Demolition has started on the old North Dekalb Mall in Decatur, GA. The new development will be called Lulah Hills. North DeKalb Mall opened its doors in 1965 as a bustling shopping destination in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Originally an outdoor strip mall, it was enclosed in 1986 to compete with other malls in the region. The mall featured major anchor stores like Macy's and JCPenney, along with a variety of smaller retailers, a food court, and a movie theater.
