The length of the platforms at Skegness show how in years gone how busy the station was with "specials" arriving from all over the midlands (mainly) especially on bank holidays. It is sad that rail travel today is so expensive as it could tempt people back if the ticket prices were reduced, a big part of the fun for me when I was a kid was the train journey itself.

I loved this journey too around 1963-68 in the modern 2 coach DMU's of the day. I always tried to get the seat directly behind the driver. As I remember the journey seemed to take around 45 minutes then but of course there were at least 6 stops. Halcyon days

To think this was once a proper main line, two Cleethorpes - Kings Cross trains a day, endless summer weekend excursions to Skegness & Mablethorpe, evening fish trains. Yes I was there...so long ago.

I like how he puts in writing all change at Skegness even tho this isn't a passenger train, when this train went through wainfleet this train passed a mirror showing DB.EWS Class 66, which traveling beyond boston on the skegness route can only mean its the track clearing train which is a pair of class 66's hauling 2 blue tank looking wagons in the middle. Still a good video never the less.

Certainly brought back some memories, used to go to Skeg at least once every Summer when I was a kid in the 1980s on those awful old trains that smelled of old tobacco and goodness knows what. I only wish you'd kept the noise of the train instead of the music.

If you allow me to do so, your name will be featured within the credits if you allow me to use your video and put a link in to your channel. I have viewed a lot of train rides, in England. It does not matter what part of the country we see. It just seems too me that all the houses are the same. It is as if England has book of houses, and builders just look in it, and decide , I think we will build number seven this time. Same red brick, same red tiled roof. Same pokey little semi. I know because I bought one in 1959. Things have not changed much since then.

Must be boring being a driver on that line, flat as a pancake, I come from up north, we have structures called hills and mountains. The line could do with a few curves to stop the driver nodding off.
