    CONCEPTUAL QUESTIONS:ARCHIMEDES PRINCIPLE
    1. The air exerts an upward force (buoyant force or up thrust) on our body and makes us slightly lighter than we actually are. So the weight shown on the weighing scale would be less than 42 kg .Thus we can say that our actual weight / mass will be slightly more.
2.The bag of cotton is heavier than the bar of iron. The cotton bag experiences a larger air thrust than the iron bar. Therefore, the weighing machine indicates less weight than its actual weight for the cotton bag.
3.When stones are thrown into water, the water level rises.
The density of stones is greater than that of water.
When the stones are thrown into the water, they replace the same amount of water as the stones themselves.
    Hence,the water level rises......

3rd solution is wrong cause earlier the stone was not displacing water by its volume but by its area so when we throw the stone in water it will although make the water rise up a little but as the mass of boat will be reduced and we'll see the boat rising so we will observe fall in water level.

Conceptual question's answer (1):- it is in reality more than 42 kg...because when we are on weighing machine, the fluid (air) exerts upward thrust on us through our foot(called buoyant force).. So the real mass - buoyant force= mass shown by weighing machine
2nd question:- because cotton has less density,,,so it'll be less heavier when compared with an iron
3rd question:- it'll remain same because when the stones were on the boat then the amount of water displaced by the mass of boat(contain man and all the stones) will equal to that of when he throw all the stones...
    I hope smjh gye hoge😉..
।। 😂 just an example
    Last question's answer:- it'll sinks
Because it's density will 50/20 (density= mass/volume) as the density of water is also in g cm^3... So water density will also in g cm^3... (For simplicity).. (Waise bhi g cm^3 is a CGS UNIT) so object density= 50/20 = 2.5 g cm^3
    Object density/Water density = 2.5....so it'll sink... Because it's more than 1😊

Basically weighing machine measure normal force.
    It measure Kg-force.
Hint: weighing machine measures the amount of normal acts upon it.
In ideal situation, when we stand on a weighing machine, our weight acts downwards due to gravity, while upthrust due to air acts upwards as we as a body displace the amount of air as we stand upon the weighing machine. This upward force is the buoyant force. As a result, the body gets pushed slightly upwards, causing the weighing machine to show a reading less than the actual value. Thus, the weighing machine measures our apparent weight, which is less than the true weight. The actual mass will be more than 42 kg.

for the third one..the water level won't rise because when the stones were on the boat (which they have been from the start) the water level already rose to its maximum level then itself. No further increase in water level will occur as we are not adding these stones externally or afresh. Whether its thrown in the water or if its on the boat, the weight of the stones will be considered and thus, the level rose right from the start itself. However, if we were to just add these stones later on externally (as in, if those stones were not on the boat from the start) then the water level would have risen. So no, i feel it will remain equal.
to answer the second one...the iron bar would be heavier. This is because 100kg= wt. of iron bar= wt. of bag + cotton. Now the bag definitely has some weight of its own so if we subtract that weight from that of the total (100kg) then we will get the weight of only cotton. Weight of cotton alone would be less and thus, comparing that weight of cotton (

The weighing machine gives output in kg and as kg is S.I unit of "mass" It's telling us our mass, because it's has a small microcontroller in it which has been programmed to gives us the mass because when we stand 🧍on it we give it mg so after calculating it's telling us our mass. So for calculating it must have to divide the value ie mg by g but the value of g varies with places so there is no constant value of g. So the weighing machine cannot give accurate mass

    hw question 1
A weighing machine measures the weight of a body and is calibrated to show mass. When we stand on a weighing machine, our weight acts downwards while upthrust due to air acts upwards.
So, due to upthrust, the body appears to lose some weight. As a result, our apparent weight becomes less than the true weight. The weighing machine measures this apparent weight, and hence the mass indicated by it is less than the actual mass.

Stone has some volume and according to Archimedes principle volume of the stone = the weight of the displaced water . Therefore the level of water will rise surely

    • @VnM-vm3wm
      @VnM-vm3wm Před rokem +1

but wont the volume still be present when the stone is in the boat, if thats the case the level wont rise

1.Weight is depicted less due to atmospheric pressure of about 200,000N acting on our body of roughly area 2m^2
2.Weight of both should have been same due mass being equal but volume of cotton will be more therefore atmospheric pressure acting on it will be more.
3.Yes, due to the pond being an enclosed area, no. of heavy stones being thrown would result in an increase in level of the water.

bro how would the level increase as when u were sitting on the boat you stiil had the mass of stones and when u throw them the water level will not rise

1)the weight is less because upthrust is acting on it.

  • @aadyasingh1992
    @aadyasingh1992 Před 2 lety +11

Hw Q1) weight is shown less on the machine
Reasoning: air is a fluid and exerts pressure while the gravity of the earth acts on us. This causes upthrust and leads to lossing in the weight on the machine
    Q2) iron
reasoning air particles are tightly packed in iron and has no air spaces and as a result is more dense than cotton. This leads the iron to hv more weight.
Q3) the level of water will rise
Reasoning: stones are heavier than water and sink. So according to archimedes' principle the level rises.
Sir please tell if the answer is correct

The pressure exerts in cotton is more because of densile in class 11th you will understand it better of also directly proportional to it's surface area - area or volume..., 2nd one be the density mass of the volume (cubed).
