You do realize this is because a salary can no longer support a family? You are forced to have 2 normal salaries to even have a chance at affording kids. Not a choice. It is being forced on us by investors, board members and bankers.
Ha, how is it I have managed for over 30 years single, raised three kids without assistance working school hours, paid for a home in a decent area, earned a degree on one, all on one income???? Because I cook at home without purchasing prepared foods. I might eat out once a month - never as good as homecooking. I do my own manicures and pedicures, my hair is its natural color, I drive a 10 year old car and learned to change the oil myself. I enjoy PBS instead of live concerts. I make good use of exercise instead of a gym. I live well, in moderation and have a lot of joy. I pay cash instead of credit cards. My cell phone is 6+ years old and paid about $50 for it. Some people take living really serious (acquiring things) others choose to live well. I see through the mind games. So can you.
