If you are familiar with the game Tunnels and Trolls, that game awards 100xp per level that you survived. So your 300xp is reasonable and this used before.
The number of members of the party is reduced for modern game systems because it became a fad to make the party become superheroes. You can, and should, have as many as needed to the endeavor. Between 7 to 14 or more characters is not too much depending on the mission. Do not be scared of multiple characters.
This is something I have definitely learned over the course of the months playing after this video. Learning Chainmail mass combat helped a ton with that too!
Great play throughs. What are you using to randomize and outline open area hexs outside of the dungeons (ie towns amd wilderness after exiting dungeons) like what is seen in episode 2?
Heya, I can't remember exactly, but I would just use Sandbox Generator or the generators in the rulebook! White Box: FMAG, Delving Deeper and other OD&D retroclones have generators for the wilderness hexes.
+1 for GNOLL for the soundtrack. Them and Kobold are my go-tos for FMAG and 4AD :)
