- We show you how to perform the remote window coding using an OBDeleven. This allows you to roll the windows up and down using the remote of the vehicle by holding the lock and unlock button. This is a must during extremely warm temps.
Update - Since making this video OBDeleven has created a next-gen version that works with iPhones! You can still buy the android version if you would like. LINKS BELOW

Paul, thanks again for another great video. I had tried to do this several times and there was just something i was doing wrong each time and it never worked for me. I was convinced that it just won't work on my car. However, after watching this video, i was able to get it done correctly and it works now. Thank you so much!
I did the manual version 5 months ago when I got my obdeleven
great video for future reference
I did this with my 07' A3 last month, it's come in handy so many times already!
Ty for the step by step... I'm going to try again in a couple hours hopefully I'll get it working this time (I tried earlier but had the engine running) .
You guys are awesome!! Thank you for the motivation!!!
I just did it yesterday on my friend's 17 golf r, It works too
You’re the man, dude! Thanks for this 👍
i just bought a obdeleven from u guys,i have a 2017 gti sport, app wont support it but it works in central electrics.just need to find those 4 things that needs to turn to active and 1 that need to turn to adjustable.
Very helpful. Thank you.
This worked great on my 17 R!
can do a video how do more remote on a mk5 or mk7 ? with OBDeleven??
Im new to obd11... Are any of these codes available for my 2012 tiguan? Videos? I've only used it for resets... thanks. Cool product 👍
Is there a way for the car to automatically close all windows when I lock the car with my key? (without having to hold the lock button).
Good video
Why does it say this app is not avaible for my mk7 gti se 2017?
Can I do my breaks with this tool on a 2013 vw cc? Retract the electronic parking brake?
Hey Paul,
2 quick questions:
1. Im not sure i understood correctly, they didnt create a version for the 2017 ? So if i have a 2017 Golf R i should wait until they update it?
2. I only own IOS phone/tablet, wich cheap android tablet could i buy to use after purchasing OBDeleven ?
Thanks
I'm missing Long Coding from my Central Electrics module. 2017 Mk7 GTI S
Would I be able to work around this “not supported” thing by just long coding it....?
Does this also work when holding the lock and unlock on the car handles? Or just with the key?
Hello. Can i use this when i swap my fuel filter to my Audi a4 b7 2.0TDI 2007. To run fuel pump airing the fuelsystem out😊
And even my baby 2014 VW Polo 1,2 tsi R-line has that as standard.. Not bad!
I have a bog standard mk7 golf and it has this feature through the settings in the dab radio (Both ways), However this is the eu version, is it not the same for the us?
Thanks
cant you do this stock? i have that feature standard on my mk6 gti
Will this work on a 2017 audi s3 in the USA
Carista showed 'not available in N. America' for the Mk7 Jetta for key fob opening of windows.
I did this to my 2015 Passat. Just need those side mirrors though :D
It’s interesting that in modern Volkswagens you have to code it to enable this feature. It has been a standard inclusion on every VW, Seat and Skoda that I have owned since 1996.
If I go the ODBeleven route I will have to get an android device as well (on iPhone)... is their a way to see what (apps) are available for a given car online?? Caz I am getting a 2018 gti in a couple of weeks. I would like to find out if VW change stuff again so that ODBeleven will take time to catch or not.....
i know this is a old video but will this work on a 2018 gti S model by the way i install app to se what was available for my car and only goes to 2017 gti thanks for shearing by the way i aim in the us.
In my 17 I have the option in the car menu from the factory. I can only close the windows from holding the touch button on the door handle. Not open either. The key doesn't work for either.
Do you need to code this? I have a normal golf 7 from 2015 and When o bougt my car used it Fame with oven and close Windows from Remote (im from denmark. Maybe something it came with??)
2017 gti vcds does not have the access control 2 option?
Just got my obdeleven and it said its not supported. I got the tight make a model and trim. So IDK what is problem.
can this work on an audi a6?i notice you dont do alot of stuff with audis
do you have the steps to do this in a 2015 Audi Q7
Can you put this feature on a 2019 Mk7.5 Gti?
On my old Volvo I didn't have to hold the fob button all the way.
Once the windows started moving, just let it go and they open/close all the way automatically.
Minor inconvenience, but VAG, I'm kinda slightly disappointed.
When I try to do this mod to my 2019 Golf R it says not supported. I have the car off and in accessory mode (meaning I pressed the ignition button but didn't turn on the car). Thoughts?
What about the power operated mirror function?
Do yk what channel it is? Mine is asking for a number it doesn’t list all the options to choose from. Thanks
wait. my 2017 has "conv. opening" and it's fresh off the lot. is it just the 15's and 16's that don't?
Where are you from? This feature is disabled in the North American Market
does this work on a 2016 golf SE?
Worked on my ‘17 GTI sport!
I installed the app to see what apps they have for my 2016 jetta s 1.4tsi and the garage only goes to 2015?! Will this not work on my vehicle?
Will it work on a skoda rapid 2014 diesel?
Does this work for the 2018 vw Passat
Good video,
I noticed that after some time it stops working. When it stops working, my sun roof doesn't work properly as well.
It might be something specific to your sunroof. You probably have to reset your sunroof parameters
My OBDeleven says that is not supported. The headhunt shows that it is but it does not work with I try it with my remote...thoughts?
Can this be done in a mk5 GLI?
What percent tint you have?
When are we gonna see the MK5 Project build?
Does this still work with the 2015? It's July 2021.
does using OBDeleven void warranty in any way?
Have you found out the code for 2017 models?
Will this work on a 2020 gli autobahn?
it does work on my 2014 passat
Will this work on a 19 Jetta?
I tried to code my 2013 Passat 3.6 and the app said that the widows needed to be calibrated. Where or how do I calibrate them?
Can you turn off start/stop system?
Is this possible WITHOUT a factory head unit?
Just used ODB11 to activate this feature but nothing. Any ideas ?
Is the mk7 gti a good first car...because I really like them and in about a year I'm looking for a first car
Mawrk _ absolutely and it's a great platform to work with
No brand new car is a good first car
What did u get?
Does this work on vw cars
I have a Ross-tech would this be something else I should look into?
yes same process for Vagcom
iOS support for ODBeleven?
I put my car on “all windows” under convenience opening. Only the sunroof opens and closes with the remote. What can I do?
Does it works for all versions of mk7? I mean, it's not just for the gti? Regards!
Pretty much any Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche or any other European name plate Under the Volkswagen auto group such as Skoda and Leon
If you use credits for an app and then you disable the functionality, do you have to use credits again to enable it?
Yes
Hey Paul, I currently have over 100 credits on the obdeleven app but I don't have the dongle. If I were to buy the dongle from you guys would I be able to use these credits that I have with the dongle?
Yes, I did this and had around 200 credits. I was shopping for a new car 6 months in advance and watched a lot of those videos for free credits
Is it possible to overpass the « north American restriction » ?
Just tried to do the apps for my 17 and it says not supported in United States.
I have a 17 Sport and it says "not supported" in the app. I also can't long code it either.
G my 17' SE says the same thing, "not supported"....?
Yeah, not sure what's going on. My 17 won't either
Are the apps 1 time purchase with credits or you have to pay every time you use one of the apps?
Think of an app as a function that you're paying to use. You don't own it you just pay for the app to perform the function for you. If you go back to stock and want to use the app again you're going to have to pay again. Each vehicle you use the app on you will have to pay for separately. I use my obdeleven on friends cars :-)
It's funny, in europe it's standard 😉
Don't they cost significantly more in Europe as well? Although it is strange that VW disabled it for US
VW ALWAYS removes or shuts off features like this when they ship cars to North America. This is quite common, which is why I'm seldom impressed by their cars. My MKVII GTI does NOT have those features.
@@largol33t1 I bought the obdeleven from shopdap last Christmas and got hundreds of free credits. My Mk7.5 GTI definitely does do this now :-) along with 4 flash "convenience signal" instead of the stock 3 flashes and I can use the remote to lock the car so I can walk away after I start it (mostly only use this on super cold days that I don't want to drive the car until the oil warms up a little).
Noticed the side mirror fold in worked in the first video but not at the end.
if you lock and unlock multiple times the mirrors will not continue to open and close everytime
Got it. Thank you
Is there anyplace that there's a list of apps OBDeleven offers or do you offer any? I could code this stuff myself, but it takes way to long, reading German is not my strong suit and I sometimes get fat fingers.
John Maffa download the app go to garage and add your vehicle then apps
best way to find out
Does the device need to stay plugged in at all times after finish coding?
No
this didn’t work for both ways on 2016 GTI... anyone know why?
Btw... can someone tell me .... did he tell us how to lift the sidemirror?😅
I followed the instructions word for word it still doesn’t work for me . 2016 Gti se. even calibrated all the windows
@ShopDAP, why don't you switch your apps language to English? 😁
i wish you didn't have to hold the button down the entire time.... it'd be good if you could just triple tap, or double tap and hold for a second and then windows go down.
I love it cuz you can just crack your windows if it's hot out
That is standard feature with key fob!
My 2003 A4 is some do, and some time don’t
Here in Brazil even a cheap "econobox" like a Ford Ka has that feature. And as far as I can remember all VWs sold here have that feature.
Not sure why this function needs to be enabled? It's a standard feature on any Mk7 model. Maybe VW disabled it for NA cars?
Are vw golfs popular in the US?
No, it's not that you rarely see them and there are even quite a few around in Michigan where I'm at where the climate is very cold in winter with lots of lake effect snow but they are a very rare sight some days. Americans don't like small cars and in The Last 5 Years cuvs have completely flipped the sedan Market on its head. Hatchbacks and wagons have not been "popular" in America for a couple decades. I drive a GTI for its balance of everything from practicality to fun but a lot of people think I'm kind of crazy for driving a "tiny" car until they get in it and realize how freaking big it is inside. I'm 6'1" btw.
@@NoZenith
I love American cars , always wanted one with hydraulics on it hahaha.
They do sell American cars over here but there classed as classic cars well the older ones anyway .
Over the VW golf is the go to car , or ford focus ST for when you pass your driving test .
Don't u call golfs rabbits over there ?
@@CM-1723 back in the day they did for the first model. I think Mk 2 or Mk 3 they took it back to the Golf name and Mk5 it was the Rabbit again for 4 years.
For the 2019 Mk7.5 1/2 (new transmission mostly, we finally got the 7-speed DSG over here) they had a special edition they called the Rabbit Edition GTI. Otherwise the rabbit name has been gone since 2009.
@@NoZenith
I've always wanted the 1964 chev impala 😍 . How much do they sell for over there ?
What engine do you have the R32 ?
@@CM-1723 oh no, R32 was pre Mk6 right? Always remember we're half a mark behind you so We are still on the Mk7.5.
So the base golf currently gets a 1.4 TSI, up until 2019 it got the 1.8 TSI. The more powerful engine option in North America is the 2l TSI EA888 in the GTI. It's tuned differently across models but they also put this in the Tiguan and a few other vehicles. It's the same engine in the Golf R here. I have no need to tune it but I have friends who have made monsters with a couple bolt ons and a tune. It's a really efficient and versatile engine. We also don't get the GTD over here
Can this be done for a VW CC?
Yes there Is i did it to a cc 10 credits same procedure in the app section
Hmm, I tried on a friend's CC and the option/app was not there for it. I will try the coding next time.
The one I did was a 2012 goo.gl/photos/NXgzb2Srg3pM3SDKA
Mines a north American model, and for some reason this is not supported
Mk6?
States "Not supported" for the 2017 MK7's. Guess I'll wait until it does. Hopefully the OBDEleven guys are reading this....!?!?
Is it supported now?

Following this worked on my 2017 MK7 Sport.
sites.google.com/a/naturalnetworks.ca/vw-golf-mk7-vcds-how-to/comfort/window-open-close
Mod Mark, just started playing with my 2017 MK7 and there isn't a "access control 2".
go to "ZV Komfort"
I had to do the same thing and it works.
They changed the module for the 2017 model year
What about the mirrors?
Take a look here czcams.com/video/MXUulUy_eSM/video.html
I should have been more specific, I thought you would show the coding to make them retract too, since they did at the beginning of the video but then didn't at the end.
Standart in EU
If it wasn’t there wouldn’t be a way to do it in the USA cars, can only do this with options that are already part of the cars computer. Simply turning it on and off is all you need obdeleven/vcds tool for
If the software can do it why would you ever want to do it manually?
Does it work on a seat ibiza 6k2 cupra from 2000?
It's standard in any vw. So you don't need do coding.
Does this void the warranty?
patrick agcaoili seriously? If you have to ask you shouldn’t be touching your car.
