    Man, Diego and Anton's relationship is so complex. Anton both despises Diego and wants to shape him into his role. Diego both fears his father but also somewhat desires his acknowledgment. And though they are polar opposites in the end they do love each other.

      lol He probably had a different definition for-- and way of expressing, love. Far different than how we would.
      Maybe due to his years of abuse by his captors(some former guerillas) that he personally experienced and witnessed; The broken state of his father, and cold calculating survival tactics taught by his mother.
      A combination of many things, made him into the 'Anton Castillo' we knew and saw. I do believe he loved his son, but his way of expressing love was often broken, traumatic, and lacking many crucial elements of empathy. He had his reasons, I suppose..
      Not saying I agree with his rendition of love, just that I somewhat understand its genesis. It just is what it is.

He did not want his son to follow the same path he faced now and decided to end the pain that Diego would face in the future, so he ended it in the most humane way of death to end ones suffering. He did what was right at the last moment.

      previous games allowed you to see your character in a mirror through a cutscene, which accomplishes what you want without breaking POV immersion. The point is to completely dive into the shoes of this digital person in your computer and live in this world as close as possible. That is the goal of cinematic art.

      @DuSeun Před 2 lety +15

      @@-slice-6103 This is why Far cry 3 was the best in my opinion. The protagonist really had his own character but as a player you always stayed in his POV. This fully immersed you into the character. You couldn't see him in cutscenes because you were seeing those cutscenes through his eyes, but you did know what he looked like through photos and you could customize his arm tattoos by ulocking skills. 1:51:43 Castillo really knew how to answer the question about slavery. While Western media may condemn him for using slavery, he was quick to point out how America technically profited from the same industry in the sale and manufacturing of cotton and how systematic racism and the prison industrial complex still perpetuates that same legacy in the US. Not to mention other nations using child or slave labor in the manufacturing of clothes and cellphones. It’s cause they’re actually “lawful” kinds of evil in a dictatorship. Past Far Cry villains were always chaotic evil. I think this game did a way better job structuring a dictatorship than Far Cry 4 did, which vaguely alluded to Pagan Min running a dictatorship.

      Whilst Marquessa was Diego’s mother, a lot of her arc was psychological torture and brainwashing. She had an academy dedicated to tormenting rebels, LGBT e.t.c… She was quite vicious actually.

    What I would have liked about this game is some manner of choice that allows for replayability. I mean, besides playing the male or female charachter of Dany rojas, there is nothing THAT important that you could decide for the story to end differently.
    You could either leave Yara, and basically don't play, and you can kill an American that doesn't affect anything about the game.
    I would have gladly loved a decision for each faction that leads to the final confrontation. Like deciding the fate of Alejandro Montero, or choosing sides with either La Moral or The Legends (I prefer the Legends, La Moral is just a bunch of idiot kids that don't listen to anyone), or even worst: Choosing between Clara and Diego!

    • @humanperson7646
      @humanperson7646 Před 4 měsíci

      Yes Clara and Diego would be a great choice because Clara could want him dead to clear the slate while Dani would say that he’s just a kid and then you have to decide whether to allow her to kill him or step in and stop her and in so doing accidentally kill her and for La Moral and the legends the choice could be who to want to represent their region and in turn who would lead their part of the battle for the capital where if you chose the kids you have more fighters and have people hack buildings to help you get the drop on enemies but if you chose the Legends you would have a different access roots through sewers and have fighters that would look older but in their stats have more health and better weapons as their veterans from the original revolution and have experience one thing I wished was that for the America I let him live but you could have it to where if you let him live the fighters in the final battle could have armor and if you killed him you would get more fighters and such and for Montero if you let him come back he could give Dani and the gang drugs that could boost your health and make invulnerable like the drugs from far cry 3 and another one at least on my mind is they could’ve made the drug dealer guy for the band section into a choice on whether to work for him or not as you either help him but cause a drug epidemic and in turn weakens your fighters as some are on drugs but provide funds and such from his drug trade to get better gear but if you don’t work with him you now also have to fight against the drug dealers in the capital
