I'm rewatching Glee now and there are so many parallels that seep through between Finn's storyline and Cory's situation, how Finn said he didn't want to end up like his dad did and that's exactly what Cory did... there's tons of stuff like that, everything just got a double meaning after Cory died.. I know it doesn't make sense, this is a fictional show, I just still can't believe that he's not somewhere on this Earth anymore....
Lori Smith oh he did Cory’s father is a retired military serviceman for a branch in the Canadian military Ryan wrote the od part for Finn’s dad based off of Cory actually having a code blue as a young teen....
I think he proposed hurriedly and in kind of a panic and fear. I think Kurt was right, that he was marrying Rachel instead of working out his own future... because he lost faith in himself and he knew she never would. He was just following Rachel as his beacon of light.

As a teenager Finchel ship made me understand what true love means. So did Monchele. Maybe Cory died but he didnt for us and at least he loved her for the lest of his life and so will she. i know it. They had something really special that never goes away .I do not believe that Cory died like his father. HE was much better person he finally found his way, his soulmate.He had a happy life by fulfilling his dreams and dating the love of his life with that and his amazing character he was happy and full of life even though it was unfair to leave." In the 2nd season of that show, Josh (who was essentially that show's Finn) proposed to his girlfriend Lily and they (stupidly) got married. I think Ryan learned from his mistake then by not letting Finchel go thru with marriage while still in high school
