Menma's TERA has shown that with proper care and attention, Online games can be enjoyable and devoid of any P2W crap. A Notable issue I forgot to mention is that all changes made to the server are voted upon... Which keeps the game enjoyable for everyone.

Menma's Tera is literally just Tera, but not completely fucked by the developers.

oh my God thank you for this information you see for the reason why I quit playing Tara was because almost all the costumes/clothing were locked behind a loot box/gambling and after one spends like $100 to get nothing sucks so after hearing this information brings hope back so ty

Yes, it would be nice to see a video on Tera CZ.
Tried getting it, but the Launcher kept crashing... Since I use a custom Gaming Build of Windows 10 I might have to fresh install the bulky full Windows 10 to run it... Until then it's on hold... I've played hundreds of games with no issues on this version so it really bums me out to see it fail to launch. Talked to the CZ devs about it but there's nothing they can do
My biggest problem with this so far is that I'm downloading for about 20 hours and am at 10% progress. I can't judge the gameserver yet but the fileserver has a terrible transfer rate. Sadly I uninstalled the original Tera and didn't test installing Menma over it to speed up the progress.
Anyway much love for showing this and take your sub man, I can't stand this 480p footage :P

It is shutting down they just had a cease and desist. They want to strike a deal with Krafton and to keep the game going, but I don't think it's going to work. " One does not simply ask Krafton for deals"

Thanks for watching! Glad I could help. No it's both PvP and PvE however unlike mainstream TERA they are not dropping PvP events, meaning it's fun for both parties for once.
The Card system isn't working, there was a discussion on enabling it but most PvE players Prefered not to have it. And Yes Fishing is around and booming.
Thankfully there's a number of really talented developers behind this private server. Patch 1.1 is coming soon bringing so many new stuff. Join and give it a try

The production quality of your videos, given the size of your channel, are phenomenal. I hope you branch out into other MMO private servers - perhaps making guides for those as well? With so many obscure private servers for other MMOs out now, I have no doubt that a channel dedicated to showcasing them, especially in your style, will see greater success!

@@misakianimated There are quite a few, but it would depend on where your own interests lie. Recently, the first Dragon's Dogma Online private server went public over in "The Rift" community on Discord. But there's Return of Reckoning (Warhammer Online private server), ArcheRage (ArcheAge private server), Eden (Final Fantasy 11 private server), City of Heroes: Victory (City of Heroes/Villains private server), Turtle WoW (Vanilla World of Warcraft private server + custom content), a personal favorite: NexusForever (Wild Star private server, largely unfinished), and an honorable mention: Ultima Online Forever (Ultima private server).
Oh that ArchAge server sounds interesting, so many choices. Thank you, I'll start visiting each one of these

Yes absolutely. There are others who just do that.
im returning player and im shocked this game actually shut down recently....i used to play alot back in day and as soon as i was in mood to come back it was too late. now im just trying to find private sever thats actually still playable. might give it a shot
You can't go wrong with Menma's TERA it is by far the most populated server with an extremely active team of fan developers

It's both PvP and PvE, basically imagine if TERA didn't actually abandon PvP, it's basically a joint server for both PvE lovers and PvP lovers

Oh gameplay wise nothing much has changed, it's a friendly place so ask for any help if you are stuck and you'll be guided

I've been trying to get the game but it's been ah... A very interesting process... I'll let you know more on it in the video I make on it, it's coming soon just waiting for them to reset their servers (to make everyone start back at lvl 1)

Is the server still active? If so, how many players ?
What is the player base of that server as of 2023 oct 13, for menma.
I have some questions if anyone can answer (good video btw):
1) How is it possible to someone can host the game if it shut down? Is it legal to do so for the host? Is the game still a property of the original developers / publishers?
2) Is there any risk that the original publisher requires the private servers to be shut down?
3) The host have the required files to run the game on their own? How is that possible in the first place?
4) Is it possible to simply play the game offline by downloading the same files that the host acquired? Are those files now private?
I'm just surprised by someone "got" the files and can simply run a server. It's good news though, but I'm simply surprised that it even works. How were those files even available? Via "leaks"? How does a company happen to just "leak" all the required files just enough so that they could be used later by the community? I feel like it might have been an internal act by some disgruntled employees or devs.
To be honest if I could simply run the game offline just to explore the maps I'd be happy enough with that. If it's possible to do that I would be content. But I'll give a try to Menma's TERA in the coming days; I miss TERA, originally played it when it became F2P in early 2013, all the way until mid 2016 or so. It always had my favorite dynamic combat system in any MMO (only close one to TERA for dynamic combat I tried was Black Desert, but Black Desert bored me to death within the first 2 days of trying, by comparison with TERA the first 30 minutes hooked me at the time).
On a side note, there's another private TERA server I've seen (checked on Google as I'm typing this), called TERA Starscape, maybe I'll check that one out too eventually.
Anyway ty for the video, good to see this game back alive on the PC platform.
starscape is pve centric -no open world pvp - and is based in the U.S.A. - as for the legality, it was answered in the video - unless they plan to do a "Tera 2" or something of that nature, they likely won't bother trying to get the servers taken down, mainly due to the cost and difficulty associated with it.
as for the how, well, you answered that yourself, "leaks" people managed to get copies of the needed files to run it themselves and decided to do exactly that - how such a thing came to be, well there are a couple ways it could happen - the most likely one is either a storage with the files that was outside their internal systems that they somehow forgot or lost and someone got access to, thus getting the files, or yeah, someone was grumpy with their boss and leaked it - at least those seem like the most likely to me - there are other methods, but I won't go there.

download the menmastera mmo game but i can't get into the game cos i cant remember my user name and password, i even did a new acount and it came up invade, i am not Restaling it again, it take 4 hours and i have to wait for the files, in the end, i give up on this mmo for me, tera is dead.
I want to play, but my anti-virus is flagging the site as a known unsafe. Makes me really skeptical of trying it .. which is sad because I'd love to play again
It's completely safe, I've had the same thing happen to me but on TERA CZ's page instead.
Make sure you are getting the name right and not ending up on a phishing site, give it a Google search, should direct you to the correct site

Sadly not available, unless someone reverse engineers that server Patch. Only the Beta 2013, Gunner Launch (2015) and Exodor Patches were leaked and are the ones circulating and used by private servers.

This is entirely to many step to "get started" Iv tried Menmas twice and just get lost in what's going on. It's unfortunate I was a veteran player for years. I miss tera.

So far Blade and Soul and Guild Wars 2 come close to having exciting dungeons.
But if you don't mind dropping them then Black Desert Online is also a good place to go (The grind there is legendary, beware)

dude krafton seriously shut down the private Tera servers after ruining the game for everyone and deleting our data that took us years to create? They should be destroyed for what they did to the original Tera players / fans.

No, No it is not, The current Patch was a hotfix for PvP players, that's why it seems that way. Wait until Patch 1.1 for massive PvE revamps and new content.
@@misakianimated to me it is. You start lvl 70 yet I like the lvl progress with other player.
A good sever to me should release content from time to time. Like first the very early dungeons n then the later ones.
You also get kinda end game gear on start
They will most likely remove the instant lvl 70 Scroll in the future, before TERA announced it's shut down it had a player-base of less than a hundred folks around. Would be a pain to force them to level up manually.
But after June 30 I suspect it will be gone and the server will feel normal. And yeah content changes are coming soon! Patch 1.1 will be super exciting
