These AI ally mods are by far my favorite flavor of SC2 mods. I love having a competent ally in these missions, you do your own thing, do some harassments and contains then you look over and see your ally attack moving 20 battlecruisers or building a defense that could survive Nightmare All In.
Speaking of people looking out for you. Your trapped SCV has an active ability that you can use to jump them to a specific location. So you could have had that poor trapped SCV jump over the refinery to free himself. It looks like it's bound to "C" by default.
I was looking forward to the heart of the swarm with ally mod. Bring the full might of the swarm, primal zerg, and infested down on the dominion...But I'll take this too. It is such an amazing concept of running a covert operations group with allies running around.
I'm not 100% sure about this but from the looks of it the SCV jump jets don't just give them cliffwalking but also the active jump jet ability (like the one the Siege Tank gets) so you totally could've freed that SCV from Vespene Purgatory™
Phew, i'm glad you noticed the upgrades in time. I didn't know you didn't need to grab the thing in the bonus, good to know. This mod is as good as the LOTV one so i hope you enjoy, also i hope the modmaker does a version for the other 2 campaigns as well, i love this ally mods, mostly because as a casual player they are not as punishing/hard as the usual mods grant shows here
I love that there's ally bunkers in the cliffs! It really does feel like a tower defense mission now that you have enough defenses to kill them before getting to the base, rather than a "defend the slowly dying ally" mission
Yo, this is spicy. 4:00 VERY spicy. 15:29 Snow is exciting, at least it is to me because I live in a tropical country near the equator. Also, the freshy laid snow is the best when I lived in Japan.
Grant is playing "click first, read after". The engineering bay and armory upgrades had very small cost and timer, so you should not expect to have multiple good things for that cheap. Also, they have the negatives countered by the other upgrades. For example, one has a negative of -50 health and another with 100 shields as a positive.
Honestly feel like some of these mods really need to use the little tooltips that stops gameplay on the side of the screen. That or a slower start 'cause holy crap running around while trying to read is rough...
@@bonbondurjdr6553 It did have a different icon explaining you can only choose one. Grant even saw that and got confirmation. Grant also goes into a mod directly in brutal and doesn't take it slow at the start because youtube retention, sadly.

I like how mission 1 reminds me of so many blatantly stupid (yet still low key fun) tropes 1) encryption that you can break by force of will/IQ 2) “break neck” as an easy instant kill move 3) guards with zero situational awareness or peripheral vision

The Nova covert Ops campaign felt very natural to put an ally mod in since a good amount of missions have some ally and have achievements tied to those allies
Can't wait to see how allies play a part in the rest of the missions. They were really good in Wings of Liberty with allies, so I'm excited to see who we get as allies and how effective they are.
4:05 i'm really digging this high stress enviornment, i'd almost want to see all of her powers except cloak, just be on cooldown, and the only thing that uses mana is the suit's abilities, one of which is cloak, maybe she can have something else that also ticks down while using it. 5:51 wait maybe she's perma-cloaked the whole point was detectors yeah nevermind i'm being silly. 26:10 i'f love to see a heavily cliff-jumping type faction, and missions to really capitalize on that.
There definitely isn't enough Nova stuff, I believe you should give it a try. This campaign might've been short and the plot so-so, but the missions are realy well designed and it has a huge potential.
this video inspired me to check out the NCO coop maps in arcade, which ive never looked at before. you can put spider mines onto any unit, & which unit you put them onto changes them! if you give reapers spider mines for the second level with all the cliff jumping, they're viable bc it gives the spider mines bonus range AND cliff jumping! thats so cool!! (PS, the maps have an Archon mode so u can play it solo without any loss of features) PS the fight with ally mod is interesting, id like to see more of it & you should do coop campaign maps in solo archon mode some time, most of them add really interesting stuff

Wow at first I only think that Matt AI just expand missile turrets near zerg entrance by default. Never expect that he's ready for the muta rush at the end

Since this mod runs on redux it would be very appropriate if grant dux-ifies (with that special equipment that nova finds) Davis at the end. Also very funny.
I love stealing Matt's resources in the second mission. Anyway I just finished the original Nova Covert Ops a few days ago(I know late af, but I just didn't play sc2 for the longest time and assumed it's meh while also avoiding spoilers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), and finishing NCO and then reading the message at the end just really filled my heart with sadness, I wish we had gotten way more stuff like NCO, the writing of which I much prefer to LotV. Nova imo was REALLY good, both in gameplay and in the short scale story. Starcraft could fit so damn many in-between short novel-like spinnoffs. UED remnants, Zagara showing her zerg nature, leading the swarm and retaking territory or Niadra crashlanding somewhere dangerous and evolving her swarm, could even be near earth, but I wouldn't give her much chances there, Alexei Stukov at literally any point in time, everyone would like an Alarak or Ji'nara spinoff, or have Selendis do...just anything. I'll be giving this a shot after I'm done with WoL co-op with a friend and then WoL with a fake friend (the ai mod). And also after Nova on brutal. Dammit I just cant get enough Starcraft as of late. I hadn't originally planned for this comment to be so long, sorry.

However you can only choose one of the three upgrades, so the negatives cannot be countered as such
