Idea for the piddle pad! A bid odd... but you could ease her into using it by taking it (or just the fake grass bit) outside with you and try to get her to use it on a walk/in a place where she normally pees a few times. Then try again on the balcony. 🤷‍♀️

Regarding your Peperomia; you can cut the leaf in half, stick it in soil cut-side down, and get a new plant will grow from it! It's wild! (Cover it with some plastic to get like a greenhouse effect and it'll grow a little faster. Also, be patient, it can take a few months.)

I feel as though the plant will eventually die of a slow death and that's cruel. I never got one before because I felt they were way too expensive or the ones that were affordable got crap variegation.I found a beautifully variegated one for quite a reasonable price, figured for that price I could get a nice Anthurium Vittarifolium as well and, why not, a cheap small Hoya Carnosa Crimson Queen 😊 I also have 2 dogs, both Dalmatians, their playfulness and their long tails have caused many plant mishaps. nowadays i always check my plants, since it's much easier to cut the plastic nursery pot while the roots are still young, the older they get, the more condensed the roots are between the plastic slots, the harder it is to free the roots without damaging the plant
I do advice to check the rest of your plants, just to make sure

As for plant isolating, invest in a digital microscope (you can get relatively cheap ones that connect to your phone) that will allow you to spot spider mites. It's not a guarantee that you'll always spot them of course, but it's much better than just guessing/hoping that the new plant doesn't have them.

Claire, I'm so glad you found the reason for the Scindapsus being poorly. it was fun to listen to your thoughts whilst you looked after your plants, I browsed on a separate window "growtropicals" website... I might be shopping there at some point. I do not have a wish list, but I wish I could own the shard, then I could buy every single plant I see in shops...
Predatory mites: id love to hear your experiences using them. how do they affect us? How long do they live? Where do you buy them? How do you deal with them? How long do they last unused.
Pilea pepermiodes: you can cut the whole petiole off and just place the leaf on sphagnum moss... and it will grow. I find that leaf propagations with a long petiole are more difficult to pot on, so I always cut the petiole short to water propagate. I think you could've cut all foliage of the stem of the broken pilea, and it would grow roots making a possible stronger plant, however I never tried it. lol I don't feel drawn towards pilea peperomiodes.
Propagating your Monstera via air layering is a great idea, if you can get clear orchid plastic pots, use them as it will allow you to see the progress of the roots. or just a plastic bag. I'd put it so that the aerial root can grow into it rather than having the whole stem in the soil.

The only time I have an issue with my dog in the plants is when I am watering them occasionally he go to take a bite
I do keep most of them raised I have one I keep blocked in my room where he is while I’m at work
And whenever he was really sick to his stomach one time he tried to eat the plants to make himself throw up and I have to move a bunch that were still raised but in place he could still reach it was a pain lol

Someone gave me two peperomia obtusfolia, they aren't really my thing and when I got them they were very leggy. I stuck them on my kitchen window (south facing) and they are growing like crazy, much fuller and giving loooads of variegation. So light, light, light seems to be the key to fast growth with them. I still don't LOVE it but I am thinking I might take top cuttings as it's filled in a lot and looks a lot nicer.

Re your piddle pad, if you can, collect some of her piddle and put it on the piddle pad and it might fool her into believing that she did it, and start using it.

I am commenting as I am watching (I am at 1/3l).. I have that 2nd plant for 6 months now and there is no new growth, but its not dying either :/ and plants which I have from Morisson always have that little basket around roots, that's why I repot literally straight after buying or I wait max 2 weeks.
But that last plant I needed to chop (scindpasus) and I don't know what's the problem, because leaves are half black but there is no root rot. I gave it great drink, waited 2 weeks.. nothing, so I chopped it and propagated. Its my 1st time doing that so fingers crossed it will grow :)
Btw I use wire cutters to cut that little pots.
Oh I wish I feel excited when new plants are coming but I am not, I am more scared they gonna die 😅 I ordered frow grow tropicals two philodendrons (just 6cm in size) and I didn't water it as it felt quite moist but now one of it lost a leaf :/ it was mushy and again.. there is no root rot because I already repotteed it. Ahh I hope they gonna survive.

Lily A........Do you have any idea why they are doing this method? If left on for too too long wouldn't it just choke out the roots and just die? Just curious. I haven't bought plants at these stores in a while maybe 3 years. This must be a new thing but why??

I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your plants and knowledge with us. 🙂 I have a question about watering newly potted propagations. When I pot up rooted propagations, I've been told to 'water thoroughly ' until the water runs out the bottom of the pot. When I do this, I feel that the soil is still sopping wet and it takes a long time to dry out. I'm worried about root rot. Am I soaking them too much or is this normal? I appreciate your advice. Nursery pots, or as I call them, root cages, are sadly quite common. I've had a few plants with them so now I check every plant. Peperomias do have small roots. I think there's terrarium peps and succulent peps, that one looks like a succulent pep. Nick Pilegi (?) on CZcams is a pep collector 👍
