Steam On The Mount Washington Cog Railway 17th October 2014

Locomotive No 9 Waumbek built in 1908 at the Manchester Locomotive works New Hampshire make the trip to the top of Mount Washington 6228 ft . The steam trip is done once a day , other runs are completed by diesel hydraulic locomotives introduced in 2008 which run on biodiesel.

Considering all other sources of pollution... one very enjoyable coal burning train to a mountain summit can't be so bad and it's our heritage of inventing a better life for all . Keep the STEAMER on Mt Washington NH !!
