Smashed it mate, loved the 5050s, one of my favourite tricks when I can get them! Booking a day off work to skate is such a cool and freeing thing to do and it's a shame the session didn't work out for you. I actually tried cleaning my bearings like that once but then stressed that they weren't lubricated and never rode them. I might dig them out and see if they roll still!
Haha no worries about the session. You know the struggle, sometimes it's hard to make that board-body-mind connection. I usually just abandon my clips from those sessions that don't go my way, but I've been trying to be more real and authentic in these longer-form videos. Bearings don't really need lube per se, lube helps, but cleaning them with an alcohol-based solution (like Windex, or even better isopropyl) doesn't leave any moisture behind. Just something I'm trying lol. I do keep a bottle of speed cream in my skate bag just in case one of them is noisy or sticky when I'm out. Stay rad dude!
