- The film presents the final competition of young males in the age of 18-24 months at the World German Shepherd Dog Show, which is traditionally held in September in Germany. The show took place at the Max-Marlock stadium in Nuremberg.

Current German Shepherd dogs have too short front legs. The front legs need to be lengthened by 3cm and the height needs to be upgraded to 68 cm for males.
Man those hind legs are super bent... smh
Honestly I am not able to understand how the breeders don't see that these dogs are completely disfunctional. For the good of the breed, this line should dissapear NOW. They have bautiful colors but their body structures are just awful.
The German Shepherd is a breed striving for perfection according to the breed standard. The German Shepherd is a trotter. It must have a strong back to transfer power from the hind legs to the body and front legs. A slightly curved comb is, according to all mechanical principles is the strongest. Only limbs with a long rump and wide thigh provide powerful propulsion. To receive the drive from the hind legs, the dog must have a suitably long and well-positioned arm at a 90-degree angle to the shoulder. The ideal dog is one that has the drive of its front legs matched to the drive of its hind legs. This is best seen when walking slowly and trotting. Anyone who does not understand this perceives this competition incorrectly. The lack of perfection of shepherd dogs from 30-40 years ago is evidenced by shepherd dogs from working lines, which, having imperfect conformation, cannot keep up with their peers from exhibition lines. They can't really trot, only gallop, and the German Shepherd is not a galloper like a greyhound.
@@Arkona_Park you just have to have eyes in your faces to see that the ones from the working line are 1000 times healthier, faster, more athletic and agile than the ones from the show line. Like I said, show line are just useless.
@@Arkona_Park I HAD A GERMAN SHEPHERD THAT WAS ANGULATED LIKE THE ONES IN THIS VIDEO AND HE COULD RUN LIKE A CHEETAH. HE WAS A STRONG HEALTHY DOG. MANY BELIEVE IF THE DOG IS NOT A STRAIGHT BACK HE IS NOT HEALTHY AND IN PAIN. NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.

@DANIELGARCIA-wd4jk, Because a German Shepherd is angulated does not mean they are disfuncional. Some breeders prefer the angulation, and supposedly, the dog works better.

What have you done to this dog. This is cruelty instilling all kinds of medical problems and suffering. The professional services are no longer taking the GSD and the vets are horrified. What would Max von Stephanitz have thought?

Honestly :) the sun was very strong that day. It was impossible to stand on the opposite stand any longer. The stand from which the competition is filmed was completely occupied. Besides, you can hear voices in the background. Many people watch the competition online at home. Such times.
