Michelle, I took the ESL certification w/out studying and passed. Just remember to choose the most student centered answer. The TAG hours for GT are required training hours but not a certification.

Michelle!!! I’m also teaching 4th grade math with Eureka TEKS edition. Personally, I have loved it but it’s not fully aligned to STAAR so my advice is to take a look at the format of the test and try to embed questions modeled after it into your daily lessons. I can’t wait for your Eureka content and in the meantime, I’m happy to help you get acclimated to it if you ever need it. I know you’re going to do great! 🍎💛

I retired 20 years ago. I would interested in seeing a digital plan book. For me, I learned I need a paper planner that I actually need to write in. My brain works better that way.
I used a teacher planner for me and turned in digital plans to my admin. I’m a paper/pen gal, too!
GT hours are a must, not a certification, then other online trainings when you start. This is the calm before the chaos, so enjoy the summer while you can. Can’t wait for the upcoming videos. 😊

Also, I like the jeans brand Kut from the Kloth. They are sold at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack (discount store). A video on budgeting yourself and what you buy for your classroom would be awesome to see. I have a family, so I've been able to restrain myself. But with me transferring to a different school, I feel like I need to buy certain things in order to make this classroom my home away from home. Does that make sense?

I am a Texas teacher as well and good luck on the ESL test! I personally sucked at it and had to take it a few times before I passed bc I had been teaching awhile before it become mandatory and people say it’s harder for those who had already been teaching rather than new teachers. You’ve got it though I believe it!

Hi, Michelle! Welcome back from a teacher going into year 26. I am very picky about jeans, mainly because I need a 33 inch inseam and will only wear high waisted. I recently found some at Old Navy that I LOVE. At my school, they are very relaxed regarding dress code. We can wear jeans any day with any shirts. Some teachers even wear what look like workout leggings (which I think is a bit TOO casual).

Congratulations! I love Duluth Trading Company for jeans. They are a little expensive, but they have more customization in length and they have really nice, long front pockets. I love them for teaching.

I started buying men's jeans at Walmart. Lee brand has some nice jeans that fit nice. The best part is that a cell phone actually fits in the back pocket without falling out! And the front pockets are actually usable! I like the Lee Straight Taper and Lee Slim Straight.

The best jeans i love are the Maurices everflex denim. I get a new pair every year, and they last forever.

I'm also like you and like to measure out my classroom. I have made a word document showing the doors, closets even the outlets.i also have the measurements of the furniture so every summer I can look at it and change the things that didn't work. You can use ceiling tiles and door size to estimate the size of wall pretty accurately :)

I love my Levis, but ive also found that I really enjoy my american eagle jeans i got at a thift store. I find several when I go, and as someone who struggles with sizing of pants, it really fits comfortably and is great for work and has held up extremely well. Never had them tear or rip. I recently replaced a stained pair with that brand and still find that they're great. Highly recommend as someone who works at a school and can wear jeans. So excited for you! Thanks for the questions. Highly interested in thise video ideas, especially tbe planning for your classroom layout.

Jean recommendation: curve appeal and 1812. They have a stretchy waist band and come in stretchy materials as well as jean material and are pretty inexpensive. I've found them at TJ Maxx and Marshall's.

You will love Eureka Math. It is way better than iReady Math curriculum. I wonder if because you guys have iReady as your Universal Screener if you have the individual iReady lessons for students to complete online.

Hi Michelle! Congratulations! My district has used Eureka, previously. I like it...But it's bulky. This year we're using Eureka M2. Much more streamlined. Also. Take your time on the ESL certification. Find a prep program first. The exam is no joke. I'm a very good test-taker and it was the hardest.

I get to wear jeans as well. I have searched high and low for comfortable jeans that are also affordable. Kohl’s Sonoma brand is one of my favorites and Levi’s too. Walmart’s Time and True is a good one to try. Good luck in your search!!!
