I support Cheng Yi wholeheartedly and love to watch everything about even other videos after I'm done watching all his dramas available and movies that are available to be watched somewhere
Cheng Yi is so into the character as always, a powerful performance. He is cute, arrogant as an employer (in a good way), elegant as a swordsman, ingenious as a strategist ... just can't get enough of him. Have been watching his other dramas (even in a minor role) many times, just can't come back to this. His character suffers too much, which breaks your heart, every time he gets hurt. It's even worse that he dies at the end and that supposed "lover" lives on merrily! Wish that they had picked a better lead actress. Zhang yuxi is pretty like a doll, but her acting is so- so and she can't "fight". Remember her from Love and Redemption, she was all right, even though her crying scenes are unconvincing and her performance is unimpressive (honest comment, no personal attack, never heard of her before, haha). Thought that she would be a great lead actress with Cheng Yi because of her built and age. (Most of the other actresses just look too mature against Cheng Yi, especially the one in The Promise of Chang'an. Didn't even bother to look up her name. She is pretty too, but looks too old to be Cheng Yi's lover.) Wish that history could be altered. Cheng Yi's character didn't die at the end and appeared as a commoner to meet up with his love and live happily after - wishful thinking. Hope that the upcoming Cheng Yi series will have a better partner for him. He deserves the best (yes, prejudice there, haha!)
