The one of the things that make Cale unique is that he actually knows how to rely on people although there are others MC that does that. But they dont really rely on them that much or in a way like Cale did. At every main fights Cale always rely on a lot of people to fight or complete missions and exerts himself only when he has too.
We honestly need more isekai MCs with a more unique personality and appearance like Cale, he's one of a kind. I also respect the way he's protective of his own people instead of simply flexing all his powers on them and everyone else while also relying on them for things out of his reach, he knows his own shortcomings. Enough with the black haired trench coat OP characters (except for kim dokja i love that b*stard) who shows off like it's no one's business just because they can.

The thing is it’s always a dark hair stereotypical cool guy as the mc who goes from weak to OP, overlooked and weak to hot and desirable, bc the manhwas are supposed to be relatable to the target audience in some way. Firstly they are made to be sort of self inserts for Korean guys who are gonna have this hair colour naturally (and often fantasy action manhwas are set in Korea anyway so dark hair is more common) and act as wish fulfilment for the overlooked/shy/unsociable reader to live out his dream of being the coolest. Not like the female-oriented manhwas are so different tho, since many of them are also designed to be self-inserty but in different ways. The thing that bothers me the most tho is the attitude to friendships in these kinds of manhwas. TCF is one of the few that properly gives the mc friendships or some sort of network/allies. Whereas typically in these manhwas the mc is a “lone wolf” who is way too cool for everyone else, he doesn’t join a guild bc he’s gonna go it alone like the cool guy he is, the only relationships he has are his precious family (if they are still alive) and his romantic love interest/s - there are no friends, only lackeys or servants or “sort of friends” that the mc orders around. So to bring this back to ur point, TCF is so unique and brilliant in that it really breaks out of the self-insert style of this genre of manhwa. Cale has a more unique and interesting appearance and personality and overall character - he has been developed beyond the basic level of “wish fulfilment”.
Just wanted to let you know, after like 800 something chapters of the light novel (waaay later than the end of the manwha, by a a lot) still no romance. Not even a little bit of flirting. So rest assured, still no harem and no romance. And a loooot of character development. The story also only keeps getting better in my opinion. So you’ve gotta lot to look forward to.
I love this manhwa so much and I don't normally read manhwa that don't have romance. But this one is so entertaining, watching a weak guy breeze through life because two of his friends are the strongest around and two of them are growing stronger every day
Man I love this story so much. The way he master plans everything is so satisfying and he is such a chill guy. He is acting out of self interest but at the same time he can’t ignore people in need if he has a real solution to their problem. He’s not dumb and he doesn’t have a fairy tail view of how he’s gonna help everyone and fix all the problems. He just a man living his best life.
I can only say, CALE I LOVE YOU!!! He really is unique and protagonist/MCs like him are really rare, how to let’s say it’s like the legendary type of character after rare, because this types are really scarce, there are very few like Cale and what is more even in novels this type of characters are pretty rare (besides the fact that there are very few to almost rare novels with not romance or no-harem since most novels are romance or harem) what I love the most is those lazy like eyes and his lazy-like personality which is super sexy and cool.

I haven’t read the manwha yet (I’m still not completely done with the light novel yet, although I’m getting close. Passed he 800 chapter mark a while ago.) but it looks so nice. I love Raons design in particular. It fits him perfectly. I do hope they make Cales hair longer later on though. Just a bit at at least. If you look at most of the art outside of the manwha it’s a bit longer than what he has. I think it fits him better. Then again, it’s fine if they don’t.

I think it’s refreshing. Although I will say it’s a little bit weird that there’s (spoilers) no relationships in the entire light novel. I’m pretty sure the only couple is Cales parents. All the other characters are either single or widowed. I’m not saying I dislike the lack of relationships though. Again, really refreshing. And it would feel sudden if one was introduced now 800 something chapters into the light novel.
