Back in the day 2016 I was graduated from highschool and started the university. I got a car and this album was my only disc on the reproducer. 6 months ago I crashed, cougth on fire and my album died. Glad Im still alive and went to your show at mexico City two months ago✨

Both are great! I find I can express more with a guitar (I know that's because I'm not the best at bass) but playing Bass feels like I've tapped into the rhythm of life! Feels like I've found that perfect flow! I can't help but get this huge stupid grin and just bob away! :D

Gets better the more I listen. So pleased I made it to their show at the Regency in SF with my lover earlier this summer. Strolling back to the Marker to spend the night with her is a lifetime highlight. Cancer is killing me, but my love is strong . Music is magic.

Ahh man i love these guys! Listening to this album again after a relatively long time brings a smile to my face and brings back some good memories of cruising down the road during hot summer nights with this blasting on my stereo. This continues to be one of my favorite albums ever.
I have been a big fan of the band since around 2009 and it has been incredible to see their style evolve over the years. This new album is a bold step in a new direction, I for one love the shift to these more peppy dance infused beats. I cannot get enough of "Open Your Eyes".
H.I. McDunnough yeah, I think that's when I started getting into them as well. Around 08-09. I think I first heard Pop Song and that's what got my hooked.

Open Your Eyes is definitely my favorite off the new album. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how the album turned out. Got into them just last spring, and have enjoyed just about all their work since!
I completely agree. I think that some of their songs and performances from previous albums tended to drag a bit, rhythmically. But with this new line-up and material, the band has managed to revamp things for the better. The interplay of the vocals with the bass lines and percussion creates a better balance and tension.

According to Thomas Metzinger, no such things as selves exist in the world: nobody ever had or was a self. All that exists are phenomenal selves, as they appear in conscious experience. The phenomenal self, however, is not a thing but an ongoing process; it is the content of a "transparent self-model." In Being No One, Metzinger, a German philosopher, draws strongly on neuroscientific research to present a representationalist and functional analysis of what a consciously experienced first-person perspective actually is. Building a bridge between the humanities and the empirical sciences of the mind, he develops new conceptual toolkits and metaphors; uses case studies of unusual states of mind such as agnosia, neglect, blindsight, and hallucinations; and offers new sets of multilevel constraints for the concept of consciousness. Metzinger's central question is: How exactly does strong, consciously experienced subjectivity emerge out of objective events in the natural world? His epistemic goal is to determine whether conscious experience, in particular the experience of being someone that results from the emergence of a phenomenal self, can be analyzed on subpersonal levels of description. He also asks if and how our Cartesian intuitions that subjective experiences as such can never be reductively explained are themselves ultimately rooted in the deeper representational structure of our conscious minds.
