I lived in Split , Trogir and Otok Obonjan when me and my family left Bosnia during the war in 1992 and I currently live in the United States and I'm actually moving back to Croatia soon . I look forward to it so much. It's the greatest place in the world. My girlfriend who's American is coming with me and she's got no clue that she's going to live in paradise.
I must say that the food, wine and beer in Croatia is better than anywhere else I have been
I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation here with us. Only small correction about Dubrovnik. It was never ocupied by the otomans, or venitians. It managed to stay independent throughout history or at least until this small french guy came and ocupied it at the end. Last 200 years were more turbulent, but that's another story 🤟

I came back from Croatia like 5 days ago. I was on Peljesac island, but also visited Korcula, Dubrovnik and some parts of Bosnia (Kravitz waterfalls and Mostar) and I totally felt in love with this country! I wish I met you in Dubrovnik!

So, few things I would like to comment:
Looks like you were in Dubrovnik right when Pelješac bridge has opened, so the need to go trough Neum and cross the border is no longer necessary (i believe the day after the opening the traffic thru Neum border was cut almost 75%) .
On the history of Dubrovnik - it was actually city-state (something like Venice) which was independent from 14 century till 1808 when Napolen conquest and abolishment of the Republic of Ragusa. The state was small territorially but it had at its peak one of the biggest naval ships, and trade was the main source of economy. Also had big network of diplomats and spies basically in every court of Europe.
And lastly, I'll forgive you for putting more modern part of Dubrovnik (Gruž port and bridge) as Neum! :P

prices have exploded, flights seville-london were once around 60 Euro per person, now its 250 Euro for one flight in the high season not to mention the hotel prices...went to Croatia years back and went down the whole coast line for 250 Euro...with boat tours, beach fun and bus and boat hopping..fun days

Just to clarify,middle part of Dalmatia has exclusively sand beaches,on the west side of Dalmatia is the largest sand beach on Mediterranean,almost 9km long.

Been watching your videos for a few years now love how you tell your story. I went to Croatia couple weeks ago was only was there for 5 days. Everything was very rushed but we lucky to have rented a car. The place is stunning and the drives are so scenic, definitely underated. I usually book accommodation on the day and I luckily realised quickly they don't have anything decent on the day or it's over priced. Like yourself I found decent accomadations 30min away from split in a town called duce for around 100 euros a night. Place looked stunning, mountain and sea views from the appartment gave me abit of swiss vibes as you have to drive town a mountain when you enter. We kept stopping the car to take the same photo from a different angel.
If you are still there visit the plitvice national park, the waterfalls are beautiful I think we done trail c took around 6 hours. Also kravice waterfall which you can swim in and Mostar is a must. Food is Bosnia is great can't go wrong with the mixed grills theyre very affordable and halal the best of it. As a Muslim we get stuck with seafood diet in Europe it gets boring very quickly having pizza pasta and Thai food on repeat.

Great video of Dubrovnik - the most recognisable Croatian destination. But all of you are visiting predominantly coastal Croatia which I do get to some point but, folks, this is only one half of Croatia while the other half comprises of also beautiful and very different continental regions! This country has a whole lot more to offer than just very crowded Adriatic places!
For the starters, there's magnificent and often overlooked capital city of Zagreb that is full of amazing old and modern architecture, history, mesmerising ancient streets, major attractions, interesting vibe, quirky and world class museums, many astonishing city parks and greenery, great cuisine... Zagreb also has 900 meters high mountain where you can come by walking, bycicle, car, bus, modern cable car with stunning views, two amazing recreational artificial lakes, grand museum of modern art, Medvedgrad castle...
Also in continental Croatia you'll find magical and beautiful baroque era city of Varaždin, amazing medieval castles like Trakošćan and Veliki Tabor, Kumrovec - interesting and picturesque open air ethno museum - village with preserved traditional Zagorje region architecture and museum of Josip Broz Tito birthplace, ... There's also Star shaped Karlovac old city centre, Sisak triangular 16th century fort, old towns of Samobor, Čakovec, Đurđevac, ...
In eastern Croatia you'll also find amazing places: city of Osijek - beautiful destination at the Drava river with amazing old town in baroque star shaped fort, Slavonski Brod - city with grand star shaped fort, beautiful old Franciscan monastery, amazing Sava river promenade and large central square encircled with beautiful old Habsbourgs empire era buildings, beautiful town of Požega with famous nearby Kutjevo vineyards, small town of Đakovo with ornate old cathedral and renowned Lippizan noble horse stables, medieval Ilok with interesting walls, palace and vineries with some world class vines (some of them were served at the Great Britain Royal coronations!), Vukovar for it's huge historical importance during the 90s Croatian war of independence, with several great museums, Baranja region beautiful old villages and amazing food and vines, Kopački rit nature park, Papuk nature preserve...
And this is still not the full list since it would be so hard to make a complete list of all interesting places that certainly deserve to be visited!

I was scheduled to go there in 2007 for a travel industry study tour. All expenses paid. Anyway my house burnt down a couple days before departure. out of shock I opted to stay home and rebuild my life. Still sad about that. One day I’ll make it there!
