Not me learning to draw this so I can hand out a good reference for me artist. Honestly as someone with zero drawing experience the way you explained it was real helpful
thanks for the good learning
Thanks for this one!! My drawing sucks, I'm good at tracing(not really other people's stuff), mostly real skulls, flowers, animals, etc. I've been drawing, like you said, since i can remember, mostly with tattoos in mind(since the 80's). I just never took classes or any training... Hope all is well, have a great weekend. Take it easy.
Thanks Brandon for this video! I knew about breaking the design into simple shapes to redraw it but I didn’t know about using the lines to keep everything in alignment. That was great! Thank You! 🙏poppy
youre such a G bro, thanks for doing all that you do. currently saving up so i can join your course, having all this content in the meantime is truly a blessing.
This is awesome!!! I’ve been etching on black granite (portraits too). It’s quite a bit similar and I really thought it’d be fun to learn tattoo basics:)
Awesome man! Definitely helpful, I always over think when I'm drawing.
Thank you so much for this. When it comes to drawing I’m prob decent, if that. This video is going to help a ton when it comes to looking at drawing from this perspective.
thank you so much, i’ll be doing this to build up a portfolio
Thank you brandon learning new things everyday
Amazing video, found it super usefull and fast, looking forward for a more in depth video.
I just finished hand drawing some Sailor Jerry flash got about 6 designs finished. it's pretty fun. good to know your history too makes you respect and appreciate tattooing more.
I felt the same way, check out Ed Hardy if you haven't, him and Jerry were friends (Jerry died in 73) but Ed was credited with opening up the first Custom tattoo shop in North America, before that it was almost all flash, both pioneers.
@@derekandrews814 love Ed Hardy's work I just watched a video about him not too long ago. Definitely good stuff.
This was a great breakdown even for just learning art. Great video and great teaching! Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for this video! Which brushes are you using ? Also, which brush do you recommend to add color to the design ?
Thank you, Brandon. 😊
I just leveled up. Thanks
Ive always just drawn them by looking but like you did simple shapes and lines as to where it should go
Great tutorial! Do you have a video where you show up the "rules" about design choices and color pallettes a traditional tattoo flash should follow?
Look here on CZcams and look at info on Sailor Jerry, Bert Grimm, Cap Coleman etc. There are only 4-5 accepted colors in old school traditional. Black, red, green, yellow, sometimes blue.
There are loose ratio rules of black to red to bare skin etc....
fantastic video, another trick if you don't already know, if you double tap anywhere in your pencil (not iPad) you can switch between rubber and pencil :)
Awesome 💓
Can you show us how to make your brushes that you use to create these designs
I’d also love to see the break downs of your brushes. “Sketch daddy” and “digi pen steady “ as well as “technical pen” if it’s different from the original in procreate! Thanks in advance 😌
Thank you ❤️
Thank you
Great video bro
Awesome tutorial man! How does one get the brush setting you used for the black lines?
Hola...estaría cool que pudieras traducir tus videos al español para la gente de lationoamérica...saludos
Thank you for all you do for us who Need this help. What Pad are you using to draw on?
Can I put these in my portfolio or is it better to come up with my own designs
The iPad is an awesome tool for tattoo artists. I've used mine for every tattoo I've done. Even if you are literally just copying an image line by line for tattoo, it's great to use to go in and clean up the image, remove artifacts around the image, clean up the lines, etc. especially if someone gives you a low quality image they want tattooed.
Would you happen to know what app he is using in the video? Thank you.
@@skulkem5479 it's procreate! It's not free but it's a cheap one time payment and it's sooo worth it, I use it too :)
@@skulkem5479looks like Procreate it’s pretty kick ass once you get the hang of it
@@skulkem5479Im trying to figure that out too but I think it’s procreate, it’s only on iPads and the most common app for tattoo artists
What is a steady inker brush on procreate did you have to buy an add on separately and where
what brush set do you have there? i have to get it need it badly! i only bought the set mini tats and it only had 4 brushes
What drawing pad are you using or would recommend?
What pen do you use as your steady ink? And/or what settings do you use. I’m having a hard time finding that sweet spot.
Thanx and Well done for doing this CZcams thing. Also a question , do you think this no slips paper feel screen stickers or rubber pen tips help? Cause ipad is a bit too slippery
I like the screen protector more for sure
Tablet and App?
its an ipad with the app "procreate".
I need your brush set on procreate!!!!
What's that pen you used on procreate that had such sleek lines?
Hi Brandon, what software do you use on your tablet, looks like it is a lot easier using your tablet rather than using a pen and paper, cheers mate
Hey man, I'm using Procreate on my Ipad
Question. What tablet/program do you use for sketches
What is the best application for drawing tattoos or editing them on an ipad /tablet please 🙏????
How do you get such clean lines in procreate?? Mine are always so blurry
What app or tool or software are you using to make the stencils I really like that
it’s procreate
For someone practicing drawing to build their portfolio....would you recommend drawing with a pencil or using pro create every day? Thanks
Pencil and brush, and digital
Crazy how many people think it’s the iPad or the brush set or the pencil, just draw more and it won’t matter
You have such an interesting accent, where are you from? Do you currently live in Australia? Love the tutorial btw!!
Pennsylvania but moved to tn 7 years ago
@@Tattooing101man, I'm with the other guy. You have a slight Aussie accent. Very interesting tbh!
What Ipad do you use?
Is that an iPad w/ Procreate or something else? What would be the best tablet and drawing software to use? Could anyone please advise? I definitely like the idea of working on a larger screen like that with a full-sized pen rather than a tiny stylus.
It’s an iPad with Procreate
Where do I get those brushes?
awesome! What tablet and software do you use?
I'm using an Ipad, and the app I'm using is Procreate
@@Tattooing101 any chance you can do a tutorial on procreate or how did you learn to use it?
Whats name of brush set i cant seem to find thanks 😊
what ipad model is this?
"I wouldnt recommend copying them, you want to learn how to draw" "but also hey here's a book of ours you can buy from us with 74 designs you can print off and tattoo right away."
LMFAOOO
i think it’s just a means of practice of technique rather than design itself
Yep. Then the book has a disclaimer “these are for reference, don’t copy my original designs”. Motherfu€€er these designs are from generations ago. They aren’t YOURS in the first place. It’s become a real clown show
Is that an iPad and what app?
Procreate
What app is that?
Procreate on Ipad
So basically it’s ok to copy other peoples design as long as we’re not tracing over it ??
No. It's okay to use other peoples designs for reference but you definitely should not be copying it exactly
Thankyou sir for advice do you have Instagram
