I’m not sure what location this was, but caught this was filmed in July which explained why July flowers were blooming at the end of August. Lol, I know petunias don’t look that good in August.
Lots of color 🤩
Yes! It's a look back at the Cottage Garden at its peak in mid-July in zone 5b Iowa and packed with blooms -Thanks for watching🌼
I believe Lori is in Iowa. You can search Bochner Farms.
Beautiful flowers!
Aren't they stunning? Thanks for watching!🥰
Beautiful garden! Does Garden Gate ever make it down to Houston or south east Texas? Would love to see how our local gardeners are managing in our hot humid weather. It's been a rough month or so.
Good idea! We haven't been to Houston. We will keep it in mind. Thanks for watching.
Why plant butterfly weed, which is a host plant for
Butterflies, just to cut them back? I don’t think she took the hint about the caterpillars possibly hiding. 🤔
She demonstrated it's not planted to support them in her garden but it seems this whole garden is for showing off the plants. Everyone has their priorities and it is a nursery after all.
@@TheTinkerersWife it’s not a nursery. It’s disappointing to me to plant a host plant for butterflies, to just kill off any eggs or caterpillars by pulling it out. It could always be planted elsewhere if it didn’t work in that spot.
What makes this a cottage garden? I'm quite surprised at the cottage garden title with this design. Her garden is far from that with the rectalinear paths and boxed raised bed structures. It lack the delight factor of cottage garden designs I've seen over the years for sure.
Cottage gardens historically were something anyone could create in any space and held more than flowers. Boxed flower garden maybe? It was underwhelming and a disappointment.
