It’s so satisfying to see a craftsman actually take pride in their work and do the job right ,(i.e. ensuring every tile is precisely cut, set, levelled and consistently even.) Also, notice how clean his work area is. Another sign of attention to detail. You know this work will probably outlast the building it’s being installed in. He seems very efficient and knows exactly what he needs to do. So many, (not all), are all about speed and volume to make more $$. But the quality suffers as a result. This gent has both the speed, (even with the video sped up), and precision. A true master of his craft.

Damn... I was I tile floor installer many years ago but we used to do it with the old school straight edge and tile saw. There are some new tools here that I have never even seen before. Looks like technology is helping up the tiling game... pretty sweet!
I've been in the trade for many many years and have come across some great setters. You Sir are up there with the best I've seen. Incredible. You can fetch any price you want and I'm sure people will wait their turn to have you do their work.

Observe craftsmen in fine woodworking, they feel the wood for fine differences

Awesome meticulous work by this man!!! I used install acoustical ceilings and loved and took pride in doing a fine job. General contractor on the jobs I worked on would tell me what a nice job I did and I appreciated that. Unfortunately we all worked with that one guy or more that didn’t care about work quality and for that reason I would ask my boss, not to put me on same job with them. Their motto was, don’t worry it looks good from my house…. lol

His cuts were spot on and the drain was done so with great skill. Those 'craftsmen' you speak of used the tools of their day. I'm sure some dolt said the same about them. A tool is only as good as the person using it. This isn't some 6x6 clay tile where you can chuck a bunch of pieces away when you mess up with your nippers like in 'your day'. These are very expensive tiles laid with a hairs difference between them all slanting towards the drain. It was masterly done with tools that allowed him to minimize waste and maximize profit. Things you probably know nothing of. As a matter of fact, I'm sure you were always nothing more than a Time clock puncher. Lunch is at 12:00. Now get busy cleaning the buckets cub. He is a master and his tools are amazing , couldn't get a tiler where I live and had to do a bathroom myself, never got so much hardship in my life.

@kevvcop that's y I always keep my fingers clean. Eit a simple feel over the tiles I can tell if the tile is flush wit the other tile and so on
I’ve always used my fingers to count and this has never failed me. 😅

The optical illusion effect with the drain was absolute genius! How many tilers would actually think to do that let alone execute it to perfection.
None, unless they were paid to do it actually all it would took you to make it is sheet of paper linear, sharpy and let your imagination go wild.
None because most miss their geometry classes.
No tilers would think to do it. It’s not up for interpretation of the installer. This was paid for by the client.
This makes me kind of want to learn tiling, pretty cool.
