You’re the man! I can’t believe that an issue like this doesn’t have more content. I spent hours trying to figure it out, and didn’t find anything through Samsung or online. Good job!
Holy Cow! Amazing! This was short sweet and to the point. Most effective, fixed my issue quickly, thank you so very much for your content!
Love you man, you solved a nightmare problem for me, couldn’t find the info anywhere, great much needed video 👌🏾
Nearly a year old video, but still saving lives in the present. This helped tremendously!
Thank you. I've been trying to fix this same issue for ever. I was looking everywhere online too. Changing the mode from 1.2 to 1.1 worked for me. I'm in business and a happy camper thanks to your video.
Thank you sooo much!!! Spent quite a while googling and watching youtube videos on how to fix it, but to no avail. Your fix took care of it within minutes!!
AMAZING!!!! I've been trying to figure this out for days and you fixed it in seconds. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Serious life saver! I was about to go nuts and found this! Thank you so much!
just got my first ultra wide monitor i thought my games couldnt be played on them because of this issue. Simple and straight to the point thank you brother
I love you! Searched for 2 hours and this lead me to the right direction. Fiddle with the settings on your monitor peeps!!
Thanks Luke! Just like you I was searching for hours until I figured it out myself. Then I realized the world needed a video showing how to fix this issue.
Finally someone showing and solving my exact problem. Thanks man!
Just got the G9 and thought I was toast. Your video showed up at the top and solved the issue in seconds. Thanks for taking the hassle out of setting this up!
Hey Lander! My pleasure! Enjoy your G9 Monitor!
Same boat. Thanks so much!
Where can I find how to do this on the odyssey OLED G9? The menu looks different
This is just excellent. I was about to return my ultrawide. I sucks that the manual does not make the difference clear between the hdmi-versions. Thanks a lot!
After many trials,,, looking around. Finally found this video and got my work laptop working just right on the 49 wide screen, Thank you !
Thank you so much. I could not get my older work laptop to show on screen. You tips (HDMI 1.4) saved the day. Cheers
Thank you so much. I have been trying to fix this for sometime and your video helped resolve it.
Life saver! Nice monitor man. Thanks from Brazil.
Thanks man, I was trying to figure this out for a while now. You saved the day !
THANK YOU!!! I have PhD in Computer Science and still did not how to fix it.
😂
This was very helpful! Was able to apply the same concepts to a new LG ultrawide...little bit of trial and error and its fixed! Thanks!
Could I bug you on how you worked the lg monitor? I got the lg ultra wide and still not able to do this! :(
@@l0vejoanne I set it to 3440x1440 for resolution on my computers display setting. In monitor setting, under input I have aspect ratio set to full wide and then the tricky piece was go to general, hdmi compatibility mode and set on.
omgggg still relevant 2 years later. struggled for HOURS scouring the internet and trying to connect my work computer to my Samsung monitor. Thank you so much for this savior of a video!
I can't even explain how happy I am to have found this video... THANK YOU
Thank you, great help, I’ve been figuring out for few hours, although mine is a Dell, found the similar thing on the menu to work on and it works😊
Love it!!! I was about to return this thing. Thank you for sharing.
Outstanding video, addressing the very issues I have. Very well explained. My menu is slightly different for the first step, though, so I will need my son to guide me through it. Thanks!
Thank you, Thank You! I spent far too much time messing around in NVIDIA Control Panel. Everything worked out of the box with proper sizing. I went into NCP to modify some settings and was stuck with this issue and couldn't get it to revert. I'm not sure why NCP changes made the HDMI 2.0 setting on the monitor have issues but my old GPU doesn't support that and this was the fix!
this was exactly what I needed to do, spent so much time configuring setttings
Amazing, worked first time - thanks a lot!
This just made my day. Spent hours trying to figure this out and found this solution. I have new machine with better gfx card coming but at least I can work until then. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!! This helped me so much. I have an acer but the theory you put out there helped me figure out my monitor.
Thank you. Liking and subbing will put this video first in the search to help others find a quick solution to the same issue. Again thanks.
Changing the HDMI version worked for me.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for posting! Problem solved right away! I wasted so much time and your video instantly helped.
Glad to help Aisha!
Thanks Pal.. Superb. Saved my lot of time..
Thanks, Olaf. This is super useful. I'm wondering though, if this display issue is happening to people who use work laptops/personal laptops/console setups? How are you all switching between the different setups? Surely you're not having to manually adjust the settings each time you want to game after work?
Hi Ezinma! We have a regular workstation PC without any graphic cards. I’m not home but I believe the monitors have two hdmi ports that allow multiple devices to be connected at the same time but only one device can run at a time.
Thanks, you just saved me hours of confusion and I cancelled the extra cables I ordered for my Odessey Neo
Thanks! I tried every other other suggestion but nothing worked, your method worked right away!
Did you have any issues with your ultra wide monitors after updating your Mac to Ventura OS?
OMG, thank you for sharing this. I did it and it worked perfectly.
This was great!!! Fixed MacBook Pro problem I was having. You did great!!! Best resolution I’ve gotten on the ultra wide than having to buy the cord to get the full resolution
You are awesome! I went back to an old monitor (Samsung 49") after my new UW failed and I had this same problem. I got lucky and found your video after only 2.5 hours of troubleshooting (LOL). I just assumed it would work because it did before. Thank you!
Dude been suffering for 2 years. You are awesome!
You nailed it, thank you for making that easy. Any thoughts on getting the Easy settings Box to work easily? it opens but doesn't actually change my screen or section it off the way it is supposed to.
Thanks a lot for this unique tutorial! Couldnt find any info on it
OMG thank you thank you! I had given up and all it took was going to the PC setting!
You are the best. thank you so much ⭐️
Hey this saved me!!! Thank you so much! I thought my laptop wouldn’t work with my new monitor and i was so sad but this did it!!!
Thxs Olaf. My LG does not have a PC mode. Still working on it. Thank you again.
you just saved me so much time - thank you sir!!!!!
thank you this was helpful. exactly what I was looking for....
Thank you!! Super helpful and good video!
Holy crap. I was about to dismantle my monitor and start the return process with Amazon. You saved me so much hassle. Thank you so much!
I was about to return a USB-C to HDMI adapter when I found this video.
THANKS SO MUCH!!
Thank you - very helpful. I am having a different problem with this monitor. When I connect a device to it via HDMI, I can't get the sound out via headphones or the AUX output cable connected to speakers. I have to rely on connecting to the source device's (smartphone or laptop's) audio via Bluetooth or otherwise (as in the case of a laptop's own speakers - by directing the audio to it). Have you encountered this? What was your solution? The HDMI by default is sending in the audio. There must be a simpler way to get it out - with headphones or connected speakers - but so far, no joy
Thanks for the video. In my LG ultrawide 34 inch monitor, there is no PC/AV option, but when I changed the version to 1.4 from 2.0, the screen stretching issue got resolved.
Thanks Olaf, your video seem to be the only one out there for this. I have a newer model one and the settings are different. I have an Odessy G9 OLED and the settings seem to be different. I can't figure out how I can get it to these settings. Please help if might know how I could do the same on my new monitor. Thanks
It Worked after a looooooooooooot a other tries!! Thaks Bud!
👍
It worked the way you explained❤
Hello Olaf, hopefully you may be able to assist me.. I have installed 3x G5 32" monitors via various HDMI/Display Port cables, however each of them are showing a a 7-8mm gap on the left/top/bottom of the screen.. I have changed resolutions, cables, installed the latest drivers/firmware etc (Nvidia/Intel).. I am using a NVIDIA GeForce GTX(R) 1660 Ti 6GB GDDR6 video card.. Any ideas ?
Hi sir. I have a ALIENWARE 38 CURVED GAMING MONITOR - AW3821DW and I am not able to find these settings. Please help.
I can't thank you enough for this video!
Brother..... THANK YOU!!! Dang. I just did a PC refresh at work and when i got back to plug in my new laptop to my 59" curved Samsung I had the same issue. I just followed your setting switching from HDMI 2.0 to 1.4 and BOOM... Problem solved. Made the icons on my laptop bigger but i can manage that.... Thanks again!
Very helpful. Thank you.
This worked!!! Thanks a million.
Do I really need to connect a HDMI cable to the Odyssey G9 Neo to get to use that divided screen? I have a CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt dock connected to my MacBook. It has one display port outlet which I have connected to the Samsung. The CalD doesn't have HDMI out but for USB-A 3,2 Gen 2 ports on the rear and one on the front. Also has several USBC ports. Can I split my screen into three (3) without connecting to any of the screens inputs. I hear there is a software available to allow such splits. Please reply 👍🙏
Been struggling with this monster. Tha k you.
Hi Olaf, thanks so much for this video. I am over here dying of laughter. I bought the exact same monitor and spent six hours last night without anyone on CZcams having this simple answer. Thanks for saving me from a heart attack ;)
Glad to help Mike. ☺
BEST VIDEO EVER!!! I was seriously sitting there gonna cry cause I was like this is terrible I just spent so much money I was in every single setting trying to fix it and it was that simple mine was in hdmi compatibly!
Thank you I have had my curved monitor for 2 yrs and kept trying to get it to work scale properly with my windows 10, Now after finding your video I'm able to get my monitor to show the whole screen. Again Thank you for this video.
Those roses must be sent from your subscribers. Spent hours trying to fix this….
THANK YOU!!!!
Gaw - you saved me so much time. Quick question... you mentioned that you didn't have to adjust any of your Windows Display Setting; however - wouldn't it make sense to make sure the scaling is proper there too - x 1440?
Dam that worked changing the port to 1.4 i had been trying for about 5 hours haha. Thanks man
I just got this today. How do you use the same keyboard and mouse in PIP MODE, if you have a pc and a laptop hooked up to your monitor?
This is great. Thank you!
I am on the same screen as you. However, for me the issue was I am on a gaming laptop (GE66 Raider) and I wanted to run 5120 × 2880 but I couldn't find it in the list of the Windows Display Settings, HOWEVER when I switched the monitor's refresh rate to 60hz down from 120hz, I was able to choose this option in the settings.
thank you for this, helped me with my Xiaomi UltraWide
Broooo....OMG...so obvious never thought of it. Thanks much
I have a LG monitor for gaming/Xbox one and when I go to setting it does not show system what do I do?
Help, please. I have a samsung CHG90 and followed your directions step by step. Now, my screen shows small in the center of the monitor only. What can I do?
I've tried everything. That setting doesn't exist on my monitor. I got a benq widescreen monitor. I've gone through every setting but nothing works. So annoyed!
Great video brother! thanks
Thank you so much just bough one yesterday bro
It worked! How do you get the text to sharpen or focus? My text still looks slightly blurry around the edges. Trying to to get letters sharper.. thanks in advance for your help..

I have a Sceptre C50 49" monitor and there are no PC/AV settings or HDMI mode options. Any suggestions?
You are a legend! Ty so much!!
I followed your instructions but the HDMI Mode is dimed out red even though I'm connecting using a Mac HDMI port could it be Mac only has one mode for their HDMI settings.
Thank you! Could NOT figure out what was wrong!
Hey Olaf, I LOVE the video. Any idea how to access this on the Samsung Odyssey OLED 49" version? It is basically the same computer, but I don't know where or how to access that specific menu you were able to
Settings/imput port ver. Are you able to get 5440x1440 already? I cannot get higher then full HD with all my laptops as of yet while they should.
Good one. Very useful.
so i got an other problem with my g9... when i use pip and are done using it, i turn pip off the screen adjust aswell so i only see one screen on the monitor. but when i go to my pc settings it still shows up as 2 screens... i am in contact with samsung over this but they have not been anny help so far...
Olaf, I bought a 32 inch AIO hp and the same monitor won't even appear hdmi to hdmi and the display settings claims it doesn't see another screen do you happen to know if that is an hp issue?
This helped me so much thank youuuuu!!!!!
hi , I have done the same steps but the screen is still missed up, I am connecting my home theatre to the PC and then the home theatre to the screen all through HDMI cables , what could be the issue ?
You the Man! thjanks!
I have a green screen when I try to diagnose it in the menus? Any idea? Also pc won’t display but anything else will like Xbox no prob. Any clue?
I have the same monitor it looks like you have and I am having issues. May I ask if you have found a firmware update for this? My firmware is 1.2 and when i search I cannot find anything that works. Second I am trying to hookup a laptop to the minidp port and it says no signal. Any help is appreciated.

Man...You are a life saver!!!
I have the Odyssey G5 34inch ultra wide gaming monitor. I have my PC going through the direct port, should I just take the direct port out and use only HDMI? I have my Amazon stick in the HDMI. I'm going to try this when I get home this evening. Thanks 👍 Brother.
Thx very much I wonder too if I do want to game with surface pro 8 do you suggest other settings to have full screen and hdr capability...I tried downloading off Xbox app from store and it said this pc can't display the game which I know isn't correct.
I was having this issue with an LG SDQHD (2560 x 2880) monitor. This solved it. Thanks!
