- I'm switching jobs! And decided to take two weeks off in between. This game dev used to be a pretty big raver (pre-pandemic) and decided to give it one last hurrah by taking a road trip to Las Vegas for EDC 2022. Day two our outfits were inspired by HxH and I'm fully convinced we manifested the return of it the manga. My favorite sets were Seven Lion, Zhu, and Illenium (bc I'm basic).

i found you through tiktok and i love your videos and find them so interesting because even though i’m still young (im a teenager) i would love to help develop games. but i am curious about what a job in game development looks like or even what a “senior product manager” does. and if you ever do a video explaining please let us know what major/minor you choose for college because im still unsure what to choose. (if u went to college). anyway i hope your day will be exciting or your night will be restful :)

Hey I love your videos keep it up! Any tips to get to the position you are currently at? I am learning some unreal engine in my own time and its my dream to become a games designer when im older. Anything you wish you knew before you started in your position/started developing games? 😁
I'm glad you enjoy them! I'll be making a video soon talking about how I got to my role actually so hopefully that will answer most of your questions! A few high level tips: 1) When playing games also take the viewpoint from a design stand point. Why did you enjoy certain aspects of it, what made you want to purchase something etc. 2) Be unafraid to ask for help - I went into the industry with little experience (a lot I attribute to luck), but I think I've grown exponentially within it bc I'm I'm always willing to admit I don't know something and seek new information. Honestly, I wish I knew more about what a "game dev" meant bc it can actually be quite broad. In college I didn't really know it was a viable option and I always thought you had to had very specific skillsets. There are so many types of game devs from me who's mostly nontechnical to creatives to QA to producers to engineers. All are integral to the development of a game.
