HAILSTORM RAVAGES EAST LONDON, South Africa

On 22 April,2024 a severe hailstorm struck parts of East London, in the province of the Easter Cape (South Africa), causing significant damage to properties and the electrical infrastructure in the area. The hailstorm, accompanied by strong winds, lasted for approximately 20 minutes and resulted in widespread destruction.
The hailstones, ranging approximately 40mm in size, caused extensive damage to residential and commercial buildings. Roofs, windows, and vehicles bore the brunt of the storm, with many structures suffering from shattered windows, dented roofs, and damaged exteriors.
