    7:52 de eğer sol elinizle rakip arasındaki atari yi kullanmadan sağ elinizi bu kadar içeri bu kadar sokarsanız rakip boştaki sol eli ile sizin sağ dirseğinize rahatlıkla karşı teknik uygulayabilir.

    A naive question: does this class intend to have a real world application or it stays on the training level? I expect punches thrown in the real world, not an attack from above with the hand opened.

      ycomomellamo ...a very naive answer.
      The more you train, the better you’ll become in any martial art.
      In Aikido, focus is (in most cases)on getting away from the attacking “line” of the opponent while at the same time using the momentum and the knowledge (techniques that he/she learned over the years and mix’em up) in aikidoka’s advantage. In most cases throwing the opponent out of balance and throwing a “sucker punch” back...
      Footwork and breathing is very crucial in aikido....as it is in any martial art.

      @jonathanmosher72 Před 3 lety +1

      I don't see much of a real world application with this. These are the people who are like "no, try to hit me like this" Great for fighting drunk amputees.

    • @CraigHocker
      @CraigHocker Před 2 lety +4

      The open hand attack you are seeing (shomenuchi or yokomenuchi) represents a weapon. Classical sword cuts actually - kirioroshi (vertical cutting down) or kesagiri (cutting down at an angle off the vertical). Many but not all only need slight modifications for other weapons like a club or bat that usually easy for someone well trained. Many of the diagonal cut responses can be adapted to certain punches on the horizontal plane. And even the basic straight punch in Aikido is really a bladed weapon thrust in origin. Regardless, this practice focuses on just a small subset of the technical repertoire. Real world application - if you are planning on getting into fights then sure go train with boxers and grapplers. Aikido isn’t about getting in to fights so you are going to find it a few steps away from that. Doesn’t mean application is not possible, it’s just not the primary goal.

    Why Micheline sensei does not begin and finish her class in seiza?
    I have practicing Aikido for 18 years and i have never seen a sensei teaching a class or a seminary, without doing a seiza position at the beginning and in the end of the class.
    What is the reason?
    Saludos desde Veracruz, Mexico.

    Pourquoi uke se penche pour attaquer yokomen uchi, flagrant à 1:50? Ca crée une ouverture... Uke à l'arrêt pendant kote gaeshi 2:08. Les contacts dans les entrées sont très durs, étrange...

      Kaitenage. It is in the rotation, not the striking of the butt. Though that could help.
