  • “When I was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia at 16,” says Kya Lee, “I knew my life would never be the same.” With aplastic anemia, a person’s bone marrow stops making enough platelets and white and red blood cells. Kya received two bone marrow transplants and underwent intensive chemotherapy before each transplant so her body would be able to accept her donor’s cells. Kya has been closely monitored by the laboratory for almost ten years, and it’s been a key part of her journey-it is what kept her alive. Find out what she’s learned about the laboratory, and how she’s using that new knowledge to empower other patients and caregivers. Visit www.ascp.org/patients to learn more about specific lab tests related to Aplastic Anemia and to meet our other Champions.

I am 34 years old. I was diagnosed Aplastic Anaemia in 2020, when I was 30. As I am only child to my parents and due to non availability of donor, Dr planned for ATG. But count didn't improved even after that. Today, I can see that I will die soon in next coming years. Life is beautiful. Don't waste it. Very few gets this opportunity of rebirth. God chose you.❤ Love from India. God bless you. Stay healthy.
