Name: Waschbank River Lodge - Campsite
Short Description: Very nice campsite on the banks of the Orange river, just in the Free State. Terraced and grassed sites overlooking the river. On a game farm. Swimming pool, restaurant and a super ablution facility with large showers and hot water. All very clean and neat.
Access Road: The last 2Km’s are a good gravel road.
Date of Review: May 2024
Security: Fenced game farm. Access code provided on confirmation of booking.
Cell/Wi-Fi: Cell phone reception (we use MtN) as well as Wi-Fi in the restaurant.
Ablutions: Communal - big showers and lovely hot water. Super clean.
Water: Water taps. Potable
Power: Yes. Normal three pin plug as well as caravan blue plug.
Shop: No. But there is a shop just 7km’s at Gariep Dam.
Restaurant: Yes. We had dinner and breakfast and the meals were fantastic.
Swimming Pool: Yes, overlooking the river.
Other Activities: Swimming, hiking and game drives.
Fuel: No. 7Km’s to Gariep Dam
Location: Located 7Km’s from Gariep Dam, 3.5Km’s from 45Km’s from Colesberg.

NOTES: Their rules forbid reviews/photographs of the actual caravan park and/or lodge. So, I’ve not done a review, but only a short video of our stay. Apologies for that.
