This is ironic because i felt for this "ad" randomly but im satisfied with it. On my TV nowdays there only cringe ads for aids (medications) and its disturbing like whatdaheeeel
It’s a video technique of finding stuff similar enough like texture, color, etc. it’s a basic technique, but this is absolutely the best example I’ve ever seen. It’s very masterfully executed like everything else in this video.
yellow was probably the coolest PSP color you couldve used for this. ive been watching this over and over again and i cant get over how its both a unique choice while also being visually pleasing
The person who edited this gets it. Before focusing high quality, they think and choose what is the most greatest choice for the basic coloring, so it's really important too.
The most amazing thing about this that I don't see many people bring up is that you've honed the perfect blend of many of the more complex aesthetics and stylizations of the 2000s while also using more modern minimalism in an appealing, inventive, creative way that doesn't appear sterile or oversimplified. It feels fresh out of the 2000s and yet could also pass for something from the modern day, it's awesome. The problem with modern minimalist aesthetics in ads and branding is that they use minimalism JUST to make things look "sleek" not realizing you can still very easily add a lot of extra flourishes and still appear very sleek and modern. I know we all love things like Frutiger Aero or Y2K, and for good reason, they're fantastic aesthetics, but they're also ones that are very obviously of their time, and to more modern audiences probably appear more gaudy or tacky than anything, and I think what you've done here is the perfect example of minimalism that can still appeal to modern audiences raised on it but still *does something.* And I haven't even gotten into your phenomenal sound design and mixing, which is just insanely crisp, weighty, and powerful with some truly excellent foley and usage of audio filters/effects, to the point that I could imagine this showing in movie theaters and not just on TV. Insane kudos to you, man, your work is incredibly admirable and I think you have an incredibly bright future ahead of you with the work I've seen.
Sorry, but I don't see anything 'modern' or 'minimalistic' about this. I mean sure, it definitely nails the aesthetic of the original commercials, but ff someone asked if I remembered seeing this on TV, I'd say "oh yeah, the PSP commercials, I think I remember this one" without batting an eye and move on.
I really like this comment mainly because of your point that modern design could look cool if there was more going on. I don’t blame people for thinking stuff like the Nintendo Switch menu is boring, but I don’t like it when they act like not having a bunch of fucking shading on a button is a crime against humanity or something.
This is awesome. Old school but new style. Really feels like a PSP ad, that's crazy impressive. And it's way better than the generic "I made an ad for X" you see on YT shorts.
the youtube shorts ads suck, they aren’t that original and have zero flow at all, they move in a stale way and most people do not know how to make things accelerate.
Brother the sound design the 2d graphics the smooth animation, the lighting and textures, and the editing. You're insane I don't even know how you got to where you are! Keep up the great work!
If this was a one guy work then i am truly flabbergasted !! The lighting, the camera movements, the physics simulations, smear effects, the smooth animations and how they are synced with the beat, compositing. Magnificent work my man !!
You know what the sad thing is? if even Sony did hire this guy, they will make a false advertisement of PS Portal, and fooling everyone thinking it's a separate portable console while the truth it's actually a remote play and REQUIRED a PS5. And good job with the ad style! It's simply stylish and epic B)
PS Portal REQUIRES A PS5?!? i own neither, but this is the first time i'm hearing this after seeing a few ads and reviews of it (just skimming them, not checking the details). $200 for a peripheral that only _streams_ to the device and requires wifi?? :(
This would have been one of those ads that stick with you through the years as you get older, the kind that really leave a lasting impression and make you occasionally recall "That one cool commercial I used to see on TV back in the day. Those were good times." Amazingly well done!
the sound design is perfect and I love how the hands feel a bit out of sink to the actual psp, it really puts the psp more in focus but I cant stop looking at the hands man!
Every indie animator be like: Big companies: boring ad with boring colors. Indie Animators: Cinematic ad with best smooth animation ever and, interesting colors. Also, you should apply for every big company
Really like this idea of making fan commercials or ad materials. Liked making my fan NS game box art for Deltarune LightHopes and DarkDreams. You deserve to make advertisements! I'm bored after thousands of CZcams ads that seem to only try to bore you out and not interest you in product.
Dude, You are super-crazy talented. Sony had such a vibe in the PS2/Early PS3 era, and you've managed to capture it perfectly. Not only that, but you managed to also fool me into thinking they were live action segments, and also applied such a cool style with the color scheme and effects! I'd love to see more media today capture this type of feeling!
My dude, the skill is amazing here. If I ever needed ad work done for a product and had a good budget you’d be the first on my list. This has that good touch, straight to the point, not like all the straight garbage we see on TV and streaming sites today. Keep at it, friend!!
Your brains have no processing capability of understanding and competition of how hard is to make a ad this good. If this guy isn't rich already with these works yet, I'll implode in indignation
Due to our warming climate and rising tensions of political disputes, CEOs are at a higher risk of spontaneous combustion when they do literally anything a little extra exciting.
You really made my day, the ad has those childhood vibes in it and i remember seeing games and toys ads in cartoon network golden era, the high quality and the nostalgic make it as a 5 star meal. Parfait

Instead of fighting adblockers CZcams can show ads that are actually good like this one.
Yeah I’d actually be interested if they were good and not disgusting, disturbing, boring, unrelated, etc.
