For me, I think HE knocked it out of the park with this album. I got it a few days ago and haven't stopped listening to it. There's even a few tracks that are tuned down to G# and it really brings back Erik's composition from Morbid Angel days, which I love. Lots of variance, variety, catchy riffs, memorable solos, audible pretty much across all instruments, and just plain top notch stuff. Buy it!!!

This is bad ass....but Rutan isn’t just a bad ass musician, but has produced some of the best death metal albums of all time. He and Peter Tägtgren can’t be imitated.
I met him at a show and told him how much I liked his production and I could tell he doesn’t get that compliment much. He’s worked on so many of my favorite albums, and he deserves all the praise in the world.

This is genius how simple yet how complex it is at the same time. It has a simple formula, playing fast riff to melodic riff back to fast riff, however it just keeps expanding. It’s amazing. I always get into a grove of listening to this song too much but when I stop listening to it for a while, it’s beautiful the brutality of it

Rutan is Death Metal at its finest. He could be needed everywhere. But I think there's so much goin on in the DM scene today, that he could just work on his own stuff, and produce stuff here and there, we'd still be blessed with great music.
Erik is now a permanent member of Cannabil Corpse. Probably not going back to another band besides Hate Eternal for a while, if I had my guess.

I'm a huge fan of the overall production of this album but as a bass player, myself, definitely have to give serious credit to how perfectly the bass sits in this mix. Very audible, intelligible and wicked sounding but not obstructing the guitars in any way.
