- The salt's gone to my head. If you're wondering, I was in 5th grade when I attended these things. I express it very much that I hated the place but really, it wasn't too bad.. except for the treatment time after time.
Also schools in session but I'll still be editing when I have time. Starting one at the moment.

I was in an after school once, they had a senile old lady there. She would often make us pretend we were in a ball and have us treat her as the 'queen of England' we were 5 at the time so we got tired of this easily, but whenever we said we were tired she would twist our ears or push us. When we said we would tell our parents she would pull out this weird looking stick and say she would kill us if we did. She got fired after an incident where a 5 year old girl had an asthma attack and the old lady just kept kicking her telling her to keep dancing. It was traumatizing, the girl was rolling around the floor begging for help and the 'queen' kept yelling at her to dance. Luckily the girl survived. My innocence however, didn't

It actually is...I work at a childcare site and have seen people get written up for making a child stand in direct sunlight for more than 5 minutes. Making children exercise as punishment is actual abuse...

I've always assumed that it might be cruel + unusual punishment, because they do it ALL THE TIME at my Y after school program as a punishment, but I have never questioned it.

doing that is a form of corporal punishment which in most states is illegal. i say most because in some it is still technically legal so you should check the laws in your state before hand.

Like really, there were about 2 good people there. The rest would run around making a mess and screaming. And the teachers would do nothing. I remember laughing when the teacher made us give goals for the year and reasons we can achieve them, and all the kids were preaching about how ‘we can be better’ and stuff. Also, one day the teacher snapped and took it out on me, the kid who did NOTHING WRONG. It was ridiculous.

My old school doesn't have walls. It just has these weird boards. I think they didn't have enough money for walls because they spent it all on pointless flatscreen tvs in hallways and "classrooms". Without the boards its equivalent to a one room school house.

I was in Pre-k and what I had to do for about 1 hour to 1 and a half hours, maybe even two was sleep on those mats that you use for push-ups in the school gym time, and you could make the argument that I could go do something else, But there was literally nothing else to do but sleep, and if you asked any of the people who worked there, "can I not go to sleep on a horrible "bed" and do something I would actually like?" And they have the nerve to look an energetic 4 year old who didn't take naps since they were 2 straight up, "no, now go back to sleep." And inside I'm just pissed off but on the outside im just like "ok... fine." And repeat that for an hour or 2

The afterschool at my school cost money.
It was like for the kids who didn’t love them enough to pick them up on time but were lucky enough to get the afterschool at the school.
Me on the other hand, my parents didn’t love me at all. They didn’t pick me upon time and then just left us at school with nobody watching us.

I went to Summer Daycare when I was a little child, and it’s surprisingly dramatic and has a lot of bad teachers. I got yelled at for falling down while roller skating. 😂
unrelated but in preschool we had tricycles. And one day I fell down on the road where kids with tricycles rode them, and one kid ran me over ;_;
I also got yelled at for using a tricycle in a different school bc other kids wanted a turn while there were like fifty tricycles in the corner-

once in my “after school” I was like 5 and I was to nervous to ask to pee so, I took a piss on the carpet I was way to embarrassed to get up so I just sat there in the molding pee waiting for my dad to pick me up

My after school (they had it in the summer too) was literal torture. During homework time, me and all the other kids would be shoved in a windowless room for an hour, then we would spend another hour forced to do laps around the building. During snack time, we weren't even allowed to talk. One of my friends even got in trouble for HELPING me with my homework. And during field trips, the "teachers" were too lazy to look after the little kids, so the older kids were forced to babysit them. I'm definitely not going back there again.
EDIT: I was always put with the special kids because they thought I had a disablility. Good times.

My after school was goated, we didn’t really get forced to do work, and we got to go outside and have fun. There was an option to go to the after school place during the summer and kids who went usually went on a field trip which was goated. I got lucky asf.

When I was in 7th grade, I went to a college prep, so they were really strict. I got so fed up with all the homework they were giving me and eventually I stopped doing it. Then when I tried to go home one day, the teacher stopped me and told me to go back to class. School usually ended at 4:30, but now I'd be going home at 5:30. They put me in "extra tutoring". I didn't wanna do that either, so I would sneak outside at the end of the day with my hood on so the teachers wouldn't know it was me.

I had to go to a place called AYP it had a homework and study room and you go there BY CHOICE and had ping pong table. The homework room legit had the softest chairs ever and a fish tank. They had many different rooms which you had to move your clip when you move rooms. This was back in Italy and I wish we hadn't moved because the place we moved to is horrible the house is amazing but the school is garbage. I actually liked going to school in Italy.
Sorry I’m late but, I go to an after school and it’s AWESOME my after school let’s us do fun activities every week and the staff were nice asf. We went to the park, made different foods, did small games, and once we went to the beach. I’m not joking, neither am I showing off I just wanted to share my experience with people who were curious. I was part of an after school club for homework but it cost around $200 per child. I actually really liked it because we got we played fun games, ate amazing snacks, the adults were awesome, and we got help for homework (duh)

For me, my asp which is a "daycare" which we will be in after school. It is much worse than what tabbes explained. They torure you both phisically and mentally and the punishments are way too over the top. It was like a dictatorship. We didnt get no rest from doin work and if we stopped we get smacked like a ragdoll. Even if we told our parents they likely wont do anything coz its an asian country and asian parents here dont give 2 shits.

When I was younger and went to afterschool, whenever I had a loose tooth, my teacher would take me into the bathroom and make the tooth come out. With the usual "string on a doorknob" trick or just using their hands to pull it out.
I pulled one of my teeth out one time. It kinda hurted like hell, but it was worth it after.
My after school camp is exactly opposite but it costs money we have awesome snacks we have a choice to do homework we can go outside they have a gym to play in and it's just a overall good place

I never knew about them either until now, I spent my entire *School Career* either in HS or CS, I only spent a total of around four months roughly in PS for my *8th Grade Year* before switching back to CS again (HS=Home School, CS=Cyber School, PS=Public School).

Okay back story, I have many problems that make it hard for me to learn anything, even math my best subject, anyway I'd go to this after-school program called R.A.C.D (reading for autistic child development) original to help autistic child just understand what they were reading turned into a second school day, and I hated it for two reasons, one, since I'm the only one in my family with autism, I was the only one allowed to go, even though it's cheaper than a baby sitter. two they never helped us, the teachers would bully us! one time they made me run an obstinate coarse without any sort of assistance, not even glasses (getting struck by lightning IN your eye kinda fucks up your eyesight) and then they made me (along with anyone who rode the bus home) walk home in the dark, I got home two hours past my bedtime and four hours late (6 was when we were supposed to get back, it was 10 at night) after my parents saw my bruises and I told them why I came home late the police were called, all of the teachers responsible were arrested and I think a few kids weren't found, after that me and my siblings were told that if we could prove we could watch ourselves, they'd give us a spare key to the house and we could just ride the bus home and wait till they got home, everything they came home to see all 5 of us sitting in the living room, homework done and chores finished we got out to eat, it was pretty cool.

At my after school there were toys and you could go outside until 7pm and we got pizza
I went for a whole WEEK. And after THAT experience i begged my mom, oh i mean BEGGED my mom to let me go to my grandparents house instead. And it worked. Thank The LORD. But my God i'm sure i lost at least 101 braincells and 5 years of life span that Week......--
I went to a daycare and I thought I was just a sensitive dramatic kid at the time by the owners were complete dicks to me which was confirmed by my older sister. The kids picked on me and they said “he can deal with it” or “let him fight his own battles”. Bitch I tried but I was a small kid. And then I discovered dense objects. And places they really hurt

This is so true. I went to the boys and girls club when I was little and I hated it. Some times they would keep us outside for hours in 90 degree weather. It sucked.
I had to go to my school's after school program and it was torture. If just one kid was too loud no one could talk anymore and I was also super lonely because none of my friends went. The other kids in my grade there sucked and were just genuinely annoying as well.
I almost never had after school, and when I did it was just drawing and drinking grape juice.

I once dived into a bush of poison ivy cuz my friends told me to get something for them for a dare (i didn't know about poison ivy back then) and I would've pushed them into it if their parents didn't come over
My afterschool in my elementary school was
If we where in the Lunchroom, we’d just eating snacks, playing with toys, finishing up homework, watching Tv, playing games, reading books, and just hung out
And
If we where in the Computer Lab, we ate snacks on those 3-4 Lunchtables (for just excess people from in the lunchroom, if I remember correctly) just did Educational stuff and sometimes played games.
Bruh I had to go to an after school program kinda thing, I stayed at school and I would always be last to be picked up cause my mom would finally come AT 6PM WHEN SCHOOL ENDED AT 3:15!
And they also had changed my favorite day of snack also, they would have a cereal for the snack some days and at first it was Frosted Flakes for a few years when I was there, then they were like “nah this is too unhealthy, so we gonna change it to Cheerios” KIDS LIVE ON THE UNHEALTHY COME ON, not that I don’t like Cheerios, I just like my Frosted Flakes.

at my afterschool thing (it was at school) well you know those things that hold open doors? well i looked at that while i was riding a scooter and the 4 year old me thought if i rode over it i would fly thought the air and be the coolest kid EVER😎, so i went over it and fell flat on my face on a hard floor🤕 so then one of the people in charge came over to see me and took me 2 the bathroom to clean my BLOODY face up, she told me DONT LOOK IN DA MIRROR!! but i did and on the left side of my face it was COVERD in blood😲, it hurt soooo bad, but thats all i can remember about my afterschool thingy. 😐

over the summer in this one daycare program, they made us do community service around town in order to earn the event of the day later. We pulled weeds for this one lady, mulched the park with shovels and wheelbarrows, and played with the elderly at the old folks home. It was a very hot summer, and they wouldn't give us water. And if we didn't work because we were in pain or too dehydrated or whatever, they would yell at us and we wouldn't get to go see the movie or play at the park or whatever. And we were like, only elementary schoolers. I'm not even kidding. Sometimes they would make us walk across the whole town in order to get to the swimming pool when too many kids showed up for one bus trip. One day, these management people came by to give us a survey on how much we liked the daycare, and I wrote down that I hated the place, and I told them what they put us through. The "Teachers" saw my survey and forced me to write a positive review or else I'd be punished. The room they kept us in was the windowless basement of the facility, and the whole place stunk like mold.

One year I had summer school, and one day I saw a video on CZcams where you put starbursts in a empty, cleaned out glue stick. Let me just say me and my friend were the jokesters in the class. I did it in a chapstick container though and one day she actually took it from me. But gave it back to me after that day of summer school ended.
