PIR Sensors (Passive Infrared) are the standard sensors used for motion detection. They offer a wide field of view and are easy to configure, but offer only HIGH/LOW output and are not overly accurate.
    Functional Parts in the Project:
    Arduino Uno - store.arduino.cc/usa/arduino-...
    PIR Sensor (HC-SR501) - amzn.to/2Yv3Lnu
    560 Piece Jumper Wire Kit - amzn.to/2MsCLjL

You know the drill Eli, no bezel = no view.

    HiThere!!
Does this sensor work with sunlight?
Can it be adjusted to only detect the proximity of a hand, only when the hand reaches 3-5cms close to the sensor?
    Thanks a lot
    Alex

Can you adjust the distance sensitivy within the code or does it have to be done with a resistor on the sensor? THanks

IF you can reduce the sensitivity it would be on the sensor itself. As far as the Arduino is concerned its a simple on/ off switch...

I am 2 years late but, great video. One critque, no potentiometer? Had to go to another video for this.

I think my sensor is broke, it won't do anything and the code is correct as well as the wiring.

same issue but check this out guys at 1:55 he mentioned about setting the potentiometer to the minimum specifically the time delay. Seems like I had the time delay too long at 5mins, it solved my problem: czcams.com/video/v7Mi49Mv4Sw/video.html&ab_channel=EngineerWithin
