34:30 - for anyone curious - he means in order to get a chance at farming chests for a particular character, you need to complete the mission on that respective character in order to unlock the ability to do so ON THAT CHARACTER - NOT that you need to complete the mission on all 3 characters in order to start farming chests on ONE of them. Hopefully that makes sense (for anyone who might misinterpret what he said at the end)

@@ben-64 little bit harsh, what cross said wasn't wrong, it was just worded confusingly. you do have to do it on all characters if you want to farm it on all characters.
Solo players got catfished into thinking they can farm for these.
You can get them from normal chests after completing the activity once, its not that bad

Around 18:40, the 3 common lit ones are what you shoot. If you both call out the 3 totems NOT lit for you, then the 3 unmentioned will be the 3 to shoot. Found it a little easier that way.

I totally understand the fact that end game stuff should be hard to get. But that doesn't mean it should be a done only via teamplay. Bungie should have given the opportunity to anyone who wants a solo challenge. Besides that sense of accomplishment you get by finally getting it done solo will always be the ones to remember in a game like Destiny.

I am a returning player i havent played since 4 or 5 years. I came back with final shape and i did this mission with my old friend. Man we had a blast doing this blind together. Figuring everything out and mastering it was insane. Things like this u wont forget so fast. Its hard, its rewarding, its just a great coop ecperience. The light and dark theme...it just had to be a duo only mission. I loved it 👍

As a solo player, my experience trying to escape the jail in LFG Warlord's Ruin last season has put me off even attempting to do this.
Ah, so this is a horror story everyone has from that dungeon. I had one where we were stuck for almost an hour cos the guy couldnt tell ACW from CW and then went to make food after after about 15 minutes 😳

This is why I solo dungeons. Wish I could solo some raids but I have brain damage and I cant keep that complex of mechanics straight in my head.
@@eklof2757 for me my play time is 1-8am I work from 4-12pm. I can't really be on mic in the middle of the night without it being obnoxious. Headset usually makes me talk too loud cuz I can't hear myself and people complain at me if I use the ps5 built in controller mic. So I just play alone.

you don't, once you've done it once you can farm pale heart chests for it and since your vendor upgrades are shared between characters i'm assuming dual destiny progress is too
@@dankerbell I don't think that's how it works. For example, just because you get an Expansion only Exotic for one character, doesn't mean you can get other expansion exotics for other classes to drop via random drops. You have to unlock the Exotics per character, meaning we will have to run thsi activety at least once per character.

@@Cryptic211 It does not I think. Considering the Exotic Marks are Exotic, and likely fall under Exotic rules.
Once you've beaten the level 4 bosses and killed the witch in each area, the exotic mission appears on your map ant stays there, its also available for all 3 characters straight away, whole thing takes about 30 mins each run ! Farmable.
As a mostly solo player cause all my friends hate "Debit Card 2" this kinda blows...
They literally had a chance to get some expansions either free or 85% off not long ago. Making games isn't a charity. Any hobby costs money. Plenty of options for a temporary extra side hustle to make an extra $100 to get a new expansion if they want it on release.

Reading the coment responses to the people talking about how this sucks as a solo player was a good reminder of WHY I'm a solo player.
I was really hoping exotic class items would be part of a 6 man activity like wellspring, dares etc or something somewhat fun. Lol
This whole ass dlc is tedious AF. Prolly the most wasted time out of any one of them before it. It's not hard but boring and waaaaaay too long as far as unlocking the armor an weapons. The timers are VERY lenient, me and my teammate did one part for 10 minutes before looking up a guide, and still had 10 minutes to spare

Final shape is a good DLC...for Destiny. But you compare it to other AAA games DLC's and you'd know how friggin much you'd be getting ripped off by Bungie in terms of actual content that you receive. Elden Ring's DLC is gonna completely overshadow Final shape, and you know what? GOOD
How is it that trials accommodates for solos better that PvE missions now?
We should’ve gotten it for beating the witness in that 12 player activity. Instead of locking it behind a mandatory 2 player raid.
So a few things
1. For those complaining AT solo players. There are people literally with social anxiety. Literally a mental health condition. Your mother brought you up wrong if you are not open minded enough to understand that part. For the solo players w/o a mental condition. Grow a pair and LFG it.
2. For those saying this is not a good guide. He does explain by showing you and verbally confirming what to do in order. If you can’t understand, that’s literally on you.
3. This mission becomes incredibly easy after the first few runs and you LEARN what you’re doing. I did it with my clanmate and we clear this now in 30 mins or less, stop expecting everything to be given to you on a silver plater. Play the game, stop whinning. Literally if something’s too easy wahh. They make the game more difficult, wahhh. On top of pointing the finger at anyone else except self accountability. Lame af. Skill issue check?
4. As for farming. It truly is rng. I just spent a hour in the daily overthrow area and received 0. My clanmate however scored 1. This farm method is truthfully if you don’t ever want to do the mission again(which is nuts because it is the most fun and best exotic mission in a while)
So farm from chest at your own risk because it can get boring

It’s a multiplayer game you goof. Grow up and talk to people or use lfg. There is no way that you are that antisocial that you can’t talk to someone through a screen.
Honestly this expansion is banger, but I won't be playing most of it as I too am a solo player and a lot of this expansion will require a fireteam. RIP for those of us who aren't hardcore players, and don't trust LFG. Guess it was a good thing I didn't buy it. I'll live vicariously through Cross from here on out I guess.
Have been since D1, when I got sick of the short end I grew a pair and started using LFG, it wasn’t all perfect but I kept going and now I have some good raid loot. The tools are right there in front of you. Solo players have no excuse anymore.
Destiny is not for solo players. Bungie has made that crystal clear. They have made so many options to get help..

Yep, I quit the game and many other people who "don't want to socialize" will too.
Doesn't matter if some think it's a simple barrier to step over, for others they just want to play a game on their terms, on their time.
Sometimes the kid had an accident, or they got hurt and need a bandaid, or the wife needs my help with something.
It isn't about socializing. It's about how absolutely inconvenient it would be to other people to play with my interruptions, which is the reason why socializing is hard in these games to begin with. It's literally to make sure I don't ruin YOUR experience with my immediate needs.
This is why challenging solo content is perfect. If I need to run, I just quit the activity and help out. I suppose I can do that in LFG too and just make 5-10 peoples day worse in the process but wouldn't that be selfish?
Instead of that, I'll take this as a sign that people like me aren't welcome and i'll take my leave here. I got to see L&D saga wrap up. Now's a good time to head out.

I've spent the last couple days trying to find people for the convelance budding quest in several different places and no reply.... So it's not always a case of not willing to play with other's... So rather than laughing or mocking the solo players offer help... Do good for the community not belittle it. I helped a guy for over two hours on this mission, on the 4th attempt we finally got to the boss room, only to realize at the end of the encounter that the clock changes too fast for the other guy to see which they were, type them in, me see which was the one in common and type that one in. Sadly he didn't have a mic so we had to quit trying and I felt so bad for him. Thankfully, I have friends that are currently playing I can get in vc with to do it. If you mess up any on the clock it resets any progress you made so a brute force is near impossible. Let it be known that a mic is absolutely required to beat the final encounter.

@@MarluxiaKH0014 Whereas the exotic swords are farmable every 20 minutes or so solo (matchmade) or by completing Pathfinder in the Pale Heart. I think I got three swords in an hour last week.

I literally just finished my first run through LFG and was lucky enough to get an awesome tm8 who actually knew the rune callouts. The mission was actually so much fun even if the final door puzzle tripped us up lol

Bungie is afraid of W's. The Final Shape campaign was AMAZING but this mission is a nightmare. if they at least took away the timer I would be fine with that or add rally points. However, this being a timed, long ass complex puzzle, that MUST be done co-op is just madness. I am exhausted just watch the tutorial. 🤣🤣

@@dylanholm9995really not that powerful though. There effects are so specific on the majority of the rolls that it’s barely worth the effort to get them in the first place.
@@dylanholm9995 I've seen the perks on the class items. Unless you get an absolute god roll like Star Eaters with Apotheosis or something similar, they really aren't that valuable. And remember that some of the basic exotics are stronger than their versions of it on the class item (i.e. normal Swarmers is infinitely better than the one on the class item just because of the unravel. The class item version is so much weaker because of no unravel that Swarmers on the class item is actually a no-go).
"One of the most powerful items in the game" my left nut. I'd rather run around with Celestial Golden Gun and the sniper than use the class item, especially after they nerfed Assassin's Cowl's effect (which was one of the only things I would've wanted the class item for on my hunter).
Finally I’ve done it! I finished a new exotic quest before all the CZcamsrs posted a guide! I AM A GOD NOW
As good as this expansion is, I’m noticing it’s actually quite unfriendly towards solo players, AKA the VAST majority of Destiny players. No public patrol? Forcing coms on coop focus mode? And probably the most nightmarish raid to LFG since Garden of Salvation? Now another activity for 2 players only? I’ve enjoyed my time in game so far, but really only because I haven’t bothered to get microcosm yet, or submitted myself to endless monotonous overthrow. I don’t know if I’m interested in this mission.
i'll probably run this at least cause I have one friend who plays d2 but I dont see myself ever doing microcosm, not interested in the weapon and having to do 3 missions where I HAVE to communicate the whole way through sounds like so much work for a weapon I probably wont even use. at least farming dungeons and some raid weapons can be done with minimal talking if you know the mechanics enough
Bungie have been slowly moving the game from an MMO lite to be closer to an MMO so it makes sense how they have more and more team activities.
You can match make for the public patrol space, I mean that’s what I did tho. And for the raid, I just joined Sherpas lmao. It’s not that hard tbh, and this game is meaning to be a MMO, a multiplayer, not a single player experience. If you want to play solo and play by your rules, then yeah that’s alright play it that way, but if some content is locked behind having a fireteam, well that’s too bad. And you crying about the raid being too hard is too crazy of an opinion. The raid MUST be hard as it’s literally the raid ENDING the light and dark sage, the game I have been playing for 10 years.
Everybody complains about no LFG in the game, then they put LFG in the game, and then people switch to "oh but other people are toxic and I don't want to play with other people anyway"
This game has had TEN YEARS of team-based activities, Even though Bungie has made many attempts to make the game more solo friendly because of all the complaints, and y'all still getting mad because of a single mission that requires one teammate...wow
You guys are only mad because it's the exotic class item and you really want it. If this mission rewarded you some kind of other exotic weapon or piece of armor y'all wouldn't care... But because it's the exotic class item went to exotic perks, everybody gets mad because it's challenging😂😂😂
I also try to solo nearly everything I can in this game, But if it requires a team I just bite the bullet if I want it bad enough. I don't understand why people find that so difficult. And honestly, The team-based activities are way more fun than the ones you can solo anyway... At least IMO 🤷♂️
if you think they control how their lfg community works youre insane. all of these things are good in a way because 1. raids have been too easy. 2. public patrol has been causing them to lose a lot of money because servers were wasted. 3. comms were never forced, youre just bad. and 4. yes it is weird that its a 2 player activity but a simple exotic mission for the most op armor piece in the game?
I think most of us can agree as cool as the mission is, Bungie definitely overcooked this time. Mission is long, complicated and with essentially raid mechanics. Only 2 player accessible and not solo player friendly (idc about this personally got a team, just sucks for them). The whole thing goes from "fun adventure" to "are we done yet"...
Yes, I already have it and will gladly farm Pale over that damn mission any day.

Hard disagree, this is one of the most creative and engaging missions bungie has made, and not only in destiny.
Does suck that solo only players can’t experience it, but there’s always LFG if you really want the exotic right now. Though if not, i could see bungie adding a different, but not guaranteed way to get them.
@rainyboi6383 Absolutely agree it was engaging, creative, and stunning to look at. Just wish I didn't have to drop fireteam member. It'd be great if bungie did do something for solo guys to get a crack at it, especially with how powerful our builds are, I'd even give a solo version a go
In before Bungie makes the solo version harder than Legend Zero Hour (what I hear is the hardest thing to solo at the moment).
I'm talking Locked Loadout, all 3 champ types, Extinguish. And instead of Subjucators, you fight a 'Vision of the Witness' with mechanics from his raid fight.

Definitely not the case. I've only done it on one character and I got my mission unlock.
I think he meant that in order to get the class item on each character, you have to do the mission on that character. If was hella confusing tho, I went to the comments to check too.

Idk but I do know you don’t unlock fast travel points without completing campaign per.
With that said, do campaign on normal since power level is account wide now.
Easy run through especially if you can get another character.
I managed to solo the Shattered Thorne and I'm proud of that, considering my skillset. But this, no way...
I stopped playing the game some time just before lightfall came out but every now and again I see some gameplay & I’m like holy **** a lot changed in just over a year lol

Yeh I’m tempted to hop back in at some point, the problem is I’m kinda enjoying playing a few different things atm & I know if I start playing again it will consume all my time entirely lol 😆 I think the problems I’ve had in the past is that they’ll make some good content but then shortly after there’ll be just a season where its just like “farm this lost sector x number of times” and it became such a chore that I first stopped playing during the osiris sundial stuff, played again for a while and caught up then ended up stopping again.

You don't need a contest mode clear on Salvations edge to clear this mission. You just need a Mic, someone you can trust, or even a sherpa, the ability to read a clock, and patience
Its a completely different world and game for these guys. Streamer god Destiny players be asking for harder modes, but they live in a different reality.
Saw Gladd stream this last night, he went in “blind” with Vendetta. They beat the raid boss 2 man the other day. They go in and casually beat it 1st try. Supposedly they didn’t know any mechanics or have heads up. Meanwhile me and friend tried 4 times couldn’t make it past 1st clock room. Yeah skill issues. Thanks toxic Destiny community. So helpful.

Aztecross is a completely average player skill wise. The reason he could do the day ones is that he has a steady group to play with and the time to actually play for 30 hours straight. They don't design destiny activities to be uncompletable by the average player, even if it takes them a bit longer. And for this mission your time commitment is maybe 30 minutes.

@@PapaG-cg4os that’s great for specific builds but the damage reduction I get from amplify along with my buffed arc soul that generates my grenade and melee cooldown along with damage is to much of a trade off for the few exotic perks they offer it would be different if it had the spirit of every exotic as a option so I can have multiple combinations sure but that’s not the case for me right now is all

I'm a casual solo player but I agree with the elitists that it is healthy for a game like D2 to have some content that would be very difficult for players like me to acquire without getting good and/or teaming up. HOWEVER, in my opinion, the class items should not fall under that umbrella of content for one reason: how significant they are.
Adept weapons, raid loot, dungeon loot, crafted godrolls of outbreak and whisper are all relatively small things in the grand scheme of the game in comparison to what else is available. But with class items random rolls having 100+ unique combinations each is too much to be limited to something impossible for solo players to achieve under most circumstances. Having elite content may be good for a game, but IMO most content in the game should be available to all players, hardcore and casuals alike.
And even though solo players can step into LFG, the reliance on callouts through text chat (because most solo players don't have a mic) adds an extra layer of inconvenience ESPECIALLY for console players that makes this mission all the more frustrating to complete as a solo.
What I think Bungie should have done instead is make the rewards of this mission grant an already fully masterworked armor piece with the artifice upgrade as a suitable reward for players that complete it, but still make it accessible to solos as a reward for maxing out ghost reputation. That way hardcore players are properly rewarded for doing the mission and solo players can still unlock the class items given time. But that's just my opinion.
Can confirm. You have to do all 3 zones' overthrows. Sav will talk and that unlocks the wizard spawn. Then you have to go back and do each zone again.
Nah you can just do 1 zone at a time, spawn the wizard then kill it then do the next zone.
@derka4754 that did not work for me. I did 2 zones and it wasn't until I did the 3rd one that it spawned

A step that many of us were missing and isn't being included in ALL of the instruction videos, is that the secret keepers won't start spawning until you've completed and overthrow in each area at least once and that includes fire team members. I've been trying for hrs in landing, found that bit of information and tried it, spawned right up.
Give it a while, when they see a overwhelming majority of people NOT using the item, they'll make it available to everybody, just like with the kiosk in the tower. Didn't do the bogus ass quest for this exotic? Here it is without any of that fxck involved. So why put the bs in at all? 😂

I got this done in an hour with a random chill ass lfg guy who spoke english as a second language while we were both running unoptimal loadouts. You can sure as hell do it too.

I find it funny when they said “this is easy” while they are equipped with some of the best weapons, all maxed out, and some of the best adept armor. Like bro it’s easy when you have the right tools. For the average is not as easy
and they're at light level a week after the season started. Me and a couple dudes from my clan have been making runs and we're all around 1970. That shit hits like a GM. Got all the way to the final clock on the boss at the very end and ran out of time. i was pretty upset, no lie.
So basically ALOT of people are never going to be able to get EVEN 1 because most players are solos AND you need another person so your only option is lfg which we ALL know how that place is. PLUS the damn fucking mission is too long and shouldnt even have the timer, if it's going to be that long at LEAST get rid of the timer. The class items are great yea but they are not anywhere close to being this grind worthy and unfriendly to solos to get

I have played this game solo except for the raids I've done. Solo Legend on LF and TFS. Dungeons you dont need comms if you know what you're doing. PVP maybe comms in Trials or Comp. GMs is like Dungeons.
The problem with this is advertising "you can farm this item" but left out how you'll get to the farm. They did this on purpose. Another problem is how the mission is set up.
1 person can be fully capable of doing the mission but you can fail because of the other player. That isnt fun or engaging its tedious and unnecessary.
Mix in how toxic this game is and you have people willing to give it a shot just to get into a game with someone who judges every single move they make and name calls. Why would that person go back for more?

For Bungie not to mention that in order to get it you must be in a duo team AND have a mic to do the mission. While I can find an LFG to do this, it would have been in Bungies best interests to be upfront on this. To get the hive yellow bar after completing each overthrow, will it randomly spawn in later? I've done all three areas before but haven't started the quest so do I need to do each overthrow again to get them to spawn?

Can’t tell what’s higher, the amount of money I’ve spent on destiny over the past 10 years or the amount of people complaining about pairing up with a teammate for an exotic quest.

This is crazy bro… I am the most casual average player you can get… I play 2 hours per day only if possible on that day and if not then too bad and average 6 hours per week playing the game. If you guys are crying on this lengthy mission, imagine grinding and working for the dark drinker or any exotic swords in destiny 1. It’ll take you double the time of this mission. The tolerance of these new casuals are so low. Like the game you’re playing is a looter shooter, you’re supposed to grind for the loot. And for you’re argument of people not knowing about the existence of the exotic class items, if they are invested into Destiny enough, they would have a CZcams video pop out once or so, if not they would see it in game and search it up that way.
If you didn't already know this, a lot of youtubers (specifically aztecross and datto) are the perfect example of what an average player can achieve. The only difference between them and everyone else is having people to constantly play with and the time to get everything done.

U need to kill the third boss of the overthrow, like each zone have a level, u kill 1 overthrow boss in that area it move to the next, so u have to done overthrow 3 times in the same area for each zone, there is a triump u can track to see if u already level to the highest boss

You have to beat the campaign fully and you have to complete overthrow in each area one time before they will spawn. I hadn't did the blooming overthrow yet and was getting so frustrated they weren't spawing. Once I beat that once I was allowed to progress

When was the last time u saw a presage farm pop up in an lfg. No one farms exotic missions cause they belong as hell on the 4th or 5th run, and the exotic is a like 1 in 64, so u gotta run it more than a few times to get what u want. And then if u wanna farm in a less tedious way, u get to walk around the pale heart searching for chests like ur mat farming in vanilla d2. NONE OF THIS IS FUN. Dares is farmable, menagerie was farmable, all these activities with some sort of break up in the gameplay make things farmable. The same mission on repeat over and over is not farmable, that's repeatable.

ALOT of solo players would have liked to have known the game changing class item Bungie hyped up in Vidocs and TWIDs was actually locked behind a “mandatory 2 player raid lite mechanic heavy locked subclass mission that requires communication and had a timer that wipes you to orbit when it hits zero”.
ALOT of solo players wanted that information before they purchased this DLC.
