that deep learning is not always possible with MOOC style environments, but all of us ARE getting better at these challenges. Still, a science lab kit, for example, sent to someone's home, is NOT the same as a university science laboratory.
