- Filmed at the Brian May and Kerry Ellis Born Free tour - 16/11/2012 at Portsmouth. Very funny section where Brian forgets the instrumental section in the middle - but all good natured and well received by audience.
Brian shows he's stills a top performer.
I own no rights to the music.

He’s 71 now. he was 28 when he did that song.
The Eye woah
And?
Tina Šonková nothing, its just amazing how he wrote the song 42 years ago and still performing it amazingly
@@tinasonkova1918and it's awesome that he can still do it so well
His voice really hasn't changed at all
Brian could easily be an comedian
agreed
He has a delightful sense of humor.
You mean he isnt??
Absolutely if he thinks no one knows what a ukulele is........and he fucked up playing it...lol
British humor is quite... Unique... But really funny
It's so cool. Since he's a legend, it's okay for him to mess up or forget the chords. He doesn't look bad or anything.
I WISH he'd do something low key like this with Roger, where they played these deep cuts and told stories and things in between. Would be a fan's dream (well...this fan's dream)
And mine
Our fans' dream!
and mine!
and mine!
Me too. I think I read that John Deacon had passed away.
What a genius he is.
He's an astrophysicist'cal guitarist .. your correct .. sheer genius !!!
Forgetting a few cords reminds me of the Bohemian Rhapsody story with Gwilym Lee... and shows the amazing lengths Gwilym went to in order to portray Brian accurately in the movie. Yes he learned to play the Queen songs in the movie - especially the 6 - Live Aid songs. The guitar he used was a Brian May Guitar (BMG) replica - one of 2 on the movie set. Brian had his own 'Red Speical' guitar with him.
...
Brian was on set on the day they were shooting the full Live Aid performance and there was a bit of a delay as the camera crews were getting set up and working through some technical issues.
So Brian asked Gwil if he'd like to go have a jam. Of course Gwil said yes. So they went off and found a quiet spot plugged into the amps and went through the song list for Live Aid. At one point they were doing the licks for Bohemian Rhapsody and Brian played one and Gwil another.
Brian stopped and (gently) pointed out that Gwil as not playing it correctly. Gwil didn't miss a beat and reminded Brian that what he was playing was how Brian had played it on the day. Brian was surprised... "Did I really?"
The guitars in the movie weren’t BMGs
@@mads9270 what were they?
@@maxHeadroom325rayxerin Replicas made by Guyton Guitars.
@@mads9270 Alright ill look into them
@@mads9270 there were however a couple BMGs used, like when Brian was teaching “brian” and also 2 in the background of the live aid scene if you look closely at the behind the scenes
the “oh, forget it” makes me smile so much.
Brian is so adorable!
"Oh, forget it!" No, I should think it'd be hard to do a trombone on a ukulele…
Mr. Brian May, he's absolutely awesome.
Dr. Brian May!
Oh yes, indeed!

This is so adorable! How Brian plays his little ukulele! xD
s. a. It’s actually a banjo- ukulele. 😊
@@Ai-rw5vx here its just a ukulele, same on the album
I love how everyone is helping him out. Cause he's getting older.
They're 'helping' out becuz they're loyal fans ... has nothing to do with his age .. have you even listened to the studio track .. its mind blowing !!!
@@wilrennehan3205 oh I didn't mean it like that! I just meant as fans only. Brian's voice continues to be stellar to this day. I have listened to the studio track actually! I own a original copy of night at the opera on vinyl :-) queen is just too awesome to bear sometimes lmao ❤️😘
@@wilrennehan3205 he is getting older but not in a bad way. The uke solo is so neat tho
@@lilahisdreaming2794 my mistake .. you rock !!! :)
@@wilrennehan3205 you too man! Lol I love how queen fans sort out their problems! Take care, and keep jamin!
I suppose Brian's allowed one error. I mean when's the last time he actually played this song live for god's sake? Although it's sad John Deacon wasn't there to fill in the amazing bass line to this song. His retirement has left as big a hole in Queen's overall sound as the passing of Freddie himself.
He is human after all...lol
@@ATOMIKDOG23 Yeah, I also assume it's a bit harder to play with big hands a smaller string instrument.
Good Company had never ever been performed live until Brian performed it here
@@davebain2656 meaning he hasn’t played it since it was recorded for the album
Crazy to think
Ahhh if only I could go to a nice, intimate concert of his like this one... But thank you for at least letting us experience some of it through the magic of the internet :)
Delightful, quirky, charming little song from Brian. Great to finally hear it live.
Brian: This is called a Ukulele
Some dude in the audience: WOOOOOO!
Brian May playing the ukulele is my aesthetic
Same 😂😂
his voice is so sweet and hasn't changed at all
There can be only one BM
LOOK AT HIM AND HIS TINY LITTLE CUTE UKULELE IM CRYING
I used to play the original version of this song for my Grandfather. He played coronet and was a big band enthusiast. He loved this song, but would never believe me when I told him the horn sections were actually a guitar. I miss you Poppie!
Cheers,
Mini May
The oh so charming, Dr. May! Thank ;you for sharing!
And now the only A Night At The Opera song left to perform live is Seaside Rendezvous...
Yes! Doubt it’s ever gonna happen though. Also I didn’t realize Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon was performed live
Brian, may God bless you. Thanks a lot.
Too much music in your head Mr. May!, it looks a mix of Good Company & Bring Back That Leroy Brown solos, ahaha...!!, really lovely lapse!!
Interesting avatar You have)))
Such an awesome person.
Happy Birthday Dr May!
the whole band so talented. love the diversity of queen's music. been a fan since I was a kid and they still rocking in 2019
Loved that song. Love Brian May
Brian is absolutely adorable, could listen to him for hours. i wish i were there.

One of my favorites! Thanks for posting this made my rainy day sunny! Rock on Bri!
gads, I love Brian May...
How cute is this man!❤
What a lovely performance, even if he forgot a little! His voice hasn't changed a bit. He does a wonderful job playing the uke!
You’re my hero Brian, I love you and really wish I could see you live or meet you
Came to this video to see how to play that uke solo. Lol so much for that.
I love this so much! I usually feel so sad from the song but Dr. May having fun with it gives me a big smile to go to bed on. Cheers!
Not this one exactly, but the ukulele that he used during the actual recording was his fathers. He still has it, he uses it in the A Night At The Opera documentary.
Great Brian
It is so precious to have these moments. Queen never recorded anything they didn't go all the way with. It was 100% or nothing. This is a true treasure.
HE IS THE MOST ADORABLE 71 YEAR OLD MAN EVER AND HIS VOICE HAS NEVER CHANGED HE IS AMAZING I CANT
Sir Brian Harold May es muy agradable y simpática. Es una persona adorable 🙏❤️🌹💝🤍🍀✨⚔️🇬🇧🥰📯😍
I love this! Brian does great with this song!
I just learned Good Company on the uke today and I’m super happy to have learned it, especially after only playing for a few months. Don’t entirely have the strumming down though.
if i can remember the words
_take good care of what you got_
ooh ooh~ ooh ooh ~

Es el puto amo
Brian, a great lead guitarist and such a nice guy.
Favourite Queen song.
🤦🏻♀️I'm so Grateful Dr. May didn't play "Tip toe through the tulips".😅What an easy-going man, Brian May is.
🇨🇦✌🏻🎶🎸✍🏻♥️
Keep jolly good company!
Lovely!
Brian rules, man
I love this strum he did at the end
I see we have quite a few fans in the audience! Fun, I wish I couldve been there as well. Thanks for posting!
Moments like this, makes worth the money you pay for a ticket. Brian is God!!!
Great Brian!!! This is what I will think of all day long today!
Thank you so much from Italy! ;)
Thanks for the upload.
this is so wonderful
Brilliant as ever Dr May!
He is a kind soul
that was fun watching! :-)
Brian (and S Tyrrell) you've made me very happy hearing this from you live! It's one of my favourite "fun" songs and I never had the chance to hear it in concert. 😘
EXCELLENT!
This is so good.
Ahahah! Fantastico!! Non avevo mai visto Brian in versione così comica :-D Questo video è un reperto unico!
Grande Brian!!
Your genious Dr. May!!!
Te deja mudo, es, fue y seguirá siendo un genio!
he is unbelieveble
genio,genio,un maestroo
Agreed - they were excellent - a great night
Mi sueño es poder verlo a esa corta distancia y conocerlo tmbn
Love the ukulele. Don't love when people clap - often not in time! I want to hear the artist. At a gig many years ago, Christie Moore stopped playing till the audience stopped clapping. :)
Brilliant :)
Soo adorable ❤️
I don't know, how in may be, but it is :
So freaking cool hero of guitar, what play in stage for 50 years, astrophysics and cute grandpa with ukulele, how?...
Congrats!
Love that backdrop!
For those who may not know it, Brian May was the great guitarist in Queen. It's hard to say, as I like Queen's first two albums a lot, but I think overall my favorite album was "A night at the opera".
Very nice and funny
que grannnnde que sos brian unico
te amo tanto weon
oh my god that was so incredibly cute
I’ve rarely seen Bro so light hearted or at ease…..
There's also a brief bit of ukelele on "Bring Back That Leroy Brown" from the SHEER HEART ATTACK album.
True
Good company is an awesome song.
02:47 master class. !!! Brian shows that even him can play wrong and who cares :)
Holy crap, portsmouth? man, i could of seen this. wish i did.

He's this big guy with this wee uke.!
Great bridge. And the jazz band is genius of course.
